I have been using them for well over a year and everything has been fine, until I needed some very basic customer support. The app somehow turned off my biometric log in, and didn't like the password that was saved. I reset it but still no joy, so I tried to look for support options. Their support page gives a 404 error, their emergency number only offers automated card cancellation (which I'm pretty sure it would have done without ay confirmation, I was not calling from the number n the account, I just needed to know what it was!) I found a bot 'live' chat. it offered a 'specialist' (which I assume was a human), and then updated the chat every 15 minutes, confirming it was live. After about an hour and a half the message said somoe was reviewing the message, ad would get back to me within 10 minutes. 20 minutes later I realised the text box had disappeared. It's still unchanged. Looks like the chat was quietly just closed!
Edit: it wasn't closed, as after over 3 hours (so about an hour and a half after the 10 minute promise) someone did come into the chat, but I was no longer at my computer, and missed them.

A business wire was sent to my N26 account from the USA on 12 May, but it was blocked until 22 May. During that time, N26 did not notify me that money had reached them but could not be accepted due to SWIFT/BIC or currency requirements.
These critical details are not there when customers click “share bank account details” in the N26 app.
I do not understand this banking complexity. When I open the app, it feels like entering a hypermarket where many things are promoted, but the most basic banking functions are hidden: sending and receiving money without hassle.
Anyone using N26 for international transfers should first confirm the full SWIFT/BIC details and make sure the payment is sent in EUR.

N26 Support is a NIGHTMARE!
They blocked my account because of my travel to sanctioned countries and 3 months after I was back in Germany couldn't figure out why account is still blocked and had to call / email / message all the support channel more than 20 times and every time explaining all from the beginning. During the same period I was charged extra more than 100 Euros for the contracts that couldn't get the money from my account because N26 didn't let me, manage my account and also didn't help.
They either didn't cared or their company is so MESSED UP that can't do a simple support case. Finally just closed my account, feeling relieved from N26 NIGHTMARE!
Just use a respectable bank that good quality and good support!
I use C24 now and even their free tier has good features and Good SUPPORT.

I was more than happy to provide any documentation to gain access to my account and I did provide it. I have EU passport but your company failed to handle a simple situation, failed MISERABLY!
If you have the ear to hear what customers have to say, you can improve but if you just want to get by and not care. Customer will do free marketing if you serve them well and on the flip side they'll always spread their terrible experience they had with everyone. I'm sure customers like me didn't get any apology for the service they didn't receive. I didn't bothered so far to file a law suit against N26 but I might. I have everything documented.

Despite using the free version of my account, I have never encountered any problems. I can highly recommend N26; for a sole proprietor, it is the best bank I have ever used.

if I could give them zero stars I would. I transferred funds to them totally within banking limits. Then I wanted to move some funds to Raisin Bank to invest for a longer period. N26x without any notice, shut down y account and blocked all access. Trying to get information from them is akin to trying to get blood from a stone. They unilaterally decided to hold onto my funds without any explanation I am now in a legal battle to sue them. They are hopelessly unresponsive and not trustworthy if THEY decide to do something you have little comeback. Be warned. Customer service is non-existent.
As an add on to the response from N26, all requested documents were uploaded and received by N26 weeks ago. A review will take a few days …. two weeks later and nothing. They don’t respond. So beware. Choose a bank that is reputable and reliable in good times and bad. N26 have proven themselves to be unreliable and uncooperative and non-communicative when a problem arises. Zero stars.

An allround bankingpackage
N26 Bank has an allround bankingpackage for people who don’t want to pay extensively for services of other banks. The app functions well. Of course the free-version of N26 has some limitations but thats ok (for me), f.e. regarding sending money.
Customerservice for the free-version is limited also. I’ve used the chat-function once so far and that worked fine.
Finally: the fact that it’s a German bank gives me some comfort.

I’m not happy with the N26 bank service. In general I think the Spanish banking system is very unfair. I used Monzo as my only other online bank service and monzo never charged for sending payments out. This is very sly! It’s unfair and it should be mentioned before you sign up for an account. Never using this service or app again. Be warned.

I honestly cannot believe how badly N26 treated me.
I opened a dispute regarding an Apple App Store purchase because the app was misleading, full of fake promises, advertisements, and did not work as described at all. I requested a refund from Apple on the same day, but it was rejected.
Since customers in the EU are supposed to have protection in situations like this, I contacted N26 for help.
They asked me for screenshots, explanations, proof, and documents. I sent everything immediately.
Then the nightmare started.
For months and months:
- endless waiting times,
- no actual updates,
- copy-paste template replies every single time,
- “your case has been escalated” again and again,
- absolutely no accountability,
- absolutely no resolution.
I waited patiently and always remained respectful.
Today, after all this time, I contacted support again asking for a real answer and direct communication with the escalation team responsible for my case.
Instead of helping me, they simply closed the chat and disconnected me.
That was the final proof that N26 does not care once you actually need support.
A bank is tested when problems happen — not when everything works normally. And in my experience, N26 completely failed that test.
If you expect real customer protection, real communication, and real support during disputes, think twice before trusting this bank.

I strongly advise everyone to avoid N26. Last week, I made two ETF purchases. The money was deducted from my balance immediately, but the assets have never appeared in my account.
The customer service is completely incompetent and provides zero solutions. I have contacted them multiple times every single day. First, they told me to wait 3 days, then 5 days, then until the end of the week. Now, they simply claim the issue has been "escalated to seniors," yet I receive no updates and no resolution.
It is unacceptable for a bank to provide such a "useless" support system when dealing with a customer's savings. They offer no transparency and no accountability. If you have a technical problem here, it will never be solved. Save yourself the stress and use a reliable bank instead.

Terrible Service – 5 Months Without My Money
I opened a formal complaint on December 15, 2025, and today is May 11, 2026—5 months later, and N26 still hasn’t returned my money.
On December 17, 2025, my N26 account was blocked after a 19,000€ transfer to another account of mine was flagged as suspicious. Despite submitting all requested documents—including my ID and bank statements—multiple times, I’ve received no clear explanation. N26 support ignores my emails, offering only a vague claim that I allegedly violated their terms.
I cannot access my account, I don’t know where my funds are, and there’s no timeline for repayment.
This is unacceptable. zero transparency—my funds are still frozen till this daz. 14th MAZ 2026
