I've only given 4 stars because of the trading platforms. Since the change in margins, when setting a trade the margin info is important and it's not good enough to say calculate it. Even pro realtime was a bit of a let down as I was using it a few years ago and I was disappointed that I couldn't see any improvements. Other than that my experience with IG had been very positive.
The platform is reasonably fast, responsive and easy to use. Deposits and withdrawals are handled quickly. Their standard charts are simple to use, uncomplicated and clear, but there is a £30 charge for the more advanced Proealtime charts unless 4 trades are made per month. Unfortunately, stops cannot be placed within a minimum distance away from the current price, which means that short term traders and scalpers have to watch the charts all day. Overall though, I am satisfied with IG's service.
Trading platform is 100 % responsive and accurate. Service from help desk and broker support is A1. Looking forward to going to London office early this year.

I.G. is a very good firm. The platform is easy to negotiate and the fills are good.The spreads are very good. The graphs are very clear with a lot of indicators if required. The mobile app. is also very good.

intrest charges far too high, never ever any offers. you pay them intrest! for keeping hold of your cash!. Why not refund me a few thousand seem as for the last 10 years I have paid you to hold my cash. yes i understand industry standard. But rules are made to be broken. Try given something back for once not take take take. Oh and ever increasing charges. Apart from bleeding me dry slowly seems a fair site. Try starting a reward programme like oh you been with us 5/10 years here is £1k for loyalty!. Not something stupid just for loaded people like place bets of £1 million over 6 months get £50 cashback. 10 years this year of giving you cash in return NOTHING!. Not even a t shirt. Bookmakers do it why not you?. Brake the mode give a little back to loyal customers. Not just the loaded ones either!. NOT EVEN A REPLY FROM YOU !. CUSTOMER LOYALTY A JOKE. DISGUSTING HONESTLY.

Been a trader is easy but very interesting. I just want to study more about trading before going back into it full time. I feel any new trader should not leave his or her main job for trading.
I think IG offers a great service. I am setting out to learn as much as i can using their academy courses, webinars and also reading books on the subject before I put money in my account.

I was charged over £100 in hidden commission fees when i bought roughly 1 share 5 times to test their user interface.
The commission wasn't shown when opening or closing the trades or even in the account history.
I only noticed the commission when i saw my balance had dropped.
I telephoned and I asked what was going on, they didn't give a crap and said i should have read every page on their web site before opening a trade.
Absolutely flawed company, I have to show them how much money I have, otherwise they will not make an account. Since opening the account, they have issued copies of passports, ID cards, bank statements and utility bills. I gave Then they did not contact me for six days. When I contacted them, they informed me that the three-month statement and the KYC form had to be completed, and the three-month statement required. If I give it to my account manager Joy Shawya tells me, they will not allow me to open an account if my net assets does not show them.
I've been on Forex for 5 years. I have never seen such a Gazakhuri story. They think there is only one broker in the world. No other broker.
I've been banning them forever.
