Anybody giving this load of thieves 5 stars must either work for them or they’re being paid for to write fake reviews , Goldcar , a bunch off bandits , at least Richard Turpin had the decency to wear a mask
DO NOT USE CARJET or their SCAM PARTNERS GOLDCAR !!!
We booked online with Carjet to save time paying on pick up. A 4 day hire on Crete was on the Carjet site as 36 Euros for the 4 days plus 22 Euros for the full insurance. 58 Euros for the 4 days with full cover. We arrive at 10.30pm at Goldcar to pick our car up only to be told & I quote the extra insurance we had paid to Carjet was a bul..hit policy & Goldcar won't honour it should we have a knock. Then the hard sell started. We were told there was a 22 Euro admin fee to pay for the Carjet booking & we needed to pay for another insurance at a cost of a further 124 Euros or we couldn't take the car. The 124 Euros did include 85 Euros worth of fuel, an unlikely amount in a Toyota Yaris.
This made a total of nearly 200 Euros for 4 days, an absolute RIP OFF. The aggressive pushy sales person was very intimidating & we felt pushed into a corner. He even asked for a signature on the damage sheet before we had inspected the car.
As a business owner I hate it when companies adopt these awful business practices. Genuinely I hope Carjet & Goldcar are investigated for bad practice & are struck off.
If the system would allow I would rate both of these companies a minus 100 rating.
Arrived late after 12:09 and office was closed so paid for taxi to hotel and came back next morning again extra taxi payment to refuse the car even though we paid for a week and their reason was you missed yesterday and we gave the car away

Booked holiday with Jet2, flights, villa and car hire in fuerterventura, the car voucher was for interent, but that was closed with a sign to go to Goldcar, they asked for credit card for deposit, collected car, a Ford Focus, a right old nail of a car, Scratches and dents everywhere and 2 wheel rims missing, which was on paperwork but we filmed the car anyway. When we arrived back home we checked our card and they had taken out €1500, can’t get through on their website as it won’t recognise the contract no. and we can’t get through to speak to anyone. NIGHTMARE,AVOID!!
I never saw my deposit back. Contacted the customer service multiple times. They always say something different and then disappear. Will never use their service again

They are cheaters!!! Worst company i ever rent a car!! NEVER RENT A CAR FROM THIS COMPANY!!!! I have rented 3 times a car from this company and allways the same problem. i have booked once via Ryanair website a car with full insurance with about 100Euros for 5 days and on arrival i got to pay more 150Euros because was not full covered as they say and for tank! The same happened with the other cars in Lanzarote and Tenerife too. I allways booked full insurance before to get the car to have my mind on peace and allways Goldcar told me the insurance is not full but you have to pay EXTRA! I wish one day they close this company, they think they can lie and cheat!
Warning SCAMMERS ! be very aware that this firm will charge your credit card for existing damage to a vehicle even if you have photo evidence and have reported it to them and been issued a signed statenent from their airport staff. They do not respond to their customer service reports online and have no phone access. Best way to avoid this scam is to avoid them. The same treatment from Interrent their sister company.
Having read lots of reviews I was somewhat concerned about using Goldcar for my Ibiza trip.. I shouldn’t have been!!
Follow these simple steps to avoid problems..
1. Use either the Goldcar app or they’re own website DO NOT USE THIRD PARTY SITES.
2. Take time to continuously check prices up to a month prior to travel as they do have random discounts and promotions ( free second driver, 20-30% discounts ) etc.
3. Book direct and select top packages for insurance etc.
4. Refill the car on your way back to the airport and go through a car wash.(that’s what you would do if you borrowed a friends car)
Booking top packages often means key and go or click and go. And at the least priority service at the rental desk( priceless if you want to just get on with your holiday and avoid queues)..
I’ve already booked Goldcar again for Tenerife and frankly I wouldn’t use anyone else after my experience with them.. they knocked spots off other rentals companies and I was in the car leaving the airport as quickly as I was my own car when I landed home...
I don’t often leaves reviews but looking at the many on trust pilot I felt the scales are unfairly balanced for this company.
Follow the above and you will be pleasantly surprised and doubtless become a loyal customer..

Be Aware! Charged my creditcard for a 200 euro insurance I never signed up for. Now I'm dealing with the bureaucratic nonsense to get my money back. Goldcar has no intention to give me my money back. Stay away from Goldcar!

I rent two cars during my holidays in Spain.
Goldcar Barcelona Airport, and Goldcar Madrid Airport.
In the first case I was charged for something unknown: No damages, fuels tank was full-full, no fine. I found a charge of 17euros.
Then, Madrid, some as above: I was charged for something not required: I was charged for a diesel car, because my car wasn't available, despite I arrived on time to pick up my car. With other companies - Hertz or Europecar, if the car is not available, you will get a free upgrade for the lack of organization by the rental company. Also, I was charged for airport fees, when it was supposed to be free. I found a charge of 13.54euros in total.
Hopefully I will get my deposit back ASAP.
I have sent no end of emails about a car refund and over charging they refuse to reply. Disgusting avoid at all costs
After renting from goldcar in Spain September 2019 they took €1111.33 from my card on day one. After returning the car in perfect condition with a full tank of fuel we were given an invoice for €32.10 for the 214 km we added to the car over the 2 weeks. On returning to the UK goldcar put £967.09 back on my card, meaning they charged us £144.10 for a €32.10 bill. AVOID AVOID AVOID this car scamming company. Although I got back £110 from Barclay card I doubt very much that they have claimed this back from goldcar.

Awful, awful company. Liars and cheats. We booked a car and were charged a petrol deposit, that we were told would be refunded in full. It was not. When we returned the car, we were told everything was fine. A week later I found that they had charged £320 to my credit card and I have been unable to find out what is it for. My father also booked a car with them and had similar problems. NEVER BOOK A CAR WITH THEM!
Very poor experience with this company. The price you pay when booking online is likely not the price you will get the car for. Be sure to check all T&C’s and also ensure that when you collect the car you are not duped into taking extra insurance if you do not want it. I was lead to believe I was Being charged a refundable security deposit, which I was OK with, but instead they took €150 non-refundable charge from my card for additional insurance instead, without giving me the options. Raised it with them and they did absolutely nothing to rectify it.
The 1 Star is for The car. EVERYTING else Was the most terrible rental expirence i have ever tryed. It took Us 3,5 hour to get A car, and like others has described a lot of extra EUR was added to The bill
They charged me extra insurance and services that were not required.
I would not use this company at all.
