Worst developer I have worked with in years I have been hiring.
These guys say that they will make the deadline. While they won't.
To be faire I had moved the deadline, but I asked if it was possible for them to finish before that time. Otherwise i would get help or find someone else. But just to keep their stats up in Upwork they lied to me.
They said the deadlne would be met with extra "resources"
These were the tasks that should have been done
- Implement a subscription system (FAILED)
Everything is one time payments. So a monthy contract has to be paid manaully every month by the customer. Thought the job description says manual renewment it should be the renewment of the CONTRACT not each payment. Because that's simply not a subscription.
When I pointed this out he said that the job description said manually. So they assumed when you get a year contract you have to renew every month manually.
- Sort posts/listing in standard ordering (FAILED)
After boosting a post it would become sticky which shouldn't be the case. They did not do this and claimed that it was something simple. Yet it's not done.
- Coupon system (works)
- Post should expire (FAILED)
When you feature a post for 4 days it should become a normal post after those 4 days. This also is just not done.
- iDEAL payments. They hardcoded this and thus failed (FAILED)
They just hardcoded payments for fixed amount which were wrong in a very ugly and user unfriendly way.
I have asked constantly during the 2 week period if they would manage this and if they needed any help. They denied every time.
** VERY IMPORTANT **
They delivered 45 min late to an important website launch. The worst part is that they wanted the money RIGHT AWAY RELEASED otherwise I would not get the code. I already deposited the money in escrow and already released 300$ (75%) prior. Because I had no choice and no time to check anything because everything was done locally even though they had their own domain. I could not check what they were doing. Again I have been hiring tons of freelancers
Now they won't give me refund even though barely anything works. I tried to reason with them and ask for 50%. The only thing they offered it to fix it. But I have 0 trust left in them so obviously refused that and just wanted my money back. They did not even SAY SORRY to me, but worse they kept on denying their mistakes and asked for me to leave a good review.
Now I had to get an other developer who did everything they should have done in 3 days. This is a friend of mine has been a CTO for large companies. I had to call in a favor and ask him to help me in this hard time. He told me their code was very bad, not documented and hardcoded everywhere.
THESE GUYS HAVE COSTED ME 400$ AND A BAD REPUTATION WITH A CLIENT. DON'T WORK WITH THEM.
