Our experience with Laser Learning…

Our experience with Laser Learning Awards has been extremely disappointing and, frankly, concerning.

After engaging with them in good faith and asking a straightforward question about how we were expected to access appropriate training resources, we were taken aback by the response. Instead of being provided with clear guidance, support materials, or even direction aligned with their own standards, we were effectively pointed toward a competitor’s resources.

For an awarding organisation, this raises serious questions about credibility, quality assurance, and the level of support offered to training providers. It is not unreasonable to expect that an organisation responsible for qualifications would either supply, endorse, or at the very least properly guide centres toward suitable learning materials — not redirect them elsewhere in a way that undermines confidence in their own provision.

This experience has left us questioning their professionalism and the value they bring to training providers. Support should feel like support — not deflection.

We would strongly advise others to carefully consider their options before committing.

Edit
There was no advice or asssitance in any manner what so ever. We have escalated this to Ofqual and the SIA as your organistaion is pointless as there is no help or assistance and we could have saved our self a lot of time and effort if we had just went to Highfield first as they were extremely helpfull, their customer service was excellent and were truly helpful and not just wanting to make money.

As we've explained to you, it is unfortunate that you misunderstood all the guidance and information we provide in relation to what is expected of an approved training centre, and did not check your understanding of what would be supplied before making your application, then quoted information from the website of an unrelated company which you had thought was ours, when you repeatedly requested a refund.

As we have also explained to you, we and other Awarding Organisations do not have a publications arm of our business and therefore we (and others) openly recommend Highfield's high quality training materials for licence-linked security qualifications, which are publicly available for anyone to purchase.

Finally, we have also advised you that you may take your issue to our regulator if you remain unhappy.

We wish you success with your venture into delivering training.

Badly designed

As a company regulated by Ofqual the service provided is worryingly bad.
The examination package has clearly not been tested (or perhaps not recently); you need a login and more than one passwords to access the exam but are not allowed to have the email that provides these open.
Logging out/completing the exam is also fraught with issues as if you submit, click "final" and then stop screen sharing you will fail. You must close another tab then click another button but this is never explained.
Ignoring the poor design in many ways the bigger issues is that cheating would be so easy. (The recommended scrap of paper to access the passwords, notes around the screen, etc - an endless list of possibilities.)
A "pass" is just as likely to represent success navigating the IT system than understanding or ability.
My company's experience is poor and if possible I would recommend other platforms.
Ofqual should review this immediately.
