The client is never right!

Rented a car from the UK for my holidays in Portugal. On arrival to the car company desk, was told that I need to pay an extra charge of 25£; explained that my contract stated all charges included. Was told that the contract was wrong and without paying the extra fee, I wouldn't be given a car. Paid the fee and contacted broker company. Cutting the story short, and after many emails back and forward; interrent told the broker company that I had asked to change my contract from full-full to flex-fuel, which I never did, hence the extra charge.
Never got a refund for this; furthermore, the car I got did not match the car type I choose, but no employee at the lisbon counter seems to care. In addition, their counter is actually at the Goldcar stand and managed by Goldcar staff.

Scam! Scam! Scam!

Scam! Scam! Scam!
Booked a car via doyouspain.com like I always do to pick it up at Palma Airport. Checked that Inter rent is a branch of Europcar (never had an issue with them - 9/10) but once I booked I found out it is in fact a branch of lying scammers Goldcar!
Paid 250 euro for a week of rental and was suppose to pay another 30 euro at the airport. That's fine. On arrival I had to argue to with a very unpleasant lady that I would rather have a deposit blocked on my credit card that pay 206 euro (80 euro mandatory tourist tax and 120 insurance - that's all a lie as this tax does not exist anywhere else). She refused to take my card but after 10 minutes of arguing she did and machine refused it (weird!) so I asked if we can split payment in 2, yet again she refused to do that.
I ended up paying 470 euro for one week of a car rental! The car I received was dirty inside, fingerprints and crumbs everywhere. Disgusting and horrible company!!!

They have over 200 cars at Palma airport and people get scammed like this daily. It's ridiculous. The worst company ever!

Bullying lying scammers

We were scammed as were many others at Palma airport.
They pretend that your credit card is declined when trying to pay the returnable deposit so that you have no choice but to pay for the exorbitant extra insurance. This has been verified by my bank in the uk.
They’re aggressive cheats as are their parent company Goldcar

I had no problems

Ok - going to swim against the tide here…..booked a car from Fuerteventura Airport via Holiday Autos. This was to be fulfilled by Interrent. I read the reviews a couple of days before travel and was worried, very worried.
Glad to say that this was unfounded! No attempt to upsell insurance and pick up straightforward. Car was a bit battered (hence 4 stars) but only wanted it to get from A to B so no biggy. Made sure that all dents were noted (there were a lot) and videoed the car before driving off.
No problems with car and ensured on return that it was full of petrol. Asked the person at the desk to check the car over which he did with good grace and no problem. Hold released on my funds within 3 days so really cannot complain.
As with any car rental
1. Have your paperwork in order
2. Check the car prior to driving away and highlight any issues
3. Fill up the car at the airport gas station so it is absolutely full
4. Get the car checked on return and dispose of any of your rubbish in the car.
5. Accept that a hold will be put on your credit card funds (pretty normal operating procedure! ).
Have a great holiday!

Avoid at all costs

I booked a car hire at Malaga airport with a No Risk Warranty. Gold Car, who fulfilled the hire, refused to accept the No Risk Warranty and forced me to pay for their insurance before they would supply the car, meaning I paid for extra insurance twice. Absolute rip-off. Avoid at all costs

Sharp practices or FRAUD

Interrent at RMU, Murcia are absolutely appalling. They had one member of staff for a full flight of travellers into Murcia and then added an ‘upgrade’ cost that they said was mandatory. I refused to pay and they said I could not have the car. Talk about sharp practices or probably FRAUD. Do not use this company.

I have to agree with a number of…

I have to agree with a number of previously recorded bad reviews. The Agents at Malaga Airport did not explain that extras / extra insurance were added as a matter of course. No explanation of this was given at the time of the car handover and signing if the Interrent Contract. This is FRAUD pure and simple. I will not be using Interrent again and will be very wary of booking via HOLIDAY AUTOS who did nothing to help or remediate.

Do not use this Company

Do not use this Company. They thrust the rental agreement at you and ask you to sign for a deposit to be taken on your credit card. There is no further explanation. It is only after you return home and check your credit card statement you realise you have been scammed as they charge you for a load of extras which you have not requested.
It is impossible to contact them by phone and they do not reply to emails.
This is not an isolated instance - read all of the reviews. They are deliberately follows fraudulent business practices.

Falsely claimed over £500 in damages after car hire and despite numerous attempts at contacting customer services we have been unable to speak to anyone.

Additionally, at pick up, desks were not available within the airport so had to wait outside for over an hour with a 3 month old baby in the heat at Toulouse. Further, despite saying that car seats were available, these are not guaranteed. Terrible service.

Read the reviews and stay away from this company because you will be scammed, they will make you sign for a deposit then you will realise it’s not a deposit but a very expensive insurance. Once you leave, they will claim that there was damages to the car that did not exist and charge you more. Stay away!

