I don’t even want to give 1 star
No one should even bank with this company they will steal your money than say it’s a process to access your money
I have a lot on money in this bank and they are making it extremely hard for me to get keep blocking my account than say I have to wait days I wait days than they say they need more time
I hate this bank
Even if you have money to waste I would still say don’t bank with greendot

GREEN DOT WILL TAKE YOUR MONEY!!!

NEVER, EVER, EVER BUY A PREPAID CARD BY GREEN DOT. THEY ARE DISGUISED SO TURN ONE OVER AND MAKE SURE THEY ARE NOT OFFERED BY GREENDOT. WALMART MONEY CARD BLOCKED MY CARD WITH $3000 ON IT AND SAID I NEEDED TO PROVE MY IDENTITY AFTER FOUR YEARS OF HAVING THE ACCOUNT. AFTER THREE MONTHS OF SENDING SCANS OF MY ID TO THEM AND THEM REFUSING THEM SAYING THEY WERE BLURRY, EXPIRED ETC ETC (when they were not) I HAD TO COMPLAIN TO THE FEDERAL RESERVE BANK, WHO REGULATES THEM. THE Process TOOK ANOTHER TWO MONTHS BEFORE THEY WERE FORCED TO Return MY MONEY PLUS FINES. DURING THIS HELLISH EXPERIENCE, I TALKED TO MANY MANY PEOPLE WHO WERE ROBBED OF THEIR MONEY BUT JUST QUIT PURSUING BECAUSE THE AMOUNT WAS WAY SMALLER. DONT LOSE YOUR MONEY. THE FIGHT IS LONG AND ARDUOUS TO GET IT BACK.

I purchased a 50$ Green dot Visa card…

I purchased a 50$ Green dot Visa card at 7’11 and when I called to activate it the lady runs my receipt my purchase my info and all she says is
“I’m sorry ma’am but we cannot retrieve any info and I advise you to make a police report” then she hangs up.And I’m so mad because that was my last 50 I had till payday. I made the report but I’m still scammed of 50$ period
So annoyed

My partner told me years ago never use…

My partner told me years ago never use green dot. From issues to simply activate the card, to creating unsolicited charges then blaming the merchant, on up to random blocks on transactions labeling them fraudulent with no justification. It's giving scamming bank. Unless you have the cashflow to let your money linger and wait several business days until its returned back to you, based on their bs proceduresI WOULD NEVER USE GREEN DOT!

I will never purchase a green dot card…

I will never purchase a green dot card again and I will make sure nobody else does either. You already pay for the card and pay to have funds uploaded on it. Customer service is trash, I was hung up on not once, not twice but four times... It's a prepaid card there should be no fee to keep account active.

Its as close to a scam as possible

Its as close to a scam as possible. What an awful "bank". Completely untrustworthy. Closed my account and froze the money. Two weeks later and still have no information. When I call I'm placed on hold for like periods and then SOMEONE ALWAYS HANGS UP.

Charging me fees

Same thing they have been banging me 15 overdraft fees like crazzy n when my check gets deposited I'm still charged overdraft fees. They have there system rigged.. n then they start charging external fees with out my knowledge no paper statement was sent in mail they sais they sent through email well I don't u that email .. I should of got a mail copy as well so they have been charging me crazzzzy fees... don't use this bank .. varo is much better!!!

RUN AWAY from Green Dot/ Go Bank ASAP

Call Customer Resolution number @ 888 272 4395. O n hold while person " investigates" Barely can understand person. Call routed to India. Sorry but accent and call cutting out means call was over seas. NOT my first time with these people. Today 12/14 call Corporate Escalations @ 866 652 4611. Told they will get replacement card in 7 to 10 business days. I get to wait a month for funds???!!!! NOT!!!!! NEVER EVER use this card or company!!!!! You will get ripped off and regret EVERY single minute of dealing with their clueless customer support.

After getting billed for purchase I did…

After getting billed for purchase I did not make on my walmart money card , my card was blocked and a new card was mailed to me . I needed to activate this new card . I was unable to successfully activate . After 4 hours wasted on phone with 3 different agents at green dot , I still cannot use this card . Sent verification codes and photo id to no avail . GREEN DOT / WALMART MONEY CARD IS HOLDING SEVERAL THOUSAND DOLLARS OF MY MONEY HOSTAGE BECAUSE OF THEIR FAULTY WEBSITE !
BUYER BEWARE ! THIS BANK WILL TAKE YOUR MONEY HOSTAGE . CUSTOMER SERVICE IS ONLY LIP SERVICE .

