Cat food made our cats vomit after changing recipes. the tapioca is bad for cats, it didn't state tapioca on the old packaging for jelly neither new packaging. Wrote to the company to reflect on this making my both cats sick, got replied to say that they didn't change much and ask us to get a letter from Vet.
This new recipe is not good at all and the company is not willing to reflect after so many bad reviews.
Totally disappointed.

As a long term and loyal customer of Blink cat food, I was disappointed to see that they have not only changed the recipe but also their location. While we were warned about the recipe change (not well enough in my opinion) we were not told that the factory has now moved abroad. Considering that one of the reasons I chose Blink was due to its location being close to where I live (and better for the environment as a result) I am very unhappy with this change and especially that no one was told unless they specifically asked.
The more pressing issue is that since the change happened, both of my cats became violently ill from both ends. One of them is currently in the vets on a drip and the other is going there this morning due to having the same symptoms. Nothing else in the cats environment has changed (both indoors) and the severe stomach problems began after feeding them from one of the new packets which no longer has the made in Britain logo. It is important to change to a new food/recipe slowly to avoid such problems but if we were not warned about this, how were we supposed to know? Again, the note about tapioca starch came across as "this is not a big deal, your cats will be fine" and carried no warning to change slowly.
As soon as my cats are better, as that is currently taking all of my attention, I will be writing a complaint to Blink and requesting a refund as I now have over a month's worth of food which my cats are refusing to eat. Not that I blame the cats. Since the recipe change the food looks like vomit with lumps of blood in.
If your cat is already on Blink I would advise you change them carefully to a new brand to avoid what my two have been through. If you are not using it already, you may as well use a much cheaper food because the quality and air miles are no longer worth paying extra for.

We’ve been customers of Blink! for over a year, ever since we adopted our cat. Until recently, we were really impressed with the high-quality food and excellent customer service — on two occasions in particular, the team went above and beyond.
Unfortunately, we’ve had to cancel our subscription due to recent changes in manufacturing. The new recipes, now produced in Thailand, appear to have significantly declined in quality. The meat quality is much lower, the texture is unusually stiff, and the inclusion of tapioca is disappointing. The food also looks unappetising — something we never experienced with the original UK-made product, 2 of the new pouches even had small bits of blood in them…
It’s disappointing to see such a great product change for the worse. We hope Blink! reconsiders these changes in the future..

Sadly the same experience as many other previous customers here. Been buying blink for many years for my 3 cats. I chose this food in the first place because I wanted quality meat with no fillers which is what blink used to be. Now the recipes have added tapioca and are notably poorer quality across the range. I also had a (my first) very bad customer experience with them around the transition to the new recipe supplier where my box wasn’t delivered for weeks after I’d paid for it, and my cats will just not touch the new recipe food. The tuna recipe is just a solid lump so hard it’s not even able to be broken up with a spoon! Pretty disgusting.
I’m using what I have left of the old recipe pouches to transition my cats onto a new brand of British made, high quality , no grain (no added tapioca!) food which they have taken to well.
Very sad to see this brand’s demise after many years as a customer.

I initially left a positive review when I first subscribed to Blink, but unfortunately, my experience has gone downhill. The biggest issue with this company is the constant lack of stock for key recipes.
My cat had happily adjusted to the chicken & turkey recipe and as any cat owner knows, cats thrive on routine and familiarity, especially when it comes to food. Suddenly, that recipe was out of stock for nearly two months, and I had no choice but to switch her to chicken & duck, which took a lot of time and stress to transition.
Now, chicken & duck is out of stock too. It feels like a constant cycle of disruption. I’m stuck once again trying to force my cat to eat a new recipe she doesn’t want. This isn’t just inconvenient it’s upsetting for both of us.
Blink clearly has no concept of consistency or reliability when it comes to product availability. For a subscription-based service, this is unacceptable. A cat food company should not be gambling with cats’ diets like this.
Very disappointed and now seriously considering cancelling my subscription.

The change in manufacture is a huge loss for my cat who only eats Chicken and Gravy by this brand and refuses to go near any other food.
Now he’s spent the last few days turning his nose up at any food i try and give to him probably going to result in a trip to the vet.
The gravy recipes are a completely different smell and texture to the old ones. My cat won’t go near the bowl at all after eating the same food for over a year. This is so disappointing and the most affected are the cats, truly a shame on this company.
Now a bunch of cats without a dinner they love because of this change, including mine who will now refuse to eat anything else.

