Incompetent company that allows fraud

Have never used this company willingly. Someone stole my information and opened an account in my name in June. Flexiti did not do any sort of security check so the purchaser was able to place a $3000 charge under my name. A few months later I got a bill in the mail saying that I was behind on my payments. I called and let Flexiti know that it was fraud. They assured me that it was dealt with on their end and the case was closed. 4 months later they sent the case to collections and dinged my credit score by 70+ points. So far I have spent over 3 hours on the phone with the collections agency, the RCMP and Equifax trying to get this straightend out. This never should have happened. This company is incompetent. I would give zero stars if possible.

Website login and app technical issues

I can’t log in to see my balance. I clicked the “forgot user ID” so they sent me an email with the user ID. I go to login again, enter that user ID and get the error “wrong user ID”. Like this is the simplest stuff to fix and they still haven’t gotten that figured out.

Flexiti will not cancel membership fee. Bought a stereo receiver from Visions…

Bought a stereo receiver from Visions thinking my original was not working. I found out it was working, so I cancelled the purchase before it was delivered or installed. Visions withdrew the charge on the Flexiti card but i am getting charged for $167.00 annual membership fee. I spoke with Flexiti to cancel the card completely. They said this would be noted but i had to get Visions to start the process to cancel! Why? its not a product from Visions. I cannot reach Visions now. They hang up when i ask for someone who handles the Flexiti card. I guess i have to get a news channel involved now. Meanwhile, Flexiti is billing me $25.66 per month for something i will never use.

Title: Beware of Flexiti: An Unreliable Financial Institution

Review:

I recently had a highly disappointing experience with Flexiti, a financial institution that claims to provide easy and convenient services. Unfortunately, my encounter with them has left me with a strong belief that the Canadian government should take notice of their questionable practices and protect consumers from being cheated.

First and foremost, the reliability of Flexiti is severely lacking. During my interaction with them, I encountered numerous issues that made me question the integrity of their operations. One of the most frustrating aspects was their inconsistent customer service. Whenever I tried to reach out for assistance with my concerns, I was met with long wait times, unhelpful representatives, and a general lack of accountability. It became abundantly clear that Flexiti does not prioritize customer satisfaction or prompt issue resolution.

Moreover, Flexiti's lending practices appear to be designed to take advantage of vulnerable individuals. They employ tactics that seem to intentionally mislead and deceive unsuspecting customers. For instance, their advertising often promises low-interest rates and flexible repayment plans. However, when it came time to finalize my loan agreement, I discovered hidden fees and exorbitant interest rates that were never disclosed upfront. It felt like a bait-and-switch scenario, leaving me feeling cheated and taken advantage of.

In my opinion, the Canadian government should be made aware of these unscrupulous practices. Financial institutions like Flexiti should be held accountable for their actions and prevented from preying on vulnerable individuals who are seeking financial assistance. Stricter regulations and oversight are necessary to protect consumers from falling victim to these unfair and deceptive practices.

In conclusion, I cannot stress enough how unreliable and untrustworthy I found Flexiti to be. My personal experience with them was nothing short of a nightmare, and it is my sincere hope that others can be spared from such an ordeal. It is crucial for the government of Canada to address these concerns and take appropriate action against financial institutions that engage in deceptive practices.

worst experience

I bought a necklace for my son from Peoples last year March 2022 using my Flexiti. I don’t know how to use the online to check my statement so I called customer service this year on March 16th, 2023, to ask when is my due date for payment, because I don’t want to pay for late charges. The representative told me my due date is March 23, 2023, and I repeated it back to her and said yes. I even wrote the due date on my note. Therefore, I paid off my balance on the day of my due date.

After a few months, I got a statement, saying I have a balance of $700+ for the late fee. Little did I know that the representative gave me the wrong due date, it was supposed to be March 20th, 2023. Therefore, I called again customer service and let them know that their representative gave me the wrong information. Now they telling me that I never called on March 16th, 2023 according to their record, but I do have a proof/screenshot that I called them on that day.

