Great concept and easy to use App

Great concept and easy to use App. However, I haven't been able to use it in its full extent as I have been having troubles with making payments into the account.
I have contacted my bank, which reports no issues, for some reason transactions are no authorized.

Limited costumer assistance as works through AI and unable to answer more complex questions.

Customer support is next to not existent.

Customer support is only via chat, even the phone number to stop/block plastic card if it was lost is not working. It looks as on the other side "live agents" dealing with multiple customers at same time. Response time is very slow.
Sent some money to the Revolut account, but it got blocked and money stuck in the account. Spent hours trying to get through to the "live agent" because the app is just stuck on "looking for an agent...". Still fughting to get to my money.
Avoid, don't be foolled by ads like me.

I find Revolut brilliant,it is so easy…super card

I find Revolut brilliant,it is so easy to use ,whenever I need to pay in a different currency I just top up my card which takes less than a minute and pay, I always know how much I have on my card and can see a record of all my purchases , transfers etc super convienent.

I love using Revolut

I love using Revolut, it's very handy if I need to buy anything in a foreign currency as you are only changed the exchange rate with no commission. This saves me lots of money. It's also handy if I need to send money to somebody.

SCAM SCAM SCAM

JUST STOLEN THOUSANDS FROM ME!!

I woke up today with a message saying they need to re-verify my ID. This is odd as I have been a Revolut user for years and had it as my primary bank account since that option became available. So I went ahead and submitted my ID and everything they requested. What I soon learnt was they've locked every feature of my account. I can't pay my bills, I can't pay for shopping, I can't buy stuff or send money. My account is locked! I have payments due and I need to do shopping and now I can't because of these scammers!!


Later on my documents turned out to be rejected. Not once, but twice. With no reason at all. It's a 100% valid passport and driving license, I've checked every detail, there's no legitimate reason for them to be holding my account.

Thieves is the only reason. They're gonna keep claiming my documents aren't valid until I have no option but to give up and accept my losses. I'm so angry right now, they've just taken all I have from me I don't even know what to do. Now they've stolen everything from me my credit card balance won't cover all my bills and shopping until I get paid again and start fresh

Fees and cooling off for additional services not in terms and conditions

Was very happy with revolut until I upgraded to their next level up service ironically.

The option was to pay for a month (NOT note "per month for a 12 month period") or pay for a year. I opted to pay for a month as I knew I might not want the additional services for a whole year, even though this option was more costly.

There was NO mention of any fees for cancellation or any cooling off period either on signing up, or indeed on checking their terms and conditions, something which I have gone back and double checked and screenshot.

After just over a month of the additional services I noticed I had been charged for a second month, checked my usage and I decided to revert to a basic account as my fiance already has an upgraded account and we decided we didnt both need the extra services.

On trying to cancel I was informed that I had to pay an extra 2 months of services (4 months in total) because I had passed a 14 day cooling off period. This cooling off period and fee is not noted ANYWHERE nor is it advised upon taking the additional services.

I have complained to 3 separate people at revolut .. only by online message since there appears to be no other means to contact them and each time they took half an hour to reply by which time I was off line. The most recent being a manager called maria, who again just refered to terms and conditions with NO reference to where this is actually stated or WHY it is not noted very clearly on signing up for extra services and with absolutely NO interest whatsoever in solving this.

As far as I am concerned this is a breach of distance selling regulations and of contract not to mention terrible customer service.

I asked for a detailed email response and havent received this.

Now i have no option but to refer this to the ombudsman.

Given I was previously a happy revolut customer as was my partner and that we travel alot and live abroad, revolut are now losing two regular users and we will make sure all of our expat friends are aware of this too.
