Patience paid its debt

Airhelp did a great job in refunding me almost 450 Euro regarding a compensation claim to Air India. It took almost 4 months to get the refund, but patience paid its debt.

Very helpful. All i did was get in contact with AirHelp and give them the info they needed. They took care of the rest and i got some money back.

Useful but expensive

Overall the process was smooth. I was surprised the service actually worked. I was a little bothered by the commission amount though.

Next time, I will probably look at filing on my own to see what will happen.

Time and hassle saver!

Had a great experience, claim submission was simple and even though processing took awhile, AirHelp communicated regularly about claim status. Once claim went through I took some time to accept, but my case remained open and claim was awarded promptly and securely when I accepted.

Service Charge too high

Everything was great.. the only reason for 1 less star is that the charges deducted for providing the serviettes was a bit too much.

Excellent, every single time I used them they came trough. Takes a few months to get the case resolved but in the end its worth it. Its easy to use just input all the info they ask and then wait for payday

It legit works!

I wasn't sure at first if this was legit, so I actually ignored AirHelp's email. But they reached out again a few months later and I did a little investigating. Turns out, they help a lot of travelers receive compensation for flight issues. After responding and pursuing the claim, it was the easiest process to get compensated. Couldn't say anything negative, all good things!

Do not know their EU261 recent case law

I was looking for a case handler for ease, as I did not want the bureaucracy of dealing with airlines. Was told by Airhelp my LHR - DOH - XXX flight was not eligible, because the subsequent non-EU parts of the flight was delayed, on a non-EU airline. They said it was not covered under EU261 compensation law, and therefore did not take my claim.

A quick google and help on an online forum showed me recent ECJ case law says that single ticketed flights for which I presented myself for through-checking to final destination from a EU airport would be covered to the final destination, even if it is the later non-EU flight that is delayed (case Wegener v Royal Air Maroc SA).

Having been rejected by AirHelp, I quoted this case to the airline, who paid up directly without difficulty. Should have done this in the first place.
