Patrick Oliver Feedback

Patrick Oliver pride ourselves on our excellent reputation and positive reviews. Therefore, we are disappointed to recently receive a negative review. This is in relation to a Check Out and the landlords were extremely upset with the tenants after 9 years of a smooth tenancy due to the lack of an end of tenancy clean (house was due for a major refurbishment).

At the end of the tenancy, we contacted the Tenancy Deposit Scheme and ARLA for advice, and they both backed up the tenant claims and supported our decisions as an agent.

I’m sorry we cannot tolerate abuse, threats, and rude behaviour. This unfortunately occurred during this lengthy check out. Therefore, we chose to step back from the situation and correspond professionally by email.

Following a thorough Check Out inspection report, we are very glad that we successfully reached an amicable conclusion between the tenants and landlords on their behalf.

With Best wishes from Patrick Oliver - Gemma Patrick, Director.

Unprofessional, emotional and very, very rude

I cannot say strongly enough how totally wrong this company is and the so called director is; unprofessional, rude, emotional and lacking social skills. I have been yelled at, send emails in capital bold text. Given the wrong information and when I question something , she is dismissive. She refused to come to the checkout when the tenants left, even though this is required , I have now been left with serious issues and costs because of the state of the house. I could honesty mention many things but I would avoid at all costs.

Extremely unprofessional and rude

Message Gemma on open rent to make a viewing , Gemma asked for my number so she could contact me easier. Was messaging for a few days Gemma kept swapping and changing the viewing day ,Gemma explained it was part of her agency that she use to have in rye so it’s not connected to Patrick Oliver , Gemma seem nice until I view the house and told me to ignore the tenants that were there . Looked round the house seem to be a beautiful house , there was clearly some kind of issue between Gemma and the tenants that were already there . But I ignored as I wanted to make my own judgment. Gemma was very persistent about me putting down a holding fee , transferred the holding fee. Then Gemma contacted my current landlord and previous landlord to get an idea of me and my partner which wasn't a problem. To then say to my previous landlord that she was concerned about my partner as she had done background checks on him and my previous landlord reassured her that he was a nice man and she shouldn’t judge a book by its cover. She referred to my partner as a puppy dog that follows me around and does what I say . And said she was surprised I haven’t done more with my life considering I have worked for the same company for the last 7 years . Which is very rude ! After hearing this it put me off with going ahead with the house and it wasn’t because of the house because it was lovely ! But I just found Gemma very unprofessional and rude . I told Gemma I wouldn’t be going a head she then told me the holding fee is non refundable after I had transferred it , she failed to mention anything before I transferred it . Since then I’ve contact Gemma a number of times and she’s failed to respond to my messages. I will be contacting council trading standards

Absolutely disgusting service

Absolutely disgusting service! Unprofessional, rude and disrespectful. I am a professional working person with a child and because I receive benefits I was treated like vermin by Gemma on the phone and via email. She was happy to let me view a property until she found out I get universal credit then her whole attitude changed. You cannot discriminate against people that receive benefits without even speaking to them first. I have a 3 year old child and that’s why I get universal credit. I also hold down a professional job.

Laura, I spoke to you for about 1 minute, and explained that we had had a lot of enquiries already and reached the maximum number of bookings to view the property. I said that if it hadn’t gone by next week I would contact you. You immediately attacked me and said why did I email saying we would book in your viewing once you told us your situation. I have absolutely no discrimination towards housing benefit and universal credit or because you’re a working mother. You were next on our list to contact.

I do recommend that if you apply for a property you are polite, rather than immediately attacking your interviewer. It rather leaves one with a bad first impression. A bit like this review! Good luck.
