Our furniture and household goods have been in storage for 4 years. Now it's about to be delivered to our new address. Andrew porter is a first class company both in reliability and service. Elaine has always kept us up to date and informed about prices and developments. We have used Andrew Porter several times over the past 20 years +. A very reliable and trustworthy company. We recommend highly.!

We have known & used Andrew Porter’s (Chorley) since 2005, for our house moves/ once shipping to NZ and since 2007 domestic storage. Always a top class service especially the domestic removals side and backed up by 1st class knowledge of the removals industry. Originally, our storage was based at their old shared facility and since last year all storage is now based at their brand new purpose built sole use ‘secure storage facilities’. With various storage room sizes at competitive pricing, supported with excellent modern customer user facilities such as rest room & hot drinks availability and toilets, and crucially front line customer service provided by Elaine and Rebecca….Top Show 5*.

Steve and George were very helpful and I would happily recommend Andrew Porter Storage if you require a bit of extra space for a while.

Steve and George provided advice on the size of crate I would need.The outside crate was clean and dry and protected my household items perfectly for 7 months.
The crate was accessible when I needed to access it, I had my own keys and fob card.All items left the crate in great condition with no mildew or damp.
Thank you George and Steve for making my house move a smooth one.I would recommend you to anyone.

I would highly recommend Andrew Porter Ltd for your Storage solutions. Steve and George were so helpful, from arranging the insurance to helping us choose which size of container we needed for our house contents. They supplied the special Padlocks and the codes for gaining entry to our container site, which was available 24/7 . The site has Security cameras working 24/7, so we were assured safety of our belongings. We were able to transport our contents, and did so many times in the evening. I will miss seeing the cheery face and hand waving as we passed the office, but will not hesitate to use this firm again.

I recently moved from London back to Kendal and needed storage for my furniture,from my initial phone call in February to me moving my furniture into my unit in April and vacating my storage unit yesterday Steve and George have been so helpful , from finding the perfect size storage unit for my furniture to me vacating my unit yesterday.
Steve and George are amazing and I can’t thank them enough for taking the stress out of what was a very difficult move for me.

I used Andrew Porter at Kendal Business Park for temporary storage. Very easy to set up, very good storage room and great service. The price was reasonable too. (My only suggestion is for storage to be accessible 24 hours.).

I can recommend Andrew Porter storage for having very clean, easily accessible units. The manager was most helpful and very easy to speak to. The units are exceptionally clean and the entry system very easy to use.

Our removal from Ackenthwaite to Auchlochan went very well, this was the third occasion we have used Andrew Porter for our house moves and every time we have had excellent service. We would recommend them without hesitation!

Mick and John were excellent during our removal experience. Our move was between 2 large properties and spread over 3 days inclding fragile packing. It was all achieved very smoothly and with care, courtesy and consideration for us and all our belongings together with an excellent attitude and good humour.
Nothing was too much trouble for them even when we changed our minds over the placement of furniture.
Mick and John had help on one day from Calvin, Paul and Damian who had become available due to a cancellation and Eddie who put all our beds back together in the final stages of our move.
All together a they were a cheerful team doing a professional job and we can wholeheartedly recommend Andrew Porter Ltd for any removals.

Strongly suggest avoidance of this removal and storage business.
There are many much better companies than this.
We used this firm for a large house removals, storage and return during a 6 month refurbishment of a property - including packing.
Their sales and estimation were slick and they were far from the cheapest, but sadly the actual results fell far short of the sales spiel.
They were very aggressive in ensuring up front payments, but despite that, the whole house packing and removal appeared to go well.
Unfortunately from that point onwards things went from bad to worse.
The return delivery was strange in that they split it out over several days, (nearly a week) which meant we could not really properly unpack.
On unpacking - we started to discover that valuable furniture and items that been stored showed signs of a) water damage and b) many items were just physically wrecked, with big dents, holes and deep scratches. One chest of drawers was practically reduced to firewood.
Reassembly of all the large items was very poor and many items were damaged. All of it had to be re-done professionally, including getting obscure new fittings where these had been wrecked by the removal company’s overenthusiastic use of power tools/impact drivers.
Rolled carpets had been subsequently folded in storage, meaning that they never went down properly again, and two had to be replaced. The “best” two each required no less than three visits from a professional carpet fitter to finally get them re-fitted to how they should be.
We were well insured by Hiscox, our insurance company (not the poor insurance offered by Andrew Porter Ltd) and this probably saved our sanity.
We subsequently made a successful five-figure claim on the many items we had discovered broken, wrecked or damaged, and all the remedial work took many months.
Sadly, as is always the case - we still keep finding broken or damaged items months after this awful experience - that we hadn’t noticed at the time.
It’s really not nice to have to write such a poor review - especially when we always try to support local small businesses.
Unfortunately our experiences with this company, and their reaction to the damage that our possessions and furniture suffered were just so appalling that I could not recommend the complete avoidance of this business strongly enough.