I was going to contact Blink about an issue with the new Chicken & Turkey in gravy, then read all the other reviews. I have been feeding my cat the gravy version of Blink for over a year now without an issue, until my last box arrived. My cat refuses to eat the Chicken & Turkey in the new packaging, but will thankfully still eat the other gravy varieties that have the union jack flag motif on the packaging. As there has been some serious changes to the food and manufacturing I will be cancelling my subscription and search for an alternative.

I have been brand loyal to BLINK since 2020. The products were fantastic, customer service second to none, the fact that the products were made with UK meat from red tractor farms, and all made in UK was what prompted me to become a subscriber! Unfortunately all this has now changed. My latest delivery (in a box marked all food made in Great Britain) had packets in without the made in Great Britain logo, so I contacted BLINK to ask why? They have moved production to Thialand! So for all us loyal subscribers who want environmentally friendly produced, good quality food for their pets can forget that now, because without any notification of these changes they’ve happened! The quality of animal welfare in Thialand is nothing like the UK and quality control will not be able to be checked with production happening thousands of miles away! Quality must have been compromised if you have to have it shipped from the other side of the world!
BLINK is no longer a company I can trust if they feel it is necessary to make such major changes without informing its loyal customers.
Subscription cancelled.

I chose Blink cat food when I got my kittens last year as I felt, with it's claims of being 'grain free', 'human grade quality meat', production in the UK and pouch recycling scheme, it met all of my needs. Now, a little over a year later I am completely disillusioned as a customer.
Blink has been sold, production moved out of the UK to Thailand, the food now uses tapioca as filler, the purity of ingredients once so lauded on the packaging is now buried on the website.
Further to this if you are a subscriber you will find that your subscription preferences do not matter due to Blink's ongoing 'supply issues'. This month 41% of my box was swapped out for flavours that make my cats sick or they will not eat so I do not include them in my order.
Instead of healthy, happy cats and the reassurance that their food is doing them good I have upset tummies, itchiness and the expense trying to replace the food they will not eat.

Blink has recently changed packaging and recipes, sadly both for the worse. The packaging is harder to open and takes a bit of force, which means that you will lose some to the countertop as it spills when you do get it open. It is also hard to get the bottom of the contents out with the redesign of the packaging, meaning you'll lose food when opening and more thats lost to the bottom of the pouch. Secondly, the recipes in jelly are now really congealed and are much more difficult to break down with a spoon and eat by the cat. Sadly it seems as those these changes have been rushed without any practicality testing. 2/5

We’ve been loyal Blink customers for years. Our cats always loved the Blink in Gravy range, and it became one of the very few foods they consistently enjoyed. But with the recent recipe change, everything has gone downhill — and it’s incredibly frustrating.
The biggest issues are the gravy and the meat, both of which have clearly changed for the worse. The gravy used to have a thick, hearty consistency. Now, it’s watery and thin — more like cloudy broth than proper gravy. It just pools at the bottom of the pouch and looks unappealing. The meat, which used to look tender and high quality, now appears dry, mushy, and overly processed. When you pour it out, the whole thing just looks off — and our cats clearly agree.
They used to get excited as soon as they heard a pouch open. Now they just walk over, sniff the food, and walk away without even tasting it. That shift in behaviour says it all. It’s honestly quite upsetting to see. They look confused and disappointed — and so are we.
What makes this worse is that Blink isn’t cheap. We’ve always been happy to pay a bit more for something we felt was genuinely good quality and cat-approved. But when the product changes so drastically and our cats won’t even go near it, it feels like we’re throwing money away. We’ve had to discard untouched pouches and start the stressful process of looking for alternatives again.
Sadly, this isn’t the first time Blink has done this. A few years ago, while we were subscribed to their monthly box, a very similar situation happened. I contacted customer service back then, sharing side-by-side photos and explaining the noticeable changes. The response was that “not much had changed” — but our cats’ reaction told a different story. Just like now, they refused to eat it.
The difference back then, though, was that Blink actually seemed to listen. Eventually, they brought back the thicker, more consistent gravy. And even though we noticed a change in where they sourced the meat (chicken, turkey, duck), the quality was still good enough that our cats adjusted and happily started eating it again. But this time, it feels different. The gravy is worse than ever, and the meat looks like it’s dropped in quality too. It doesn’t feel like a tweak — it feels like a total downgrade.
What’s most frustrating is that the old recipe worked. It looked good, it was consistent, and most importantly, our cats loved it. There was absolutely no need to change it. We understand minor updates happen over time, but this was not a subtle change — it was a complete overhaul. It feels like quality and consistency have taken a backseat, which is really disappointing coming from a brand we used to trust.
Finding food that works for fussy cats is hard enough. Blink in Gravy was a rare win for us — and now, we’re back to square one. Unless Blink brings back the original formula or seriously listens to long-time customer feedback, we simply can’t keep buying it.
Such a shame, especially from a brand we once recommended to other cat owners without hesitation.

