Refusal to Honor Cancellation Policy

I made a reservation for a car rental in another country in 35 days, I chose to do my rental with Economy Bookings because they allowed full refund if cancellation is over 48 hours in advance. Unfortunately due to travel restrictions set forth by the military due to the COVID-19 virus we have to cancel our travel plans. The website has blocked all cancellations and the phone number hangs up when I try to call. Economy Bookings has effectively made cancellation impossible with no one we can contact. You can get a voucher for future travel, but I don't want to ever use this company again. Refusal to honor their cancellation policy is very dishonest.

Pretty sure I've been scammed

Booked a car for the next day through Economy Bookings, and an hour later was sent a reservation number for a car provided by Thrifty. I called Thrifty just to make sure the reservation would work, and they couldn't find my reservation anywhere in their system, by name or reservation. I tried calling the Economy Bookings "customer service" number, but every time I try it I come right to a voicemail that says I am outside of their business hours (pretty sure it always says that). Had to make a new booking through Enterprise. When looking up the company, I found a ton of fake 5-star reviews mixed with honest 1-star reviews like the ones on Yelp. Pretty sure I've been scammed, and not certain if I will ever get my money back.

I am very grateful to the company for the approach in this situation because of the virus. Our trip to Italy was canceled and EconomyBookings offered me to recover the loss of the Compensation Voucher. The so-called voucher is valid for 12 months. During the year I can use it to pay for my future reservation. It is very profitable and enjoyable on the part of the company's reputation, and so could lose money

The price on the site is true, no surprises with the price, the car was provided clean.

Booked a 'Nissan Teana or similar'…

Booked a 'Nissan Teana or similar' which is a mid size car. The photo showed it was a 2013 onwards model. Upon arrival I was given the keys to a 16 year old Nissan Bluebird instead, which is a small car. After complaining I was 'upgraded' to a 2010 Toyota Corolla sedan, also a small car. No other cars were available. Sent an email to Economy Bookings asking how what I booked and what I received can be so different. Received some half assed reply a week later.

Delighted that EconomyBookings accepted and charged me a very reasonable drop off fee after our plans changes. It made our holiday much more practical and enjoyable and they could have made it difficult and expensive

Avoid at any cost!

I have booked a car through EconomyBookings.com (America car rental in Playa del Carmen, Mexico). On pickup arrival I was told that they don't have a car I have booked and got confirmation for.

They tried to up-sale me with premium class car which they had in the pickup location. I have refused to pay more money. We came to the conclusion that they will cancel my booking as they have 'no cars available on site' and refund me.

After that, I have immediately contacted the economybookings.com with the situation and asked them to refund me as I haven't received the service I have paid for. They replied me with nonsense excuses why they will not refund me. First they claimed they won't refund me because I didn't show up to pick up the car. Another claim was that I didn't have a "special" credit card. Afterwards they just stopped replying...

Two months later I still don't have my money... I hope someone will file a case on them soon, sue them and close this place down! I mean it.

Stop rob the people, we are not charity community to support your black business!

Avoid at any cost!! There are plenty of other good rental services. Don't be tricked by the price this company offering.

Important: Also avoid their useless insurance, not recognised by the rental company which will tell you to buy also their normal insurance.

Cancelled a booking and have been waiting months for a refund. Have called and the customer service experience is extremely poor. They constantly put back the date when you can expect to receive your money. Be very wary before using this company.

i made a cancellation and been waiting for a refund going on three months now, made another reservation and purchased insurance and when i got to the rental place to pick up car i had to pay insurance again because they said the economy bookings still didn't have emailed them the insurance information. And trying to get customer service is non existent. i recommend not to use. And never buy car insurance for your rental thru these reservation sites

I had made a booking and paid in advance of travelling. When I got to the rental desk I was refused a car- said they suspected fraud. I have Been chasing a refund for over a year.
I have made more than 20 phone calls, various emails. Everytime I call I am told customer services do not have a phone line and they will contact you by email- and the trail goes cold for Another 28 days.

I cancelled my booking 4 months in advance. And after a month of me calling for my refund I still don't have it. It's over the 5 to 21 business days and still getting told it's the finance department holding it up. Avoid this company. I haven't heard anything good from people who have used them in the past missed pick ups car's that are dirty inside and even a car that looked like it was in an accident.