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.
I had $1975 taken from my account within 30 minutes of receiving funds. They have denied the dispute twice and won’t give me my money back. The person who took it has no phone number or address.

NOW THEY HAVE CONTACTED ME BECAUSE OF THIS COMPLAINT, ONLY TO SEND ME AN EMAIL SAYING THEY DID NOTHING WRONG. THEN GIVE ME MY MONEY BACK!!!

Scamming greendot

On November 14th I ordered an item from Walmart I canceled the order on the 16th of November greendot took 20.31 from my account I received the notification they tell me they don't see the transaction I screenshotted 3 pics of my notification transaction I want my money back refunded to my card that's the only solution

They're customer service is horrible to find out anything. Do if your money disappears from your account with no transactions after it and they cut you a check. So went to bank to cash the check and it's cashed already.......

Don't use GREEN DOT

I just want to say one thing if your looking for a bank don't use GREEN DOT for anything pre. Pay or bank they will not stand be hind you at all. They won't work with you trying to finger out something to have them end your chats... Hold money that's not there's for months at a time before they give it to you... Lock your card out for no reason.... Just bull **** how they work so from some one that tried using them for 4years they never got any better... I just went and got a new bank account and they have been more help in the past two months then green dot ever was....

Customer services lies on lies

I don't know how Green Dot provides banking services for Intuit. However, I opened a Quickbooks Online banking account, which was held at Green Dot. This first day of business in 2023, with no notice, Intuit closed the account, and still after an entire week has provided no information about why the account was closed, and why $24K in funds are being held. No explanation after talking to six different people across different groups. I thought I should at least reach out to Green Dot since one chat rep from Intuit said I should. I will tell you that I couldn't get a hold of any one at Green Dot initially by phone since the only way you can do that is to enter a debit card number. But since my account was closed, the number wasn't recognized. I had to provide feedback through their site (not an official support channel). I received an email that customer support had tried to contact me but were unable to leave a message. I called the support number in the email and got the same line. Here's the thing: my voicemail works, and I could see the hangup in my VOIP system from an unidentified 800 number. Then the support person tells me to make sure to be available since they will call me back. I provided my direct line to make sure I didn't miss a call. Which never came. That's two customer services LIES in one short day. This bank is clearly PATHOLOGICAL. I'd rather have zero customer support than negative, time-wasting lies. Avoid Green Dot at all costs!

This is the most FEE-HAPPY place I’ve…

This is the most FEE-HAPPY place I’ve ever done business with. When you overdraft, you supposedly have 24 hours to bring your account up to positive or they charge $15.00. However, they do not wait 24 hours to take out the fees!! This has happened to me TWICE within a week, and BOTH times my account was brought up way before the 24 hours was expired!! I got one reversed by a supervisor, the other I’m still arguing with them about. It’s in plain black and white, I don’t understand why it’s so difficult for them to see. I have proof of everything which I’ve sent them. I’m changing companies asap.

Monthly fee for gift card 🤯🤬

My 11 year old daughter got a $100 green dot gift card from her Grandma for Christmas. 10 months later, she is trying to use it, only to find out they’ve been charging a $7.95 monthly fee this whole time! The most ridiculous horse crap I have ever heard of! NEGATIVE 5 star review here!!

I would actually put a negative 5 stars…

I would actually put a negative 5 stars on here if it was possible. I had my account blocked after getting a couple of deposits including my paycheck. After 5 days and countless calls my account is still blocked and I have no access to my funds. Total bs especially since I had submitted the documents they requested 3 mins after they requested them. I wouldn't recommend them to my worst enemy

I was told I could pay bills with this…

I was told I could pay bills with this card. That was a lie. I tried 8 times and failed to pay my car insurance. I could not use the card to buy gas after that. I called for help and they said they would waive the $7.95 fee, they failed. I was cheated and lied to by Green Dot, I want a refund of all fees, nothing was good, not even the customer servive!!!!! -5 stars, sorry I made the mistake of buying this card, Netspend was 100% perfect in comparison, and that is soooo sad!

No working employees it seems

They charge 9.99 a month and they are not user friendly and you cannot even chat with somebody nor does it easily list a way to contact them. It says I cannot link my external bank account without the contact info matching and it is the exact same!!!! I hate being controlled!!!
