Got Scammed

I dont want to say it but they scamed me

so i was using linode and lastly i cancelled account due to fund problems but i reconsidered as i still has funds so try to re sign up again and again still rejected as fraud wth how does i fraud on you company i contacted them waited and wait nope no answer so

I don't recommend it at all i use them for 1-2 month and they doing this on me why dude

(I'm Non us user idk why)

I have servers at Linode even before it…

I have servers at Linode even before it was sold to Akamai. My experience of more than 6 years with Linode is excellent. Sure, the support isn't great, but who needs to open a support ticket when everything works fine?

What I manage is the performance of the servers. I have a VPS with a dedicated CPU and it's great. SLA 99.99999% and very fast server response.

Linode provides top-notch DNS to the world and rich documentation for customers to study. That is all!

Hates money and customers

I'd love to not have to rent Amazon web services, but Linode just hates money and new customers. Literally impossible to create an account there.
The 'blindfolded shotgun' method on cancelling sign ups is not a standardized security measure, if you didn't know, Linode.

Happy Linode user since 2014

I started using Linode in 2014 and am a happy customer to this day. They run about 20 of my servers, hosting my services for a few hundred thousand users. Uptime and support are great. In fact, I decided to write this because I had a very good support experience (fast response with great information) just yesterday. Their object storage is useful, but it could be a little faster. Finally, I think their prices are very competitive. To me, for 9.5 years and counting, they are an excellent provider.

Cost Rising, Slow Support Times

While linode is a alright host, it has its issues and a lot of them. They used to offer MongoDB Hosting, however stopped after no update to the community. Costs have also risen, while other competitors have lower costs. Support is also very slow, and it takes days for support to finally reach out.

Lots to like

Lots to like with them after moving from a competitor. Value pricing and they are way better at batting off fake DMCA notices and take due care to only follow through if it's correct and valid. Other hosts take clearly abusive reports and treat them seriously.

Where is customer support?

We have a load balancer that equally distributes tasks across 7 servers, suddenly 1 of those servers is taking 100% CPU while the rest are taking 30% for the same load. This has negatively impacted performance. I opened a ticket more than 16 hours ago, no reply yet...

Edit: Is the ticketing system broken? - When did the process change from creating a ticket to needing to call?

my account was closed after 30 minutes…

my account was closed after 30 minutes of signup , and giving my credit card details .
I received an email that says :
A recently created account with this email address was canceled by our automated systems. This was due to activity or patterns associated with fraudulent behavior. Additional attempts to sign up may also be rejected.
What type of fraud ? seriously ?
I was excited to use Linode after reading customer reviews
But now , I think I'll keep using AWS

I signed up for Linode and had false positive account block

I signed up for Linode and had a false positive fraudulent activity notification after signup. I sent and an email and received no response after 2 days. As infuriating as that was I loaded 10 dollars call time and called them, spoke to a lady named Abrose or Amber, cant remember for sure. I recieved curteous and professional service. Just for this, I will choose Linode.

Not serious

Not serious. I used their website email to contact them (aug 22) about a serious copyright infringement. A website has stolen my posts and is blatantly profiting off of them with display ads. Meanwhile Linode is hosting them and has blatantly ignored my emails. I sent them all the information. Every day they are profiting more and Linode is just radio silence and has done nothing. Where are the ethical concerns? Follow up sent 2 weeks later absolutely nothing. I have never seen anything like this.
*Update: I have re-sent according to information provided below. It's a shame you never followed up earlier a month ago and users now have to resort to adding a public review to request assistance. I look forward to seeing how serious you are dealing with the copyright complaint.

The best way to file an abuse report is through our abuse portal – emails sent to abuse@linode.com might be delayed in processing:

Once the report is received, it is escalated to our Trust and Safety team for investigation. From there, they will require some additional information regarding your complaint, such as identifying the copyrighted work, the infringing material that should be removed, and so on. Once they've received the required information, they are able to take action and report this copyrighted content to the respondent.

Can't contact them or call them or even sign in

This is what they told me after I tried to make an account. I tried to fill in everything correctly and did everything as they said, only to be terminated right after.

When mailing them I got no response and calling them didnt work because they hang up immediately. Can't seem to contact them anywhere :/ :/ :/

4 year old hardware

The support is great, but there are too many maintenance issues, every other month there is maintenance that requires powering off our servers. Every time there is maintenance they move us from Intel Gold which works OK to a 4 year old AMD CPU which cripples our app performance. It's very frustrating, they really need to update their hardware.

I cant even sign up

I cant even sign up, kept getting rejected by "automated system" for "fraudulent patterns" like what the hell????? I tried paypal credit and debit card and all got rejected, linode is racist just cuz i'm not from the USA doesnt mean i'm a fraud! I sent them support e-mail no response at all. I heard linode was good but looks like it's a scam wont even let me use it

Tech support is good

Tech support is good. uptime has been very good apart from 2 wordpress sites which had leaky cron scripts and consumed all ram, resulting in crash. After disabling wp cron it has been much more reliable. pricing is great, though backups @ 20% of server cost is too much. I tried probably 15 - 20 other cloud providers before settling on linode. 6 months in and I'm confident I made the right decision.

Why I am a lifelong Linode customer

I found linode through a small project I had done a few years ago. Since setting up my account and VPS services, I have remained a consistent customer. Their support team reached out to ensure everything could be backed up when upgrading for the spectre vulnerability, over 30 days in advance. Their uptime is amazing, and they continue to add features like their DNS and firewall services. The prices are extremely fair for the service provided, and they are an independent company.

False Advertising, Terrible Support

They advertised that they are giving free $100 credit. But, if we signup, they cancel our signup without even allowing us to know why they cancelled our account. Additionally, we are unable to contact them via email or phone. I sent an email, no response. Tried to call, no one pick up the call. Worst experience! Linode = Sh*** Support. Stay away from this fraud company, guys!

If you called in and no one answered, you have the option to leave a voicemail which will be returned ASAP. Canceled my account due to budget…

Canceled my account due to budget reasons and I try to remake my account i fill everything out and then they cancelled my account setup and for that reason I'd saggiest you just run your own home labs without using linode

Good but no FIDO key = Not for high security projects

We've had a great experience with them for many years.
My only concern is that they do not provide a way to authenticate with FIDO keys. It's unfortunate because it makes the whole thing not-so-secure for projects that require a high level of security. Almost every bank and so many hosting companies use FIDO keys, it's been on Linode's requested features for years (by dozens of customers) but they haven't done anything about it.
Overall I would recommend for projects where security is not critical.
