Wrong food delivered, after a long wait

Order placed on 28th December for cat food. I appreciate it was just before new year so did not expect delivery within the 1-2 days as advertised. However it took 9 days to arrive. When it did arrive I hadn't received cat food, but a large bag of dog food. Customer services said they would urgently dispatch a replacement order. Urgent meant 3 days until it was sent out. Finally 2 weeks after I placed my initial order my cat got its food. She won't be ordering directly from Meowing Heads again.

I haven't received my order yet

I haven't received my order yet. I initially got an email saying the dispatch was delayed but even since it's been apparently dispatched, nothing. The tracking link says the delivery company is still waiting to receive my parcel, I've emailed Barking head's to chase up but had no reply for a few days... The food itself is amazing but this is the first time I've bought direct from the company and I'm not impressed so far. Food for my cat is something that I obviously seriously need to be reliable. Especially as it's not like you can buy this brand anywhere. Very stressful not knowing when or if my boys food will arrive

Disappointed

I’ve had a subscription since April 2023. Always been happy with product and customer service. This time I was informed that one of my items - Fat Cat Slim - Dry Food was out of stock and would I choose an alternative product which would then replace the FCS in my future subscriptions.
Placing a subscription is a guarantee for me and the supplier of the sale/supply of that chosen product. If it is actually just out of stock then why does any substitute then become part of my subscription going forward?

There is no direct substitute for FCS and if, as I suspect it is not just out of stock but actually discontinued then why not just say so?

I did send a message asking this question at the time of the notification but received no response.

Great food, poor subscription service

Great quality food and cats love it, but I signed up for a subscription service for the 60 x 100g cat food that has been out of stock twice in a row now and can no longer rely on them anymore.
I've had to order elsewhere so I can reliably feed my cats their favourite food and will be cancelling my subscription.
They could've easily sent me the equivalent in smaller packs for the same price, but that was never offered to me as an option.
I've emailed and no response too.
Poor service.

Food is great sadly the cat food pouch packaging is not recyclable. Also outsources to company who doesn't package efficiently for good carbon footprint. therefore we will not be using again.

A shame

I absolutely loved meowing heads, and so does my cat. However I cannot rely on them anymore to make sure my cat has the food he loves. I have a subscription, they had a stock issue and asked me to cancel / skip the order. Fine. A lovely helpful telephone agent placed the order again for me 4 days later as the item was back in stock. 2 days later I get another email saying yet again they have stock issues and my order will be delayed. We are now looking at over a week where my cat doesn't have his regular food. I am looking to move to another food provider, I love the food you provided for cats but I need a subscription I can trust to make sure I don't have to run around getting food for my cat when you fail to deliver.

Just awful!

Created an account for my disabled Mum 10/02/24 subscribed and placed an order for cat food and kitten biscuits. My Mum received the biscuits and DOG food.
I sent an email regarding this error and received a reply saying a ticket has been created.
More than four weeks later and I still have not had any contact from them.
They don’t have a working phone number.
No way to cancel the Subscription.
Terrible service so far! And my Mum is paying through the nose for it now since her kittens have been adopted yet she’s still paying for the food which gets sent to her automatically.

Very disappointed

Very disappointed. There is very little decent cat food available in this country with the brands like felix and purina having only 4% meat with the rest filled with crap. Meowing heads is 93% meat and my 2 cats love it. At first the subscription was great I signed up for 60 pouches per month at a great price. The last two months just before the order has been due to go out they have said it’s out of stock giving me no time to be able to source it elsewhere. You can of course still buy the packs of 10 which makes it about £15 more expensive. Feel like they drew me in with this great offer and have now withdrawn it but aren’t telling customers this hoping that you’ll be so desperate that you’ll pay over the odds. Which is working because I’ll have to. Very bad marketing

missing order, 60 x meowing heads pack

ordered 60 x meowing heads pack on 24th Nov (which was shown as instock at time of purchase), also signed up for the subscription, when nothing arrived and the order stastus still said 'unfilfiled' on 26th Nov email and asked for an update, on the 29th Nov I got this email response.

"Dear Ian,
Thank you for getting in touch with us.
We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. According to our latest update, the Mega Pack wet food will be back in stock on December 3rd.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Many Thanks,"

waited till 3rd Dec, checked the site and yes, the food was now in stock, was my ordered fulfiled? no.

I waited till the end of the day on the 4th Dec, still saying unfilfiled so I emailed again, today, 6th Dec I am yet to recieve a reply.

It is such a shame because its great cat food with a high review score on petfoodexpert, but its quality is meaningless if it is never delivered.

UPDATE: after a lot of back n forth the food was delivered. I was also given £15 of points to make up for the inconvenience.

