I purchased the 10TB Ultimate Stackcommerce offer in November of 2020 and was using it with no problems up until April of 2022. I had read negative reviews of the service before buying the subscription but none of the complaints seemed to apply to me; most of them were about copyright claims taking down their accounts without notice (I'm not uploading copyrighted material) or the lack of features the service provides (I only need the service as a cloud backup and was not needing any kind of automatic sync or any service other than sharing the odd file). The service was working fine, I was getting good upload speeds and I didn't have any complaints.
HOWEVER, this all changed in April of 2022. The main reason I went with this service was because I upload a large amount of large file, hence why I purchased the 10TB option. But at the beginning of April when I tried to upload one of my files I got an error telling me I can no longer upload files larger than 1GB. There was no warning, I received no email informing me of this change, and I had no option of getting grandfathered in seeing as I already had an account prior to this change.
So now this service is essentially useless to me. Thus far I have only used 1.5TB of my 10TB and the remaining 8.5TB is basically unusable . Will I get compensation for the remaining TB's that I can no longer use? Of course not.
If they were going to make this change, I would have appreciated transparency about the change and a warning. But now I'm SOL.
I purchased 10TB lifetime plan for Degoo from stacksocial offer, and from the first week of using Degoo I came to realise it is not a very good cloud storage option. Rather it is more of a cloud backup service. Because, videos that I upload in Degoo have seriously slow upload and download speeds. and also it playbacks very slowly bufferign a lot. Whereas, archived rar files upload and download blazing fast.
So I decided to just archive my work related rar files for easy access when needed. I uploaded around 600gb+ files into Degoo, and sorted it into categories organising it.
Yesterday when I was trying to get a file from it, I realised that none of the archives are there in my cloud. Only the parent folder remains. All sub folders and files are missing.
I noticed the total space usage in account settings also reduced from 900gb+ to around 300gb.
All my files is seem to be lost.
I have raised a support ticket, to which I didn't got any response yet.
Seriously this is a huge redflag. Just losing files we backed up to cloud storage we purchased.
Very good ways of storing photos and videos. I would recommend this to anyone without a doubt.
Upon reading the negative reviews of Degoo, I could not understand the issue. I got a great deal via StackSocial on a lifetime sub and it was working well. The amount of storage was fantastic for large video files that I needed to backup (since Zoom has limited storage space). My purchase was a 2-fer, so I gave the other sub to an organization I work with that uses Zoom a lot. Then at the end of March, while uploading many files, some files got stuck at the processsing stage and would not complete. After a couple days of rebooting and retrying, I submitted a support ticket. The next day I decided to try again and a pop-up showed that uploads were limited to 1GB in file size and that I had to upgrade to do more. First of all, it is unethical (shady is an understatement) to apply such a limit retroactively to existing customers (I can understand it for new ones), especially when it defeats the point of why I got the subscription. Second, I had the highest plan they offer: there was no way to upgrade. I submitted another ticket asking what was happening. I got a response to the first ticket that they would look into the issue (of course, the issue ended up being that it was my over 1GB files not finishing and thus were being limited without prior notice); I got a response to the second ticket that they would look into the cap, and he came back stating that was the new limit on my subscription (not even answering how I could upgrade to allow for more). So, bottom line, this service is not consumer friendly. Unless you dont really care about what you're uploading, do NOT subscribe to them or pay them any money. The illicit way of doing business is the reason why they get 1 star.
Its helpful in a lot of ways because i can store many things i also love on how easy the U.I is thank you very much♥️♥️♥️
They just implemented a maximum file uploade size of < 1 GB on 10TB ultimate plans.
No warning, just implemented. The only way I found out was by uploads not working. Took 2 weeks for tech support to get back to me.
Is a good storage server. Plenty space and have never had any issues
Despite my repetitive firm requests, Degoo continues making my files available outside Degoo.
I use Degoo for some years and I'm very satisfied with it! It's comfortable and save place in my handy, my photos are available everywhere, where we have Internet connection!
We get lots of free cloud storage but upload and download speed is very slow
It is a great photo and video storage service, but I think it lacks the option to cast photos and videos on TV.
Ads are displayed even when paying for the service.