The manager named Crystal, said that they will trace the recorded conversation on March 16th, 2023. It’s almost 2 months but she never call me back to update what was going on. That’s why I keep calling them and they never traced my recorded conversation with their representative.

I asked to waive off my balance since it was their representative’s fault for giving me the wrong due date and they never tracked my conversation with her. In the end, they only gave me 50% off and I paid it (paid $ 376.36 on June 19th, 2023) even though it was not my fault just to get it over. I was so pretty disappointed. I’ve been using a lot of credit cards and paid them off on time.

Update July 5, 2023: Now they charged me again $ 15.74 for the interest because they’re saying that I didn’t give them a call on June 19, 2023, that I paid. FIRST OF ALL, THEY DIDN’T GIVE ME CLEAR INSTRUCTIONS THE LAST TIME I CALLED THEM (JUNE 19, 2023) THAT DUE TO MY CASE I NEED TO CALL AGAIN TO LET THEM KNOW THAT I ALREADY PAID. Besides that, I mentioned that I’m going to make a payment on that day, so they should do their job to check it and waive off the other 50% off so I won’t get charged for the interest.

I feel like I’m doing their job to fix my own case. What an irresponsible credit card staff and management company! They never call me back to give updates, never traced the recorded conversation with the representative and didn’t give me clear instructions. It took 2 months to resolve this case. This was the worst experience I encountered.

Total scam, can't even reach them by phone

Total scam buyers beware.

I bought something from sleep-country, and they lied to me and told me I can setup interest free payments, and pay the same amount over 12 months, I asked them more than 5 times if I would pay interest at any point, they told me: No.

6 months later, I get a bunch of added interest on my account .. that I have "automatic payments" setup on, turns out, they just raised the fee somewhere hidden inside of a statement, and my automatic payments have been coming short, and accumulating interest.

I only noticed the accumulation of interest when I decided to go through a detailed statement ... and to make matters MUCH MUCH worse they are now giving me the proverbial middle finger, and sticking my calls in a loop, where it keeps redirecting me to enter my information, and can't get a rep on the line for almost an hour.

BE AWARE, avoid purchases using Flexiti

Trustpilot reviews are TRUE and honest. Don’t go with google reviews those I guess are not giving right views of Flexiti Credit Card (financial), those might be for some different products. Because I had horrified experience with Flexiti credit card which allow equal monthly payments on purchases (e.g. Bricks, Staples etc). This is nothing but the SCAM to TRAP customers through these companies.
I guess, Flexiti INNOVATED a new way to CHEAT customers. Multiple times they charged interest and deferral fees on my account for promotion ending in middle of the statement period without any Intimation and just by saying its customers responsibility. I don't check my account statement transactions in details, just pay my monthly statement dues well in time and diligently. But I was lucky, just going thru last statement and identified these charges and fees charged at different times. It's not FAIR, Flexiti track everything by SOFTWARE and wont even feel to inform customer about it. They intentionally don't generate separate statement for each promotion (that they track for end date) but just send a monthly statement to fool customer. Monthly statement just provides a amount due on that date only and mentions about all promotions on last page. I found Flexiti customer agent and supervisor was adamant, RUDE and were happy to close my account after receiving deferred charges. I paid their UNFAIR deferred fees and closed my Flexiti account. I learnt my lesson and I will never use Flexiti or it’s products in future and would suggest you to avoid it!

This company doesn’t worth even 1 star

This company doesn’t worth even 1 star. The worst financial company I have ever seen. They have no customer service. Their representatives do not know about the process of payment and in the end, they will charge your account with high-interest rate. They charged my account $823.35 for a purchase of $2626.02 even after paying off the whole purchase before the due date. I tried to contact the manager for more than 4 months, but nobody cares about my calls. I would close the Flexiti account, and I will ask all my friends and families to cancel their accounts with Flexiti. It is not fair to pay $823.35 interest on a purchase of $2626.02 of a wedding ring. I used Flexiti because of financial difficulties but they made my problem worse. I don't need to do business with a financial institution that does not have trained representatives and responsible managers. Do not give your money to this company that treats their customers awfully.

