Ten years ago we used Larken’s to manage my mums estate follow her death.
We used the same firm following my father’s death in December 2024.
What a contrast ! The service received for mums estate was tremendous. The service received following dad’s death was the opposite.

An excellent service provided, representing me during a probate dispute.
Sensible, pragmatic advice given throughout, with realistic expectations. Speed of response was very good, and I was kept informed of costs. The letters written by Lesley Purveur during the process were precise and eloquent, well thought-out; and firmly polite in correcting the ‘other side’ without being inflammatory.
I would thoroughly recommend Larken & Co.

I instructed Lesley Purveur from Larkens in Newark to take on a case of someone breaching a contract.

Well so much to say & so little space to put it but from the offset she has been like a rabied animal never giving in to the other sides solicitor whatsoever.

I would hate to of been on the receiving end of what she was firing at the other side as each time the other side were caught lying at every turn (which we could provide evidence each time proving their lies) & never once did she let go of the case.

Yes hiring a solicitor like this is not cheap nor is it stress free & ill be honest the whole thing took me to some very dark places but she was utterly brilliant throughout & to be fair i loved that about her & her professionalism was first class, reminded me of the headmistress we were all petrified of lol.

Well done Larkens for getting this over the line and most importantly in our favour & Lesley if you read this then i am forever indebted to you for your kindness to me & flawless service from the start.

We have used Larken & Co on previous occasions for house conveyances. On this occasion we needed their advice and guidance concerning our role as executors to a relative’s estate. Initially our point of contact was Amy Jones for what we thought would be a simple, straight forward grant of probate. However this turned into an experience involving litigation as a caveat to the will was lodged which impeded progress. The case was seamlessly transferred to Lesley Purveur who administered it to the end of the litigation phase before transferring back to Amy upon receipt of the grant of probate. Despite much of the case taking place during Covid lockdown, we were kept fully informed of all aspects. After some two years a successful outcome for the beneficiary of the will was achieved

My experience of working with Larken & Co has been outstanding in every respect. Lesley has kept us informed every step of the way. The professional advice has been excellent, timely and of a very high quality. Unfortunately, the solicitors acting on behalf of the other side have been far from helpful, but this hasn't deterred Lesley who has helped to progress our case. I feel Larken & Co offer excellent service, good value for money and take great care to fully understand and act appropriately. I will definitely use them again in the future and highly recommend them.

I have dealt with Larken & Co as a client and I have also dealt with them in my work with a voluntary organisation. I have found them to be professional, prompt and friendly, and am happy to recommend them.

Do not use for the sale of property. On two occasions I had to ask for assistance from colleagues of my solicitor as she did not respond to emails or phone calls. Only then did I receive a response albeit with no apology. Very unprofessional.

Avoid This Company They Are Disgraceful

Avoid using this very uncompassionate, thoughtless, aggressive and totally unprofessional company. I had a bill that I was paying by agreed installments, I became seriously ill and could not make the final payment of £300

The solicitor who undertook the work for me said that she would inform accounts not to pursue. Despite this I was threatened by one of the owners of the company a female who made horrendous threats to me. I had just lost my uncle to the corona virus, my fiancé was working in A&E on the corona virus unit at the time when there was a shortage of PPE and was working 12 hour shifts in tough conditions.

I kept Larken & Co informed that I was at that stage unable to pay the £300 and that I required more time, they ignored this and made horrendous threats which had a detrimental effect on my health in an already stressful time.

I had regularly made payments so this was not a case that I did not want to pay, it was simply at that present time I had no income and could not afford to pay as I had not worked for seven months as my industry was on lockdown and I was not entitled to any government help which in itself was a disgrace.

This company was not one bit compassionate, all they wanted was their £300 no matter what, despite the fact that I had a payment plan in place.

They threatened to take me to court which was an absolute joke as any Sane Judge would have kicked the case and them out of court.

Save yourself lots of trouble and use a reputable company, one who does not make threats to a vulnerable person.

Their complaint system is NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE. They did not even have the social intellegence to telephone me to discus this matter like an adult would.

This whole matter could have been handled in a professional and compassionate manner and not Bully and make horrendous threats to one of their customers.

I deeply regret ever Instructing this "Cowboy Outfit" of a company!

I made complaint to The Legal Ombudsman, what an absolute bunch of usless cowards they are. A male staff member at Larken & Co who deals with the complanits who ironically is one of the partners would not provide me when requested the information I required to made my case to The Legal Ombudsman, claming that The Legal Ombudsman would not request such information. This staff member even made direct contact with The Legal Ombudsman and instructed that they do not investigate my complaint, now the best bit, The Legal Ombudsman then refused to look into my case, now there is a fine example of The Tail Wagging The Dog, very suspisious and when I have told others of this matter they expersss that there must be underhanded behaivor going on, very corrupt one would think.

So what is the point of having The Legal Ombudsman when they are totally spinless and some would say CORRUPT!

It just goes to show in times like these how companies are willing to use threats and bullying towards a vunerable person.

They are a COWBOY OUTFIT!

You only have to read what other customers think of Larken & Co on any "Review Solisitor" websites and you can see that I am not the only person who has received such an appauling service from this company.
