Good Cloud Hosting

Their cloud platform could use more automations, but it fits our needs since it allows us to change configurations whenever we need.This way we save more on costs. Recommend ServerMania to those looking for cloud hosting.

Incompetent and Un-trustworthy

When our company's contract was getting ready to expire with our current server provider, we were searching for a new server company. We ultimately chose ServerMania. I was specific about the drop-dead deadline we faced to have the new server up and running in order to facilitate a smooth, and as seamless as possible transfer of the websites our company hosts. While they were quick to get us signed up, and their pricing for a newer server was within our budget, it wasn't long before we found ourselves dealing with a Support and Migration Team that didn't seem to be up to the task.

During the 11 day period we had to work with, after dozens of emails to them, many of which only yielded a reply of "We are working on your request and will respond shortly", and working tirelessly providing them every piece of information that they requested, and even providing them with information we knew that they would need, but never requested, they still could not seem to get the DNS records that they created to resolve to the new server they had set up for us.

Ultimately ended up being forced to cancel our service contract with them via email. Further, we ended up paying a penalty to our previous server provider in order to re-activate our old server, and remaining with our old company for another year.

As if that wasn't enough, ServerManis refused to refund our payment of over $2800.00 back to our business credit card. Instead, they offering us a credit for the amount that we paid toward services with ServerMania! When we declined their offer, they claimed that they had a "no refund policy", even when they fail to supply the contracted services. Of course, none of this was disclosed to us when we signed the contract.

We filed an dispute with our credit card company, Capital One, who initially removed the charge. Later, however, after they provided "supporting documentation" which included the above referenced "No Refund Policy", Capital One found in their favor. When I contacted Capital One Dispute Resolution, informing them that ServerMania's No Refund Policy document first appeared only AFTER we filed a Dispute, the representative suggested we make a recorded 3 way call to ServerMania to see if we could come to an acceptable resolution.

After initiating the 3 way call to the Sales Manager at ServerMania, we were informed that he had no jurisdiction over the billing department, but thought that it might be in everyone's best interest to try to find an acceptable resolution, and he provided us with the name of the person in charge of billing at ServerMania, someone named Doug, and he give us his number. After multiple attempts to contact "Doug" and after leaving multiple voice mail messages, along with an email attempt to get a response, nobody bothered to reply. Ultimately, we found ourselves being at least temporarily cheated out the $2800.00+, since we had to pay the credit card bill on time or accrue a service charge.

In addition to re-instituting our Dispute at Capital One, we will be contacting the Canadian BBB to file a complaint, since ServerMania is based in Canada. We are also assessing our legal options in order to recover our money.

Potential ServerMania customers beware.

After speaking with our teams regarding this issue, we've found that there were several attempts to resolve this with you and some challenges in obtaining information from you, which would have expedited our ability to offer the support you expected. We also went above and beyond the scope of your service contract, signed on March 11, 2022, by offering to help with migration; a service that you had not paid for.

It is clear that the cancellation of your services was premature and that we did in fact attempt to keep up communication with you to expediently resolve this matter. Unfortunately this is not the outcome either side would have liked to see and we apologize for not being able to meet your standards.

Very satisfied. As advertised.

I am moving a project from AWS to private hosting, and I have been evaluating ServerMania for a couple months now.
So far, support has been stellar, answering all my questions professionally, quickly, and at all times of the day. Prices are very good, and we are looking at reducing our spend significantly. The inventory is great with wide-ranging options for CPU, memory, disk, RAID, OS, region, ...
At this point, I am extremely satisfied, and would use ServerMania without hesitation.
I saw a review that rated them low because they do not offer DDoS protection. That's not fair because they never said they did. My experience is that they deliver exactly on what they sell.
I am happy to verify that I am an active customer, and if their performance takes a dive, I'll come back here and warn everybody.

We have a very complex configuration…

We have a very complex configuration with Servermania and their support team worked through it with us until everything was up and running correctly. It wasn't perfect day one, but I don't think that would have been a realistic expectation. What was important to me was that their team worked until it was 100% and they did that with complaints or issues. I have had nothing but excellent experience with their support team, sales team and basically anyone I have worked with at Servermania. Performance on their servers is far better than what we currently have in our other data center. We are in the process of migrating our entire data center (16 servers) to Servermania and I couldn't be happier. Their pricing is unmatched by anyone in the industry. I physically toured their data center and I have been through many data centers over the years and this was by far the most impressive i have every been through.

Server Throttling!

