Wrong food delivered, after a long wait
Order placed on 28th December for cat food. I appreciate it was just before new year so did not expect delivery within the 1-2 days as advertised. However it took 9 days to arrive. When it did arrive I hadn't received cat food, but a large bag of dog food. Customer services said they would urgently dispatch a replacement order. Urgent meant 3 days until it was sent out. Finally 2 weeks after I placed my initial order my cat got its food. She won't be ordering directly from Meowing Heads again.

I haven't received my order yet. I initially got an email saying the dispatch was delayed but even since it's been apparently dispatched, nothing. The tracking link says the delivery company is still waiting to receive my parcel, I've emailed Barking head's to chase up but had no reply for a few days... The food itself is amazing but this is the first time I've bought direct from the company and I'm not impressed so far. Food for my cat is something that I obviously seriously need to be reliable. Especially as it's not like you can buy this brand anywhere. Very stressful not knowing when or if my boys food will arrive

My cats enjoy the food but not much thought re the ‘user’ aka the human opening the sachet.
My cats enjoy the food but the sachets don’t always tear open properly and there’s always lots of food stuck in the bottom of the sachet. Which is really annoying as it makes feeding times more messy and take longer in comparison to traditional jelly sachets or other similar companies. The food also stinks the room up! Which I don’t mind, but may be off putting to some people.
Delivery was average to slow in speed.
Subscribe and save only works if your cats are really routine - mine aren’t haha.
Portion size is good.
I would buy again but only if it’s on offer as for the hassle of feeding time the price doesn’t seem worth it. Especially as there are many other competitive good quality cat food companies now.

Disappointed
I’ve had a subscription since April 2023. Always been happy with product and customer service. This time I was informed that one of my items - Fat Cat Slim - Dry Food was out of stock and would I choose an alternative product which would then replace the FCS in my future subscriptions.
Placing a subscription is a guarantee for me and the supplier of the sale/supply of that chosen product. If it is actually just out of stock then why does any substitute then become part of my subscription going forward?
There is no direct substitute for FCS and if, as I suspect it is not just out of stock but actually discontinued then why not just say so?
I did send a message asking this question at the time of the notification but received no response.

Great but frustrating issues with their system
I have the Cat wet megapack x60 as a subscription
The food as always is amazing and my cat's fur has become noticeably healthier and shinier
Your customer service via the phone has always amazing, even though I am calling with a problem with the subscription.
But please! Sort out your subscription IT system!!
Second month in a row I am told my subscription order cannot be shipped yet as it is "out of stock". I go online straight away and you can buy it from the website? Your staff on the phone were so good at resolving the issue however I do not want to make calling you to fix my subscription order a regular thing.

Great food, poor subscription service
Great quality food and cats love it, but I signed up for a subscription service for the 60 x 100g cat food that has been out of stock twice in a row now and can no longer rely on them anymore.
I've had to order elsewhere so I can reliably feed my cats their favourite food and will be cancelling my subscription.
They could've easily sent me the equivalent in smaller packs for the same price, but that was never offered to me as an option.
I've emailed and no response too.
Poor service.

Food is great sadly the cat food pouch packaging is not recyclable. Also outsources to company who doesn't package efficiently for good carbon footprint. therefore we will not be using again.

Love the quality of the food and my cat…
Love the quality of the food and my cat can't get enough of the biscuits in particular. Just wish the subscription service was more reliable. I don't have much storage space so try to time the delivery to fit in with when I'm running low, but often find there's a delay and the communication seems a bit haphazard.

Thus company is frustrating to deal with
Finding this company increasingly frustrating to deal with. We have a regular subscription for cat food. The cat food is great quality but the subscription process is poor. They email to say part of the order is low on stock and the delivery will be held up, so would I like to order something else instead. They dont specify which bit of the order is low stock, so impossible to know what to order instead. If I email to ask what part of the order is the problem, there is a "ticketing" system to wait for before they reply.....and then no clear answer. I've used this company for years and they are getting much worse. From the comments on Facebook, lots of customers are expressing the same frustrations

A shame
I absolutely loved meowing heads, and so does my cat. However I cannot rely on them anymore to make sure my cat has the food he loves. I have a subscription, they had a stock issue and asked me to cancel / skip the order. Fine. A lovely helpful telephone agent placed the order again for me 4 days later as the item was back in stock. 2 days later I get another email saying yet again they have stock issues and my order will be delayed. We are now looking at over a week where my cat doesn't have his regular food. I am looking to move to another food provider, I love the food you provided for cats but I need a subscription I can trust to make sure I don't have to run around getting food for my cat when you fail to deliver.

