I was lucky to find a place last minute for the beginning of my semester in Berlin. Mariana was really engaged, called me personally on updates and guided me trough the booking experience.
Pretty good website
Easy to use, useful filters to look only for exactly what you're interested in. Possibility to search accommodation on a map.
The only slightly negative thing is the one time booking fee that's kinda high but still not terrible

The worst experience of my life.
I paid 525 euros for the room and 194 euros of agency fee. Although I paid 9 days before I arrived I don´t have internet. When I arrived at the room I had to wait about 3 hours outside in the street of the building to be able to enter the room, the landlord told me that I had to pay 150 euros for agency fee to the owner even though I had pay 194 euros for that to UNIPLACES Uniplaces had mention that although the ad did not mencion equal I had to pay. Since I arrived at the room I had no internet, they connected it only one day. after I have living 7 days in the room I still have no internet. Now the kitchen door was broken and I can't use it.

destructive and demotivating experience. my daughter turned to uniplaces for a room specifying that she would only accept solutions with female roommates. uniplaces sent her 4 solutions with photos, but only after paying we could see the room , the pictures were made in perspective. the room was a closet. after this hurdle, a few days later came a boy sent by uniplaces. we asked for information but they did not answer us. Meanwhile the home ownership
left his trainers shoes around the house, also dirty underpants on the ground, in the kitchen next to the table he left his dirty training shoes, and she washes their dog in the kitchen sink. horrendous crap. we had to look for another room incuring other costs. we requested back the deposit but they answered, that was not possible because we violated the contract, for uniplaces there is nothing wrong washing the dog in the kitchen sink and leave dirty underpants around the flat.. this can happen... not to believe.. So please don't TRUST this agency, and NEVER book with this agency. They write 'checked' on the posted AD, but in fact they have never seen the apartment because they have no agents on site and they have no offices. are just a virtual agency that tries to cheat people who come from abroad.

They will not allow you to make an inquiry with the owner, without charging you the full rate. The agent/owner can just approve your inquiry and charge you JUST FOR ASKING A QUESTION. They are stealing from people. Any possible 5-star review is clearly written by their own team. Read ALL of the reviews here, and you can read between the lines. They are liars and thieves. I am seeking representation for this theft.

Helpful customer service, but be careful
Full disclosure, I wound up not booking my room through them, but they were very helpful to me when I had an issue with a scammy landlord on their site. Kind and quick to respond. My hope is that as Uniplaces grows it gets easier for them to verify properties and landlords because overall the site is very easy to use - for the time being, be very careful with what you book.
