CBT at MTS East Grinstead

Completed my CBT at MTS East Grinstead. The trainers balanced being thorough and professional where required with maintaining a very engaging relaxed environment. They also worked very well with a group of trainees who had diverse experience and ages. Neil led our ride out and provide really clear instructions and feedback. It was a great day but more exhausting than you might expect.

Amazing but tiring day.

Just wanted to say a big shout out to MTS Sussex motorcycle training in Crawley.
Rick & Neil, the instructors were amazing, very informative, and positive banter does help.
It was a full on day, so frustrated and tired at times.
Needless to say, passed my CBT with their help.
I would highly recommend them.

Very poor experience

Very poor experience.
1. Communication devices cracking all the time and impossible to understand and follow instructions.
2. One of the instructors very rude and insulting. Deeply dislike her teaching method.
3. My experience with the other instructors were much better and noticed they were knowledgeable.

Unfriendly and unhelpful.

Unfriendly and unhelpful.
My daughter booked her CBT training several months ago and had to pay the full amount in advance. On their website, they clearly state that you cannot reschedule and cancel with less than a week's notice. That's fair enough.
However, my daugther's bike broke down and she only realised a couple of days before the training that the mechanic would not get it fixed in time. He had had it at his shop for five days, but it did not get done in time.
When my daughter tried to call them, she could not get through, despite many repeated attempts. Although the answering machine kept assuring her that she would get a call back, this never happened. In the end, she was forced to email them the next day (as nobody returned her call) and asked to either rent a bike from them or reschedule her course. She did get an answer to this email - both options were denied, too short notice.
The point is not that they were wrong in what they said, but their lack of warmth and empathy was upsetting for a young girl and not what you expect after you have paid a lot of money.
My daughter then decided to just show up at the training anyway and see if a solution would present itself. She travelled by bus for 45 minutes and walked to the test center. She clearly showed she was determined to get the course done. When she arrived, she was greated with a, "So, do you have your bike?" She replied that she didn't and she was immediately told to leave. She wasn't even given the chance to present her case.
I run a business myself and totally understand that late cancellations are a challenge. But one has to deal with them kindly and with understanding, not robotically and in a rude fashion. Having my daughter call me, crying, after these interactions was not what she paid for or I expected.
And just as a comment - she was a repeating customer, which you have now lost with your inept handling.

First Class Motorcycle Training

It took me a number of years to actually arrange some training and now I’m wondering why I didn’t do my CBT and DAS years ago!

With the friendly and expert tuition of MTS Sussex, I successfully gained my A licence on the first attempt. Everyone at MTS is so helpful and clearly passionate about preparing new bikers.

Special mentions to Nicky in the office whose admin ensured that I knew exactly what was happening and when. Holland for introducing me to motorcycles, my CBT and getting me out on a 125cc and the bigger MT07. Thanks also to Rick for his expert tuition and guidance and to little Max for his help, tips and encouragement on the day.

If you’re in any doubt about professional motorcycle training, I’d encourage you to just do it.

If you don’t know who to go to for training, I wholeheartedly recommend MTS Sussex. Their enthusiasm is plain to see. You might be nervous about riding a motorcycle. Don’t be. MTS are expert at what they do.

Thank you to MTS for making my training so enjoyable and enabling me to gain my motorcycle licence first time.
