One and Done

I just got my first and last box. The packaging was pretty good, and it was cold. I realize this is a low cost meal kit but the meat portions are super stingy. I am also very annoyed by the potatoes. All three of my meals came with potatoes. Instead of sending a few large potatoes they sent me 15 mini potatoes. I hate peeling potatoes and making mashed potatoes out of bite sized spuds is absolutely ridiculous. I’m not even sure if I have all the ingredients I need for all three meals. I do know I am underwhelmed with the small amount of ingredients they provided such as sour cream and sock concentrate. I guess you truly do get what you pay for. Ordering a meal kit is supposed to make life easier, but the ridiculous amount of peeling and chopping required because of the way they source the ingredients is not worth it, and the portions are just not realistic for real people. After looking at four weeks of menus, I am also unimpressed by the lack of variety. You essentially get the same basic menus every week with little variance. All in all, this is just not gonna work for me.

Update: I just fixed the steak meal. I froze it. One piece of steak was nothing but gristle I could not even cut through it. I tried to cut around it cut it out before I cooked it could not be done with my best knife. I ended up throwing away about three force of that steak and about a third of the other one it was nothing but fat and gristle. This food is low quality and I will never order from them or from hello fresh again. Hello gristle.

Horrible customer service and Clickbait emails

We weren't really into the menus, so I put multiple weeks on pause thinking we might order again. I ended up cancelling our subscription completely because of the completely ridiculous and predatory emails. Even after unsubscribing to emails and cancelling the subscription, I was still getting emails with titles like, "Your Everyplate Box Is On The Way!" Which opens to a "click here to track it" email. I have gone to my Everyplate and bank accounts repeatedly to make sure it's not, because it shouldn't be. It is literally just an ad to try and force me back to their page! When I sent an email to their support to complain about the clickbait titles that scare me into thinking they're charging me for things I haven't ordered, I got an automated response that it couldn't be sent through. Now I get 1-2 of these a day! Is this another weird marketing tactic so I can't just cancel and forget about their horrible service and practices? I've blocked everything now, but the hassle of just trying to cancel and make sure it's cancelled has been ridiculous. The food wasn't amazing but it wasn't bad and it was not worth the terrible customer service.

I’ve spoken to management three times…

I’ve spoken to management three times after on line cancellation didn’t work. I’ve now gotten my third guaranteed cancellation box of food. I now have customer service with Marcus on speed dial to complain about cancelling their service.

Food Credits does not equal to Money Stolen

Week after week I would get pork or chicken packages that would leak all over the produce and packaging inside the box. And every week I would call EveryPlate for them to issue me a credit that would be pushed onto the following week's food charges. This was ongoing for every single delivery until 2/9/2021. I opened the box and pork blood was all over the box, into the produce and leaking from a package of pork. The chicken would also leak later on (I did not catch this until later). So I called EveryPlate and asked for my money back and please cancel my subscription. I can no longer depend on 3 meals that would be tainted and poisoned by pork blood, which would then have me go to the market for an extra trip to make up for this continual debacle.
This week, they sent the wrong produce, no menu or food instruction cards, one instruction card for a meal they sent that I'm severely allergic to, along with tainted pork that bled everywhere through the non-sealed pouch. Also, the chicken leaked but was not identified initially because it only leaked white chicken juice instead of the red blood from the pork pouch. I wish I could attach those pics.
I ended up speaking to Tyesha. She was the rudest and most rotten human I have ever encountered. She would not listen to my situation or frustration, instead refused to give me back my entire $38.93 but only gave me back $25.15 because of the credits applied. Mind you, these are the credits applied because EveryPlate would send me poisoned and tainted foods. I would have happily paid full price every week if I would be sent what was promised: Edible Food. I was not. Instead I was given a credit week by week. Every time they sent chicken with holes in the packaging, I would call customer service and get another credit, then have to drive to the grocery store to buy new food to replace the delivered food that EveryPlate was trying to kill me with. It was an endless cycle.
But now I know how EveryPlate works. It gives credit in order to steal your money. I am owed $13.78 (money I paid for fresh and edible food) but was given tainted or rotten food and also refused the money I paid.
This is a form of money laundering and fraud. It's on a small scale with me, but with other customers this can be a definite profit by stealing customer's money and returning food credit to them.
Tyesha hung up on me and became the main reason to quit EveryPlate. I am done ordering poisoned food only to be treated like a criminal. You guys took my money. You guys sent bad and tainted food that would have killed me and my family, especially during this crazy coronavirus time. Then refused to pay me back the money because Tyesha said they gave enough credits to me. You caused the problem to give me credits instead of the cash I gave you then hang up on me in the first place. The benefit of the doubt is hazardous with this company.
Do not join them or give them your hard earned. These guys hire terrible women like Tyesha and refuse to give you what is yours to begin with: Your own money.
Shame on you and your employee. Since I can't attach pics or videos, I am definitely going to post these on all social media outlets.

