I visited in September 2025 and it remains one of the best trips I have ever taken. Laz was an exceptional host throughout, knowledgeable, warm, and incredibly well organised. Every day felt carefully considered without ever feeling rushed.

The variety was what really stood out. We went from stunning mountain landscapes and crystal clear rivers to charming local villages and long lunches filled with incredible food and wine. The kind of places and experiences you simply would not stumble upon on your own.

The group dynamic was wonderful too. By the end of the trip, a group of strangers had become genuine friends, which says a lot about the atmosphere Laz creates. I have recommended this retreat to everyone I know and would not hesitate to go back. Absolutely five stars!

From start to finish, my experience with Northern Greece Retreat was spectacular! Lazaros was absolute professional and made every part of the journey enjoyable, seamless, and truly memorable. I really enjoyed Neraida, Velventos and the fresh peaches. Lazaros was able to provide clear guidance and personalised support, planning was great as we knew what to expect.

What really stood out was the authenticity and heart of the experience. I loved the food, the nature and authentic of people. Every activity felt like a new life experience from exploring hidden natural gems, I can talk for hours about the waterfall, and stunning landscapes genuinely showcased the best of Greece. Lazaros knowledge, passion, and warmth elevated the whole trip. He made every day special and unique! I strongly recommend this experience.

I used Northern Greece Retreat to get advice on a trip to Greece which took into account the varied interests of my two teenagers - one wanting museums and art, the other beaches and water parks. He was attentive to our needs and had answers to all my questions, I'd highly recommend him to anyone looking for a personalised trip and I really want to find time to attend the main retreat, looks amazing!

I’ve traveled widely in Europe and beyond, but this adventure trip truly WOW-ed me! It was beautifully organised and included such off-the-beaten-track destinations that I could have never found on my own, from deeply local hidden gems to meeting incredibly kind local (only Greek speaking!) people.

The nature was next level: stunning beaches, hidden waterfalls, natural pools, canyons, and swims in crystal-clear rivers. Climbing Mount Olympus was unforgettable, with sweeping views, a star-filled night at the summit, and a calm, magical morning with traditional breakfast on the mountain top! Ending the descent by jumping straight into a mountain waterfall was pure bliss.

The food was a dream; wine, cheese, fresh fruit, crisp salads, and unforgettable Mediterranean flavours. Cultural highlights included a UNESCO-listed village with a special atmosphere, and our guide, Laz, was making us his family's original Greek kebabs was a top experience!

Experiencing all of this on a small budget made it a once-in-a-lifetime adventure I would wholeheartedly recommend to anybody!

We planned a four-day escape to Greece, in Thessaloniki, and had a fantastic experience! Laz advised us on where to go, where to stay, and what to see, which made the whole trip feel effortless. Thessaloniki was beautiful, and having help organising activities was incredibly valuable. He knows the area very well and understands what people genuinely enjoy seeing. I’d love to join one of his larger retreats and visit Mount Olympus in the future. Highly recommended!

From the very first salty dip to the final sunset in Chalkidiki, this journey struck a perfect balance between discovery, relaxation, and joy. Each day unfolded thoughtfully, combining natural beauty, cultural experiences, and moments of laughter that quickly turned a group of travellers into a close-knit travel family!!

The itinerary was wonderfully varied, from waterfalls and pine-scented mountain paths to wine tastings, peach orchards, artisan jam makers, and unforgettable meals in postcard-perfect settings. Highlights included the breathtaking paths of Vikos Gorge, the alpine village of Metsovo with its smoky cheeses, and experiences we would never have found on our own.

What truly set this trip apart was the seamless organisation and knowledgeable, calm hosting from Laz throughout. Every detail felt considered, allowing us to relax fully and enjoy each moment without worry. This wasn’t just a holiday, but a genuine celebration of food, nature, friendship, and memories that stay with you long after the last “YAMAS”.

We had the best time in Greece on this trip!! It's difficult to narrow down in a review as I was honestly wow'd by everything. The natural beauty, nature, food and the community of the people we met were mind blowing. I've not stopped taking about it!!
We would go to Greece again and again with Laz, our guide and would especially love to go at a different time of year to get additional experiences. I highly recommend this trip!!