I can't continue my subscription because of the recipe change. They sure did communicate the switch to tapioca but made it sound as though it won't make a difference to the food. This is most disappointing and I find their replies to other reviews that the recipe change has been minor insulting. I sometimes wonder if they know much about cats.
The tuna texture is completely different and this is absolutely HUGE for a cat. Mine wouldn't touch it and I hid some new tuna in other food. Well he threw up! And that was the end of Blink. I would have liked if they had made it clearer that the texture would change completely as I am now having to put my cat through an abrupt change in food and that means digestive issues. It really is inexcusable for a cat food brand.

Was great for the past 2 years. Unfortunately change of recipe now means cats won’t touch it and are having some rear end issues. Why fix something that wasn’t broken...
Annoyingly seemed to have changed after we received our latest 64 pack. So lots of waste of money and food. No correspondence highlighting change or recipe just did it quietly it seems.
Chicken and turkey in particular is an awful texture.
No UK logo on the packages anymore which means it’s probably made cheaper overseas now.
Shame as Blink was great but now it seems we’ll switch to use Scrumbles or Lily’s.

Gutted.
Used to rely on Blink, particularly their tuna recipe, for my cat and his allergies. It was a great addition to a limited choice of brands out there so he could rotate his meals. Blink was always the one that I could rely on to keep his bowels regular!
But now, I can no longer trust them. The poor delivery experience, the issues with stock, and then the update to the business and most crucially the big recipe change. It is no longer a high end fresh brand that I can trust for my cat's health and I am so gutted.
What a real shame

I recently bought two boxes of Blink cat food from Pets at Home and was extremely disappointed. The first pouch I opened (Tuna and Salmon) smelt absolutely rancid – nothing like fresh or good quality food. My cat, who usually isn’t fussy, completely refused to eat it.
Thinking it might just be one pouch, I opened another (Chicken and Duck), and again the smell was awful and my cat wouldn’t go near it.
For a brand that claims to use natural, high-quality ingredients, this was really concerning. I expected much better and feel like I’ve wasted my money. I won’t be buying Blink again.

I've bought Blink for several years. We moved our cats to 100% meat based diet after researching diet and health when one of our cats had cancer.
We've found it difficult to get hold of recently (West Wales), and a local pet shop told me her wholesaler is no longer listing it.
An enquiry to Blink today got this reply:
"We have now moved to a high class facility in Thailand...As we've grown in demand, we've soon realised that our current facility is too small and isn't meeting the high quality we're proud of...
We've done a lot of searching for facilities that can match our standards. Our new manufacturing facility is of highest quality, top specs & makes human food products too! In the pet food world, Thailand is a recognised & credited hub for making cat food - we already know a lot of other cat food brands are made here too. With this change, we are still following the same simple rules of our business - make great tasting recipes that does not compromise on quality... It will return in stores soon with a new look and the added tapioca which has caused the texture to be different however everything else is the same."
SO no longer 100% meat, plus food miles plus queries in my mind about welfare of ingredients.
AND a search at Companies House indicates
the "Blink" business has been sold out to a Venture Capital firm.
It baffles me that Venture Capital buyers make changes that destroy the very reason that the original business has been successful and still expect customer loyalty.
I am now faced with the task of trying to find an alternative source of food for my cats.
