This company just blocked my account

This company just blocked my account at one point simply because I live in Russia. They did not give me a single minute to enter my personal account. By their actions they support the dictatorship!

Putin dreams of isolating Russia from the global internet. The Internet interferes with his military propaganda and helps the opposition educate Russian citizens.

By helping him in this, the companies help him to keep power and continue the war in Ukraine.
Putin is not Russia! It is extremely important that people of the country who do not believe the propaganda and who participate in anti-war protests stay in touch with each other and with people abroad, it is crucial that we are able to learn the truth about current events and are able to share it. Do you want Russians to fight the regime and demand the war to be stopped? In this case do help Russians with access to information!

Today the internet is the battlefield where common sense fights against the machinery of government. Please, do not help the repressive state win.

Sedo is no longer the best choice

I've had a Sedo account for well over a decade and seen how the platform has evolved during that time. Or rather I should say how it has failed to evolve.

Sedo's admin interface feels antique, literally from the 90s. Managing domains, especially bulk operations, is a chore.

Sedo's automated review system which checks if domains are still registered (quite a clever idea) often returns false positives and removes domains from my account. Adding the domains back is extremely annoying because their verification system is so strict.

I don't often need the help of their customer service, but when I had in the past, almost always as part of a sale that had been already agreed, the response times from customer support were measured in days.

Sedo's commissions are ridiculously high, and their payments to sellers take forever to arrive.

Despite all the above, Sedo still enjoys a good amount of traffic and their partner network is extensive, so listing domains on Sedo will get you a lot of exposure.

SEDO was great a decade or so ago when they didn't have much or any competition. But we now have new platforms that show us how much better and efficient a domain marketplace can be.
We now have choice and it looks like Sedo is no longer the best choice.

Takes too long, and they will hold your money for 60 days!!

The transfer process takes too long. I did everything as soon as requested, and the initial transfer process to the new buyer took nearly one month. Then after the transfer, they said they would HOLD my money for the sale for 60 DAYS because of a domain lock. I was NEVER informed this could happen and nothing was communicated until after the fact. Reading forums I see this is a common occurrence. SELLER BEWARE! So essentially Sedo will keep my money for 3 months. Ridiculous!!!

This place is amazing

This place is amazing! Everyone is so knowledgeable and friendly. Molly is so sweet and does amazing work! If I could stop by and get treatments weekly I would!

I was asked to verify the ownership of…

I was asked to verify the ownership of my own domain when I asked them to remove the fake listing. This place is full of many domains listed by scam sellers I guess. When a concern arises they should check with their own seller instead of asking me to verify myself. I don't want to prove my ownership to some marketplace. I feel sorry about the person who is going to buy this domain from Sedo, because they aren't going to receive it ever.

Currently there are over 20 million domains from sellers listed on our marketplace. It happens in a few cases that sellers do not keep their portfolio up to date and therefore a domain that has already been sold or whose contract period has expired is still for sale. However, our security measures would cancel the selling process in such a case so that buyers are protected anyway.

Due to the GDPR regulations the Whois of domains is not visible to us or any Third Parties and therefore not verifiable without your support. We had told you one way how we could have checked this quickly. You did not want to accept this, and have therefore rather chosen the way of giving us a negative evaluation.

Professional and really worth the commision

We've recently bought a domain through Sedo. It's a bit of a lenghty process that took up to 2 months for us. Thanks to Sedo-agent Yiqiu Tao it always felt like smooth sailing - also when the seller was a bit slow to respond. Yiqiu was very supportive, fast and pro-active. I can definitely recommend Sedo, and if you're lucky your agent is Yiqiu :)

Great domain selling/parking website!

I use sedo to park my domains and earn a little revenue. So far it has been great using them! Still waiting to get my first domain sale through them.
