I have recently found this review board while I was Googling for "DigitalOcean Sucks", and I have a story about DigitalOcean antics that I want to share. Last summer I needed a VPS for a personal project, I wanted to try first the service before getting their premium plan, right after I signed up for the basic $5/mo plan, they locked my account...what? Sent a ticked the same day (it was June 30), they answered me only on Aug 27! I got a canned answer about their internal tools caught patterns associated with fraudulent behaviour.
How this was even possible I don't know, since I didn't even had the chance to do literally anything.
As of today, my account is still locked and I cannot even access the setting or remove my personal and payment information. I opened a ticket asking that they remove my personal and payment information and close/delete the account. Guess what? I never had any answer they just keep my personal data as an hostage, how is this even legal?
And look at the cookie cutter answers they provide, someone from the marketing department, just go around the board here and there and copy and paste the same answers to reviewers, taking laziness to the next level. Worst service ever, stay away from those clowns, I would not go back to DO even if "they" pay me.
I want my payment and private information removed and at Do nobody seems to care, they seems to lack motivation, so I will file a privacy complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada explaining the situation, maybe that can fix it.

As expected, they answered to this post "like they did for other post as well" with the usual copy&paste answer. Oh yeah, your security systems are doing such a "great" job lol, are you for real? Opening a ticket, again? Are you kidding me? I opened a ticket and you waited 2 months to answer, just to reply with a nonsensical canned answer sent by a bot! I recently opened a new ticket asking you to delete my account, still no answer, you are such liars and bullshitters and your support sucks so bad, I swear, I have never experienced something that bad, you literally have no support at all, you just use bot to automate your tickets answers. Paradoxically, you are very quick to answer on this board than on your ticketing service, your business practice and customers service don't make any sense whatsoever.
Digital Ocean is still holding my personal and payment information, the account was not deleted as requested. This is very shady, unethical, and probably illegal. I don't even care anymore. FU Digital Ocean.