Terrible support, servers that get throttled due to insufficient cooling, no DDoS protection, and they charge you for basic tasks that should be possible through their panel (i.e. changing OS/iso), their KVM goes down constantly, and then they continue to attempt to capture payment from my card after I cancelled.

Wouldn’t use them if I were you

Wouldn’t use them if I were you. You have to give a written notice to cancel service which then does not apply for 60 days. So if you aren’t happy with the service (like I wasn’t - literally had it on for less than a week) you’ll be paying for 2 months at a minimum. It’s on me for not reading the terms of service more thoroughly but at least now you all know.

Great affordable servers that comes with a lot of headache and extremely slow support

I bought a server that had 8 hours setup time in which was quite pricey but for the specs was amazing.

The support team encountered many issues during setting it up which I then had my server within the 36 hour time which worked flawlessly for then about 1 week and a half in which the bandwidth started to decrease.

Their support team does not update you with what is happening unless you actively keep asking in their live chat.

There are a few amazing live chat sales and support staff who will help you but the rest are only copy and pasting generic pre-written responses and not actually giving you a proper answer.

It has been 2 days since my issue with my bandwidth and they are still awaiting a response with their ISP which they don't seem to be communicating or prioritizing the issue or actively reaching out to them.

Also as a side note, if you don't know how to install your OS or encounter a OS issue and need to re-install it, you better know how to do so or else they will charge a $25 fee otherwise or servers that are not brand new setups. They will purposely give you vague instructions what you should do or where you should look e.g other website articles. Or they will tell you this is as far as they can help you and you will need to pay for them to guide you on how to do so.

Conclusion: cheap prices for great servers but comes with a lot of headache and slow resolutions.

ServerMania - Outstanding

We had a lot of different quotes and server requirements but found that ServerMania especially Cameron have been outstanding!

The sales process was very smooth with the assistance of Cameron getting it all together and sorted.

The support have responded well within their SLA's and are very knowledgeable.

Cannot recommend them more!

Nice affordable servers

Nice affordable servers for under ~$6CAD/month as well as power-plans. SSH connections are stable and pratically 100% uptime according to a ping watch program on Android. Fast network throughput and sufficient quota.

I once locked myself up from the cloud control panel by using white IP listing (my home public IP changed). I was able to login to the surge control panel and open a support ticket. The issue was resolved in 5 minutes, awesome.

I also asked to receive the invoice at the start of the month instead of my registration date and they nicely made the change, pretty appreciated.

The only deceiving thing is there's no DHCP server for automatic IP assignment. For a custom OS it was still easy to make the static setup via VNC in the web browser. Oh and there's no IPv6...

they provide you with third class servers there machines are third-class low-level machines they hang very much everyday you will face issues with servers not responding i highly recommend to not go with servermania its really bad servers low performance

Next to zero tech support, worst hosting company ever! AVOID!

Next to zero tech support, our game server is under DDOS attack for 3 days now and all they can say is "we'll get back to you when we have more information"

They also Null Routed our IP when a clients Wordpress site got hacked. Instead of messaging us about it, they just Null Routed the IP knocking out every website on the server (100+)

They also claim to have 100% uptime which is actually a fraudulent claim to start with. One of our servers went down for 3 hours after only having it for 2 weeks because of them having network issues.

The tech support consists of people who just reply to you with "We will update you shortly" That is it. Nothing more than that.

Still a trusty provider of VPS for me and my clients.

I've been using servermania VPS's on and off, for about 5 years. They always seemed like a good combination of value and support for VPS and Cloud Server. There product is not so cheap that they can't innovate, but not so expensive that is prices my clients out of their offering.

Their support has always been helpful and fast; and my VPS uptimes are tracked by 3rd party systems. So A+ there. These uptimes are inline with the likes of Digital Ocean and Vultr.

They do have multiple control panel logins, like rackspace -which is sort of a pain.. as this over time becomes a bit frustrating to know which system to log into, and for what need I have at that time, that said its manageable and thankfully I don't have to login much.

I had to take away 2 stars because a few years back I had a good VPS for a great price, from an offer I found online. THEN without asking or saying anything ahead of time, they moved my VPS and IP to a slower "cached" VPS that I eventually (by nature of its poor performance for production) had to cancel, thus removing the value I had originally had.

All in all good provider.

Servermania has the best prices in the…

Servermania has the best prices in the industry. With such low prices, we were skeptical that service may be lacking, but they have been much more responsive than our previous big-name hosting company. Servermania respond to our questions and requests within hours. We've had zero down-time on fast servers, and our SSH sessions are never disconnected or timed-out as they did continuously with our previous host. Highly recommended.