Give me back my $13.78 so I can never have to deal with you ever again. We can go our separate ways.

Good recipes, bad service

Recipes are actually really good, when the produce isn't of poor quality and goes bad within 4 days. Not a bad deal when you get the discounted starting prices though.

Also have fun if you ever need help from customer service. Supposedly 24/7 online chat. Well that chat will close out if your phone screen times out while you are waiting. And phone support, 2 attempts with 40 minutes waiting for a connection to a person each time.

Then my last box was 4 days late. They sent an email with a whole $5 off my next box. Useless as I already cancelled service.

Parent company Hello Fresh is just as bad for my girlfriend.

It's a cheaper alternative, BUT...

I've had couple of boxes from them and others. I've been comparing my experiences with more expensive competitors since they claim that they have the same quality service for less money. I will say that the food is great. I almost loved every single one I've gotten. The recipes are slightly more limited compared to other companies I've tried, but there's still many options out there. Another benefit to this is the cost. I had to pay maybe $60-70 per box for other companies, but this one only costs maybe $25-35 per box. (side note: I get 2 servings of 3 meals per week). So that's pretty much half the cost of the competitors. The one issue I've had with this company is that one or two ingredients in the box are missing EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. If I'm paying for all the food to be delivered, of course it's upsetting when I don't have the necessary ingredients to make the food. I could go get the food from a grocery store, but that really defeats the whole purpose of these boxes, doesn't it? Another issue is the quality of the food. It is VERY bad. The fresh vegetables they provide you feels like it's about to go bad in a day. You can't store the food in the refrigerator for long without it going back in about two or three days. I know that this company is based off of another popular company, so I have a feeling that they just sent the leftover vegetables that they have from the more expensive company to here. Another issue that I've had with them is that I can never get a hold of their customer service. I've had to contact them maybe about three or four times, and I end up just hanging up because I've been on the line for over and hour. Finally, this may be a very small detail, but it was harder to reschedule the boxes for another day. They have the website set up so that you get the boxes on one specific day (eg. every Thursday). That's great if you have a consistent schedule in your life, but for me, I need to be able to change the dates to have the boxes picked up while I'm at home. They do say that the food in the boxes last about 48 hours, but I don't really feel comfortable with the box just sitting outside for over a couple of hours. Overall, if you don't mind the customer service and the missing ingredients, this is a cheaper alternative for you.

Stay Away

There's always missing ingredients and quality of produce it horrible! The customer service is rude and unhelpful. When you call they promise a credit for missing ingredients but don't follow thru. Most recently they completely changed my order and when I attempted to call to cancel for the week as not a single meal they want to send is something we'd eat there was no answer after spending literally all morning trying to contact them. They may not be aware but I screen shot where I put in the orders, our conversations online including the promise of credit and document everything since the first time my order was short.

Missing Product and Literally No Customer Service

Signed up for this service and the first week was great. The second week my box never arrived and I have still been charged! No one answers the phone or chat windows. No one from the company ever reached out to explain any issues. I did see online that they may have been delayed due to the snowstorm, but the snow was done 3 days before my box was due so I’m not sure. Regardless you shouldn’t be charging people for a service you can’t provide, and then fail to provide any customer service follow up!

If I could I will give them zero stars

If I could I will give them zero stars. I've been waiting on my box and I havent received anything yet. Customer service dint even answer the phone. Worse service ever. I am not happy with EverPlate, shame on them. Is my first and last experience with this type of company, horrible.

