Not the cheapest turkey crown, but this year the whole family said it was the best turkey crown we have had. We always used to have a Peachcroft Farm turkey and Copas have acquired this business. As we live near to Peachcroft Farm, we are pleased that we can collect from there.

This turkey has a good amount of fat, so was not dry what so ever. We cooked it the day before and carved it on the day. The meat was so moist. Even the left-overs remain Marist m most, and we like to cook the turkey well. Follow the instructions, no foil and no need to flip during cooking.

You also know the bird was of high welfare standards.

COPAS chose to deliver turkeys via DPD instead of FEDEX for Xmas 2024 with the result we didn't receive our turkey order on Sunday 22st Dec as promised/ as per agreed contact with customers. Apparently we're not the only ones affected..

DPD tracking confirmed receipt at Inverness depot on the Sunday, but on Monday/next day courier oddly delivered one package - but not the turkey order, although he was thanked for delivering it!

Similar to a previous review on this site, Xmas Eve message on DPD tracking site stated: 'Perishable item can no longer be delivered. Please contact COPAS turkeys for further info'.

We assume it was nabbed. Let's hope they weren't too hungry - was just a small order (thankfully) from us - the turkey roast + 2 legs. Happy to confirm family Xmas dinner not ruined either as had turkey left over in freezer from celebrating Thanksgiving.

Definitely won't be ordering from COPAS again - got a refund, but made formal complaint.
Apparently COPAS don't want to know... still awaiting call from Leona or Simon from so-called 'Turkey team' (obviously too chicken to call as a family member suggested!).

So 0 stars from us for customer service.
Won't be recommending COPAS to anyone we know (or don't!) in the future (nor DPD for perishable items).

where is my Turkey and Ham? Sitting in the couriers depot. I got a phone call from the courier saying they were unable to deliver due to Date sensitive produce. told there was a stop on delivery due to contaminaltion risk. Not good enough!!!! Ruined our christmas dinner. Thank you Copas may i suggest you use a more reliable courier.

This was the 2nd year in a row ordering a turkey crown from Copas. Our 2.6kg crown arrived on time and perfectly packaged, straight to the fridge and just left wrapped in paper. I did research cooking times, but the information provided by them said to cook it for 1 hour and then rest for at least another hour - we rested ours for 1 1/2 hours. I did think the roast time time was a bit short, however I did check it with our meat thermometer, and once the thick part of the breast got to 68 degrees, out it came.

It was the most juiciest and tastiest bird we’d ever had, please don’t overcook yours and trust the shorter cooking time for these wonderful organic birds.

Same again next year for us.

We were gifted a 6kg turkey this year and we’ve just cooked it and tried and it’s beautiful! The best turkey I’ve ever tasted in my 50 yrs! I’ll be buying next year, absolutely beautiful!!!

Excellent again. I have been getting my turkey from Copas for many years and have never been disappointed. Moist and flavourful. By far the best you can buy. Not cheap, but stealing someone’s slogan “reassuringly expensive “ I also got a cooked ham this year, wow! I glazed it with marmalade and it was delicious

We have bought turkeys and geese from Copas for the past few years and have always be very pleased until now.

However, when we unwrapped this year's goose we discovered extensive mould on the underside. I appreciate that these things can happen. However, when a company charges a premium price, as Copas do, one expects premium quality control. I emailed requesting a refund but still, ten days later, have not had any response.

Addendum: I did eventually receive a reply agreeing to a refund. There was no apology and no acknowledgment that they had spoiled Christmas. 17 days after first reporting the problem I received a refund.

We had our first Copas turkey this year, so glad we did - simply put, it was the best turkey we have ever had - and as an ex-chef, I’ve cooked quite a few.

It required less cooking time than a good supermarket bird, it was so juicy and tasty. Even the sandwiches and left overs tasted great for days!

I will definitely be ordering one again next year.

We tried a Copas turkey one Christmas and never looked back; they are so fresh, tasty, and well above premium supermarket offerings. Typically, your Turkey order is available for collection a few days before 25th December (your collection is very well organised); full storage and cooking instructions are included.

I recommend reading the Copas Turkeys FAQs before your purchase, as there is very useful information, guidance and tips.

Yet another amazing turkey from Copas! Disappointing to read some of the comments about feather stubs, folks should read up on this on the Copas FAQ page.

They use a completely different plucking technique to the supermarkets and such things are trivial to remove once cooked - if you even want/need to. Another case of supermarkets sacrificing quality for aesthetics in order to remove an inconsequential detail.

We'll be back next year as usual folks. Keep up the good work!

I was debating if i should reorder from here again this year but reading the reviews i have decided not to.
I also spent a lot of money on £85.00 but didn't mind as its once a year i also like another review spent ages plucking out feathers from under the skin.
Back to M&S it seems.

I have used this company for the last five years, the customer service has been excellent. One year they forgot my ham, when I contacted them they had the ham sent on Christmas Eve. This year I made an error and ticked the box for pick up, again they replied to my email within an hour and again I had my purchase at my door on the 22nd ! Can’t fault them.
The products themselves come with instructions and cooking timers, all very fresh, well packaged and tasty , I would recommend the chicken , turkey , ham and smoked ham for something different.

I paid over £80 for an organic free range Copas turkey from my local butchers as a special treat, given that lockdown had made 2020 a pretty glum year. The bird arrived in a lovely box, but was full of un-plucked feathers, the bases of which were below the skin and had to be dug out. It took me the better part of a day to get not even half of the feathers removed. My lovely Butcher didn't have a single available turkey (this was the 23rd of Dec) - although he did offer me his own (which I refused)! Copas offered my butcher a refund of half the wholesale price. Not good enough! - and nowhere compensation for the poor quality and inconvenience. Despite this The Teddington Butcher gave me a full refund. Will never buy a Copas turkey again.