I have a subscription for cat food that is not reliably fulfilled

I have a subscription for cat food. The last few times my cat food has come up for delivery, there has been no stock (apparently) and I'm asked to place an order for something else. The item I subscribe to is a box of 60 pouches, which feeds my cat for a month. I could order the 60 pouches in different configurations e.g. 6 boxes of 10 pouches or a box of 40 pouches and two boxes of 10, so you do have stock. You just don't have the item packaged up as a single box of 60. Why therefore don't you just send me the equivalent of the 60 pouches? I don't care if they come in multiple smaller boxes. I care that my cat has food to eat for the month. The last time we ended up switching to lily's kitchen from the supermarket, which he enjoyed. If this keeps happening I will likely be cancelling the subscription and switching foods permanently as this is no longer realiable or convenient.

We have introduced notification emails about possible delays due to stock issues so customers can swap items as they wish. We don't feel authorised to swap without such a request but we're more than happy to assist if they email us and match the price for more expensive items than their regular subscription. These changes are manual so will need to be reviewed individually and cannot be processed automatically. If there is anything we can do to turn this review into a positive one please let us know. Your order has not been affected by a stock issue.

My cat vomit with this food, and inconsistent delivery

I used to order the Meowing Heads variety pack and wet mega pack for my cat because my cat is a fussy cat and this is one of the only food she would eat. However, after feeding her their food for a few months, my cat started having gastroenterology problem - every 2 weeks or so my cat vomit all her food after eating, and we had to take her to the vet. This has never happened before, and after switching our food to another brand, this happens rarely. Not to mention the email communication and delivery are inconsistent. My delivery has been delayed for 3 weeks due to low stock without visibility of when the next delivery will arrive. After having no arrangement for the entire month, they suddenly ship out the order within very short notice. I did not expect to receive any package and had already moved address without the time to update them with my new address. I contacted customer service for a cancellation and refund, but they initially refused to do so. Only after insisting that they allowed me to cancel and gave me the refund. Overall a really bad experience:( would not look back on this brand.

In the communication with our customer service you didn't share your concerns. We take any complaints like this very seriously but there may be many reasons why your cat vomits after eating every 2 weeks. We hope your cat is getting better after the vet visit.
With regards to the order it was placed because the subscription was active but the item was out of stock for a while. We informed in the email sent on 8th May that we will ship your your order as soon as the items becomes available. We understand that when the issue persists for longer than a week it's easy to forget about an active subscription. 
We had no intention to refuse your request to cancel. The order couldn't be stopped when you contacted us on live chat, it was too late but we instructed DPD for it to be sent back so we can process the refund.

Delivery driver left with a neighbor on ground floor when I live 3 floors up with no lift and I have back problems! Didn't try to buzz my intercom and I had to lugg the box upstairs and hurt my back!

DPD left my big box of 80 pouches of food with my neighbor downstairs because they didn't want to carry it up the 3 flight's of stairs when it's their job! I order online because I have a back injury that has left me unable to Carry heavy things especially up 3 flight's of stairs! I started ordering from this company because I had problems with previous company with deliveries, so tried barking heads and this was my first experience with them and looks like will be the last. I signed up for a subscription with them for £80 every 5 weeks which isn't cheap to feed my one cat and with this service, doesn't feel worth it. Barking heads, you need to sort out your delivery services along with other companies because none of them deliver to your door! I didn't specify to leave with a neighbor and I was in all day long and nobody even attempted to deliver it to my door! Customers can't contact these delivery companies directly and won't help you fix their problems either. Just pass the buck to each other! You've gained and lost a new customer for this as I'm now gonna be about 3 days in bed with this as it's pulled my back! Had to get another neighbor to help me as I couldn't Carry it further than the 1st floor!

Don't know what's going on but this…

Don't know what's going on but this company now owes me money!
Only received half an order with No explanation!
They're not taking calls right now?!!?
Chat bot is total BS.
Sent email yesterday. In past I've had a response by now but not this time?
So I've asked in the email what's going on & yes I still want that question answered.
I have a subscription with them. But they're so not the only company I deal with.
I've had issues in the past.
Apparently they've got supply issues with the cat food side.
So I said in the email I was happy to have waited for my order.
They'd already delayed my order which was fine.
Why not tell me something rather than short my order by half without saying?
They say that they're short of stock but still advertising 33% off. Why?
So I've had to buy food for my cat elsewhere.........
Nice people, but be careful......

Cat No Likey

Don't waste your money.
The wet cat food stank horrible and cat would not eat.
Tried mixing it with biscuits , treats and other cat food for week, but all ended up in bin.

Great products my cat and dog love the food! Customer service needs work. I have only received 1 bag of fat cat slim food when expecting 3. Cant get hold of anyone on the phone (waited 30 mins on average on hold) and left VM requesting cal back no call back. No response via email. Help!

Disappointing

Been feeding my cat Meowing Heads Senior Moments dry for a long time but the last 4 bags I've had appear to be different. The kibbles are coated in a dusty substance & when he's finished eating his food there is a dusty powder left in the bottom of the bowl. You can actually see the dust particles on the individual kibbles. Also had some odd huge kibbles in the bag presumably a manufacturing issue. Quality just doesn't seem as good as it was & I don't like to think of my cat consuming all this dusty powder. I'm going to look for a new food for him. Sad as meowing heads used to be good quality food