Had a snow storm

Had a snow storm, so delays are expected. However, the package was supposed to be here Tuesday, and its still not here on Friday. The roads are clear of any snow and have been for a couple days now. Their delivery service is very poor. When I went to talk to support on their 24/7 chat support, they left me sit there for over 30 minutes without even answering me. They charged me for products I never received. The service and delivery are horrible. The box shows up with all your food piled in one lump and messy. Box is not packed neatly. Horrible service. No wonder its so cheap.

Decent food but unpredictable delivery and missing ingredients

The food was decent and the price was reasonable....however
In the 2 months I used the plan it arrived once on the scheduled date. I never knew what day it was actually showing up. Four times I was missing ingredients. Once I had the ingredients in my kitchen to make a substitution but otherwise it meant a trip to the grocery store. The last straw was when the food was not delivered at all. I understand that the delivery company was the issue, but I was never notified. I had to call and wait online for 40 minutes to find out I was out of luck.

NO PRODUCT AND STILL CHARGED!

Absolute disgrace of customer service and general business ethics. Charged for a box that never showed up, no communication about it, spent hours trying to get through to customer support to get a refund and STILL CAN'T GET IN TOUCH OR GET MY MONEY BACK. How can you charge everyone for a product that never came? And how can you keep posting on social media like nothing is going on when hundreds of customers are being wrongfully charged? Absolutely ridiculous

Did not receive product and charged

Did not receive product, charged for 3 meals. Customer service does not answer phone, chat doesn't work. Will file complaints with BBB and Consumer Protection Agency. Scam...buyer beware!

0 customer service

The issue here wasn’t the food which was actually decent for the money. The issue was what I discovered the first time there was a problem with delivery, there is absolutely no way to contact customer service. I (and many others based on Facebook) spent hours on hold trying to get ahold of EveryPlate CS this week and never actually spoke with a person because they never answered their phones or live chat. They don’t have a form or an email address that customers can use to submit issues. So you get stuck on hold with absolutely no way of filing your complaint. The only way we were able to resolve our issue was by canceling and opening cases with the BBB and our bank.

Customers are considered last

Going by the information on their website my food was packed on Jan 30, several days before a well predicted snowstorm. But they had a warehouse full of food and Everyplate figured that we are animals and would eat anything. It finally arrived on Feb 4 at 6:30 and we were out to dinner. So we will technically be eating the 3rd dinner on Feb 7, so good!

Bad delivery, hidden charge

Got my “free box” realized I was charged for fees which it didn’t say when I bought it. Anyway the first package was delivered right away in the morning seamlessly and on time. No qualms about the food. However today I was supposed to get my second package. Latest arrival was 8pm, I see the person is in my apt. Complex at 6pm. I had been waiting all day so I continue working. Then I look at my phone a few minutes later at see a missed call and “order failed.” The delivery person was in my apartment complex for about 5 minutes- clearly didn’t look for my building at marked it a “fail.” Currently been on hold with customer service for 30 minutes. Will be asking for a refund and cancelling my subscription. I’m not going to wait another 24 hours for them to “try” to redeliver it tomorrow. Who knows what happens to my box in the time it’s been driving around in a car all day then, what? Goes to a warehouse to wait to be delivered until another 24 hours later? No thanks. I’ll just use Instacart. They don’t have a problem following directions.

Update: the customer service woman was very kind and gave me a refund when I expressed I was not comfortable waiting another 24 hours for the box to be delivered. Still don’t want to deal with the risk of this issue happening every week, as the service was supposed to make life easier not more complicated.

2nd update: it is now the next day, driver dropped off the package. The box is soggy, looks like it has been unpackaged and repackaged. And the box is completely beat up... not feeling good about eating the food. What a waste

Say YES to EveryPlate

This is my 18th week with EveryPlate and am thrilled with the service. The food has always been fresh, easy to prepare and delicious. I love that I am no longer wasting food and don’t have a million spices and condiments in my kitchen that I only use once. They provide exactly what I need for each meal. I feel spoiled getting a food service but realize I am actually saving money! For full transparency, I will say last week my box was missing a couple minor items. (A tomato and two limes). I called to let them know. The customer service agent was an absolute gem! They exceeded my expectations. So, if you are looking for something to save you time and money, I say give EveryPlate a shot!