Do not trust Flexiti !

Be careful when dealing with Flexiti , you can get hit with a lot of hidden charges , I missed to pay the first installment on $650 amount and the next thing they started charging me with monthly 103$ interest and 150$ credit insurance on a payment of 650$ , that is not logical and not realistic , I only noticed that after 3 months because I don't usually check online statement on those credits cards , of course they never sent an email or call to warn me about the extra charges , i believe they are scammers and they take advantage of the situation , I ended up paying double the borrowed amount of 650$ Just because I defaulted the first installment . I will be closing my account with flexiti as I have no trust in their services.

Awful company

Awful company. Equal payments interest free for 12 months is a scam. They load you up with interest and disable your access to the portal where you can actually see your account. Record your conversations with this company cause it seems newer employees can’t keep up with the lies. Avoid any business with this company at all costs. Formal complaint has been filed.

Unhelpful,clueless company

On a Deferred payment, they were still trying to charge me monthly,I call and after going through what seemed to be 5 mins of non stop verification questions, they told me I would have to take a photo of my id and send it to them.I told them considering my bank,my credit card, hell the govt doesnt ask me that let alone 5 mins of verification questions,I told them they could pound salt(in other words lol).I just paid everything off and i'm shredding the card. They seem to think they are some kind of swiss bank when they are only a high interest credit company.Don't deal with them.

Extortionately high interest

We purchased furniture at La-z-boy in November 2021 and were told by our sales consultant as well as the finance rep. there that we would not be billed until the items were delivered.
The finance plan we were encouraged to take was the payment deferred for 14 months plan, with the assurance that we don’t have to worry about paying any of it back until 2023.
This was one of the main deciding factors to purchase.
Because why should we be billed for items we have not received.

The first delivery was Dec.1st, 2021, second Dec. 14, 2021 final delivery May/2022.
That would make repayment due dates: Feb.1, 2023, Feb. 14,2023 and July, 2023

In first delivery there was a curio cabinet that was missing a glass shelf.
We informed the sales consultant of that immediately.

The second point of contention is the interest we were charged by Flexiti, La-z-boys financier.
I received a statement which shocked me traumatically when I saw it!! I called Flexiti to discuss the extortionate interest charged of $5366.49 on a balance owing of $4436.38!!

Despite several and constant follow ups: calls, texts, emails, visits to the store, messages left for and conversations with the sales consultant, and then the assistant manager, manager and customer service director, these issues have remained unresolved.

Having to deal with this issue for the past month, with the multiple calls to Flexiti customer service, the waiting period, and communications with several people telling me that nothing could be done about the interest, not only has been very concerning, but also wasted my time, because I have had to deal with this issue and leave work to visit the La-Z-Boy store in person on 2 occasions and taken time to call and email.

Flexiti confirmed we have the 14 month deferral plan, but it became due at the beginning of January, whereas we were told the agreement would not take effect until the furniture was delivered which is why I was under the impression that we had the whole of January to pay it.
When we went into the La-Z-Boy store, the manager, Angela Andrey, also confirmed that we have the 14 month deferral plan, and their policy is that it will not be billed until the furniture is delivered.

The second time I spoke with the supervisor at Flexiti, I was told the floor manager offered me a 25% reduction in interest. That is only about $1000!!!
$4000 of interest is still expected, when I should not have to pay any interest on the total transaction amount.

The most Flexiti is willing to decrease the 5400 of interest is 40%, but that STILL amounts to $3220. La-z-boy is not willing to help me at all, which is REALLY astonishing and disappointing.

I do not have that amount. I just paid $8500 to Flexiti.
& we do not know if we will ever receive the glass shelf that has been missing from day 1