Just awful!
Created an account for my disabled Mum 10/02/24 subscribed and placed an order for cat food and kitten biscuits. My Mum received the biscuits and DOG food.
I sent an email regarding this error and received a reply saying a ticket has been created.
More than four weeks later and I still have not had any contact from them.
They don’t have a working phone number.
No way to cancel the Subscription.
Terrible service so far! And my Mum is paying through the nose for it now since her kittens have been adopted yet she’s still paying for the food which gets sent to her automatically.

This is expensive cat food particularly if you have two animals. I dislike the way it is difficult to get all of the food out of the pouch; there is a lot of waste, which at this price cannot be afforded. Like the box and the flavour categories.

Very disappointed
Very disappointed. There is very little decent cat food available in this country with the brands like felix and purina having only 4% meat with the rest filled with crap. Meowing heads is 93% meat and my 2 cats love it. At first the subscription was great I signed up for 60 pouches per month at a great price. The last two months just before the order has been due to go out they have said it’s out of stock giving me no time to be able to source it elsewhere. You can of course still buy the packs of 10 which makes it about £15 more expensive. Feel like they drew me in with this great offer and have now withdrawn it but aren’t telling customers this hoping that you’ll be so desperate that you’ll pay over the odds. Which is working because I’ll have to. Very bad marketing

The subscription service is not good. Twice my order of the 60 pack wet cat food was delayed. I was told it would be in stock on a certain date but then told it was not in stock. Finally after 2 phone calls I spoke to a nice lady who managed to put together a pack of 60 for me (albeit slightly different to what is included in the 60 pack). I decided to keep my subscription as I thought this was a one off but then I checked on line and see that there is a problem with my next order. I did not get any emails to say this, I just happened to log on to the site and saw a message saying there was a problem.
I then decided to cancel the subscription as it is more trouble than it is worth.
I never have any problems with ordering one offs from them, which is what I shall be doing in future.

missing order, 60 x meowing heads pack
ordered 60 x meowing heads pack on 24th Nov (which was shown as instock at time of purchase), also signed up for the subscription, when nothing arrived and the order stastus still said 'unfilfiled' on 26th Nov email and asked for an update, on the 29th Nov I got this email response.
"Dear Ian,
Thank you for getting in touch with us.
We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. According to our latest update, the Mega Pack wet food will be back in stock on December 3rd.
Thank you for your patience and understanding.
Many Thanks,"
waited till 3rd Dec, checked the site and yes, the food was now in stock, was my ordered fulfiled? no.
I waited till the end of the day on the 4th Dec, still saying unfilfiled so I emailed again, today, 6th Dec I am yet to recieve a reply.
It is such a shame because its great cat food with a high review score on petfoodexpert, but its quality is meaningless if it is never delivered.
UPDATE: after a lot of back n forth the food was delivered. I was also given £15 of points to make up for the inconvenience.

I have a subscription for cat food that is not reliably fulfilled
I have a subscription for cat food. The last few times my cat food has come up for delivery, there has been no stock (apparently) and I'm asked to place an order for something else. The item I subscribe to is a box of 60 pouches, which feeds my cat for a month. I could order the 60 pouches in different configurations e.g. 6 boxes of 10 pouches or a box of 40 pouches and two boxes of 10, so you do have stock. You just don't have the item packaged up as a single box of 60. Why therefore don't you just send me the equivalent of the 60 pouches? I don't care if they come in multiple smaller boxes. I care that my cat has food to eat for the month. The last time we ended up switching to lily's kitchen from the supermarket, which he enjoyed. If this keeps happening I will likely be cancelling the subscription and switching foods permanently as this is no longer realiable or convenient.

Smells too strong
Unfortunately, my cat would not touch meowing heads. He is quite fussy but i Think it just smelt too strong. omg the smell, the whole house stinks when you open a sachet. Won't be wasted I shall feed it to my farm cats who eat anything and where the smell doesn't matter.

My cat vomit with this food, and inconsistent delivery
I used to order the Meowing Heads variety pack and wet mega pack for my cat because my cat is a fussy cat and this is one of the only food she would eat. However, after feeding her their food for a few months, my cat started having gastroenterology problem - every 2 weeks or so my cat vomit all her food after eating, and we had to take her to the vet. This has never happened before, and after switching our food to another brand, this happens rarely. Not to mention the email communication and delivery are inconsistent. My delivery has been delayed for 3 weeks due to low stock without visibility of when the next delivery will arrive. After having no arrangement for the entire month, they suddenly ship out the order within very short notice. I did not expect to receive any package and had already moved address without the time to update them with my new address. I contacted customer service for a cancellation and refund, but they initially refused to do so. Only after insisting that they allowed me to cancel and gave me the refund. Overall a really bad experience:( would not look back on this brand.
