COAT Paints Reviews

Numerous problems with this paint/company……I will be sticking to The Little Greene Paint company and Farrow and Ball.
Our decorator described it as the worse paint he has used not sure where the 5 star reviews come from other than paid ‘influencers!’ ( our decorator is quite laid back and more than happy to use the Little Greene Paint company Farrow and Ball). The courage is poor so it cost an extra day of labour to paint our hallway and stairs because if the additional coat or paint required (£250!).
As I had to buy via mail order - ordering in advance is tricky so I over ordered but didn’t realise the 30 days return period (which cost me another £200 in unused paint!). Apparently the paint isn’t re-sellable after 30 days - which is a night mare when factoring in Christmas!! The paint is in its sealed tin and 40 days old, not a good sign of quality and durability!!

Don’t fall for the pretty instagram pictures!!

I will be going back to the Little Greene Paint company and Farrow and Ball as they are far more reliable and better quality and value for money in my opinion!

I have now placed 6 orders so far with COAT as I start to make my new build home more homely.
The website is so informative, the sample packs are great to help choose the right colour for your rooms and the quality of the paint and different finishes is amazing! Such a great paint to work with.
I have painted most of the house myself, but I hired decorators to do my stairs area as the walls were very high. They also commented on how lovely the paint was to work with.
The customer service team are also amazing and very helpful.

I still have a few more areas to paint and will continue to order from COAT!

I've ordered three lots of paint from Coat and the experience from start to finish has been great.

Choice of colours, quality of the product, very speedy responses from the customer service team.

DPD let them down a bit with 1 tin arriving damaged and another being delivered to the wrong address, but the team at Coat sorted things on the same day for me.

Definitely recommend.

Great customer service - quick and helpful chat function through the website with a couple of questions we had about claypaint. Then, really impressed with how quickly the paint arrived.
Great to mix, only found the stir stick in the box after painting though lol but I know now for next time!

We went for Paper Plane on the ceiling and Out of Office on our bedroom walls. Using claypaint on two and flat matt on the other two, absolutely LOVE the shade, exactly the vibe we wanted. Lovely finish and nice and easy to clean up after. Really happy, can't wait to pick the next round of shades for the next room!

A 5 star service from start to finish. The peel off paint swatches were brilliant and allowed for trying different colours in different places around the room. Having chosen the colour the paint arrived within 2 days. Being new to decorating I found the online tutorials very informative and covered everything I needed to know. Having taken this advice and prepared the walls the application of the matt paint was so easy. The coverage was excellent and I’m delighted with the finished results. I also had very swift responses when dealing with the office, even over the weekend. I am now expecting a delivery of some eggshell to finish the windows and skirting. All in all a very positive experience. A huge thank you to all at COAT.

One of the best on line companies I have ever dealt with and also the paint provided by them is very much superior in coverage, pigment, ease of use to any other I have used, and I have used a lot! I painted my ‘snug’ a year ago and was so pleased with the result using Hamilton and Mr Clifton (needed only one coat too). On Wednesday just gone I ordered another tin of Hamilton to finish off behind a cupboard, I contacted Jamie, gave him my order, paid and it was here when I arrived home the next day, I was seriously blown away by the fantastic service AND the fantastic paint! Nothing was too much trouble! One very happy customer!!

I have now used Coat paint in 2 different rooms in my house. The quality of the paint and pigment of the colours is exceptional! It’s an absolute delight to use and well worth the extra money compared to standard paints I have used elsewhere. The coverage is excellent. I used Piglet in one room and Mindful in another, both were lovely on the wall and spot on in comparison to the sample sheets. I had to contact Coat about an issue re a damaged tin for my delivery of the mindful paint. The customer service was some of the best I have ever received, incredibly quick to respond and provide an excellent resolution. I dealt with Eleni and Jamie and they were both fantastic and clearly passionate about providing a high quality customer service experience.

After finally getting the right colour - since their samples aren't the same as the actual paint once it is dry. It's only been 4 months since we painted the walls and the paint has ALREADY started to peel!

We followed all their tips and instructions for preparing the walls, yet are left with horrid peeling patches that we're going to have to strip back and repaint - I'm tempted to just get a paint brand that I know is reliable, shame as the color was perfect. Let the paint hunt begin again!

Very good quality paint, but I found there was a slight difference between the sample sheets I received and the colours. This happened for two different colours. The undertone of the paint was slightly different to the sample. Both colours have now been painted over with a brand that supplies real paint samples.

I don't think it helps that the sample sheets are completely smooth - most walls aren't that smooth, so why not introduce some texture to the sample sheets? I have had sample sheets from Lick (textured) and Atelier Ellis (real paint on an A4 card) which were much more helpful in terms of accurately viewing the colour.

Also, it seems Coat curate the reviews they put on their website so it is hard to tell how many other people have had the same issues that I have had.

I recently decorated my bedroom with Coat’s Sunday Soul. It is the best quality paint I’ve used and the room looks beautiful. It’s a really warm colour and perfect for a cosy, warm, inviting room. I ordered a 5 litre tin which covered all four walls with two coats (1 small window and 2 large windows, 1 door). It has great coverage. I am planning my next project and will definitely be ordering my paint from Coat!

This is truly excellent paint! We took a while to purchase because it's relatively expensive but so glad we did! The paint goes on beautifully, is richly pigmented so the colour really changes accordinto the light 😍. Coverage is excellent! Well worth the cost! Our house is 140 years old and has walls that show their age. The flat matt paint has made a massive improvement ✨✨🙏
We'll be sticking with COAT for the rest of the renovation 🙏✨✨

We used eggshell Sunday Soul to refurbish our tired wood 22 yr old kitchen. We decided to do the best job we could so that the kitchen would last us another few years, it was structurally 100% just very dated. We prepped, primed, undercoated and applied 2 coats of eggshell. The finish is beautiful. It looks professional and the surface is hardy and easily wipeable. It has breathed new life in to our kitchen and the colour is a gorgeous soft grey but in some lights it appears slightly mushroom coloured. Its very elegant and the kitchen looks new.

Just does not match the sample unfortunately.
Customer service were great and sent me a replacement tin, when I showed picks of the creamiest yellowest green you could find, which is supposed to be quite a strong green… but nope. It’s probably two shades lighter still, and I’m left with loads of this stuff now. Will need to go over it with something cheaper as I’m now out of budget.

Recently bought my first house and went full on with COAT! I have used 8 different shades altogether throughout the house and they are really lovely, coverage is great and everyone compliments the shades. Their customer service has also been great (I missed the next day cut off time and they still managed to rush it to me!) Overall very impressed - I will have to unsubscribe from the newsletter as I am running out of rooms to paint and I don’t want to fall in love with a new shade haha FOMO is real.

Ordered the paint and realised I needed some more so paid extra for next day delivery but didn't arrive until the day after.

Once finished I had a spare pot that I hadn't used. I had to submit a request to return.

It took 3 days to receive the reply and also informed that you have to pay £5.50 for a return. I printed the label and returned the paint; Over a week later I still haven't had any communication from them to say they've received.

I think for my next project I'll use paint that can be sourced from a shop rather than faffing around like this.

Brilliant paint, so many choices in colour & love the fact that rather than a tester pot you get a “peel & stick” card which you can move around the room to check colour in different light!

Recommended to friends & family, even the decorators commented how good this paint is and excellent coverage.

Amazing paint. I will never use anything else. Nothing compare. I have used LICK before and it was awful. But coats, you only need one coat and it’s soo thick, i have tired, Pan (green), Darlington (grey) and the inclusive (deep blue), they are beautiful.