Never refunded, after they agreed to

I returned a car 4 days into my 14 at booking. The company was quick to offer to refund of the child seat so I didn't hire it for full 14 days but 9 months later (and many emails) i have never been refunded it.

Update: Don’t let them win.

Update: Since my last review about this ROGUE company I have taken action to recover my £300+ They did everything in their power to try and prevent repayment of my money but ultimately they lost and with the intervention of the bank the money was reclaimed.

The bottom line is they will happily take your money, offer you an appalling non existent service and then refuse to give you a lawful refund. If this has happened to you take them on with the help of the courts and the banks. They are bordering on corrupt and will lose every time.

Damages and cleaning fees charged without merit

I returned the car afterhours without any damage at Brussels (BE) airport. I had a full coverage. I received the invoice via e-mail and there was damages and cleaning fees added on the invoice. After a lot of fighting with their Customer Services they removed the damage charges as I had pictures of the car before and after the rental. If I did not, they would have kept the charges without a refund, I am very convinced. The car was in a perfect clean condition inside when returned with the exception that I had left a coffee cup inside the car. Interrent charged me well over 20€ extra cleaning charge for this and refused to refund it. I have hired a car well over 100 times, and this was by far the worst experience. I would never hire a car again from them and suggest to choose another company.

A company of deceit and dishonour

A company of deceit and dishonour

Same company as GOLDCAR, and obviously needing a new name judging on reviews of both companies

They are promoting the cheapest prices on the internet booking platforms so that you will choose them first.

Only thing is when you pick up the car, they slap a 25 to 35 euro "Petrol tax charge" on top, so it brings the cost up to their competitors on the booking platforms

A company of deceit and dishonour, admitted by the employees themselves. Upon booking with a third party booking site, I went to collect the car and was told there was a fee of €28 for the sole purpose that I could choose whether to return the car full or empty of petrol. When I informed them that I didnt want this choice... they told me.... I didnt have the choice. Basically a fee slapped on top so that the company can make profit through lies. Avoid this company at all costs whilst hiring a car in Spain. Whether that be through direct booking or through a third party booking site.

DO NOT USE THESE SCAMMERS

I booked my car rental in Marseille Airport through Expedia. I then decided to get an easier flight, assuming I would be able to change the car pick up time. Wrongly. I spent a week unsuccessfully trying to get through to them, being told by Expedia that someone at their office had said they couldn’t guarantee a car but would make a note that I was coming early.

When I got there, four hours earlier than planned, after standing in a queue for 90 minutes (because there was only one person working and they were trying to upsell excess insurance to everyone), the woman behind the desk just walked off into the back office for 15 minutes. When she returned she told me that it would cost me £250 to pick the car up two hours earlier than scheduled, which obviously I refused to do.

I waited two further hours in the airport then returned, queued again for 90 minutes only to find that my credit card wouldn’t work to be blocked for a deposit (admittedly not their fault). I had to use a debit card instead, for which they charged me £240!!!!! Plus a £130 “fuel deposit” which I have never had to pay before and as of today still hasn’t been returned.

They may be the cheapest on paper but please please please think twice before being lured in by their prices. This experience really spoiled the beginning of my holiday and I will never use them again - also, be aware that they are the same company as Goldcar, who I will also never use again.

AVOID Interrent

It has taken me a while to write a review on this company but it’s never late to do the right thing.

My nightmare started back at the end of December 2019, when I rented a car at Brussels Airport via Interrent website. When I returned the car, I was told everything was in order and my deposit would be refunded in 5days.

A few days later I was surprised to see that they only refunded half of the deposit. I tried to contact them, but without success. They couldn’t be reached as the phone number on the website wasn’t working, and they were not replying to my emails.

I decided to challenge them publicly on Twitter. Within a few minutes they replied and they asked me to DM (message them privately), which I did, hoping the issue would quickly be resolved. I gave them all my details, then to my surprise they came back to me saying they couldn’t find my booking on the system!!!
The same company that managed to take payment from my account and had given me a car to rent, when it came to refunding me couldn’t find my details!

I challenged them again publicly on Twitter. A few days later I was told that they have found my details but that I had returned the car late, hence the extra charge.
It wasn’t true but proving my case wasn’t going to be easy as I wasn’t given any paper work when I returned the car.

To cut the story short, after returning the car to the airport, I caught a train and had receipts of my train tickets, which was a proof that the time they were saying I had returned the car wasn’t correct. In the end, after 2 long months, they couldn’t make up new stories. I got my refund.

I have read similar stories on this company, they are crooks and a should be avoided. I still can’t believe Interrent is part of Europcar Group, and Europcar is doing nothing to put an end to these malpractices.
