Kafkaesque

Unable to identify, let alone fix, technical problems. Billing issues the same. Customer service is a layered system of clueless bots operating on simplistic rules.

Pure Scamming Scum

I have been with this hosting company for years and it seems they have been taken over by a bunch of scammers. A few days ago my site all of a sudden was infected with malware. I contacted site5 support and they suggested I contact a company called sitelock to have the problem repaired. I asked if sitelock and site5 were affiliated. The support said no. The dumb ass created scanreport.txt for me. In that file which shows that malware was present it had the name sitelock! These phucks infect your site with their malware and then tell you to use the same phucks to fix it! There's no phone to call and they hide behind their keyboards. Pure scum!!!

Turning off auto-renew doesn't stop…

Turning off auto-renew doesn't stop them from charging you again. When you try to contact customer service, you are then sent to a foreign customer service that feels even more like a scam than trying to service you.

As I said, after the whole experience with them, you feel like you've been totally scam.

Site5 charged my account a $318 renewal…

Site5 charged my account a $318 renewal for 3 years despite my TURNING OFF auto renew, and writing 3 times to cancel my account 3 weeks before the previous subscription expired.

They would not reverse the charge despite my warning that the charge would be disputed!

Shout out to inmotionhosting.com where I migrated my site to, and where everything works flawlessly like it should.

Absolutely terrible customer service!!

Absolutely terrible customer service. They charge $40 for SSL and they don't allow customers to install their own. Their tech support has to manually do it. They don't send a reminder or auto-renew SSL. Mine just expired so I requested a new one. I paid for it. 6 days later and numerous messages sent through their ticket system I've only received one response and that was to make sure to pay for it and send them confirmation. I did and now no response. No phone number to call or chat option. Guess I'll have to deny the charge on my card and move my site elsewhere.

Stay away from site5

I've been a site5 customer for many years.
In the last few years the tech support has been degrading rapidly. It's not so much that they can't resolve a problem eventually but that these problems exist in the first place. For example I used to be able to create a website and install wordpress and it would propagate within an hour. Now 11 days later they tell me that the IP number was incorrect. Shouldn't they be setting the correct default IP number..?
And now all of my historical tickets are gone and there is no way to create one on the site. so it's all based on using the chat feature (which was the faster way to get action anyway).
A few weeks ago one of my sites got corrupted.
That never happened before. I have a feeling that they have lost their best techs and are just barely scraping by at this point. On top of that they have raised their prices significantly. I'll be leaving site5 a few months before my expiration.

Horrible. Unspeakable bad and morally bankrupt

After hosting a website with this company for close to a decade, I have now lost everything. My site crashed on January 1, 2023 and since then I have had nothing from Site 5 but deflection, prevarication, obfuscation and straight up lies. I get promised results within 24 hours, but receive nothing. I am told emails will come, but they never do. Ticket numbers are never resolved. With fears of 12 years of work being lost forever, I was talked into buying a new service so the old data could be migrated to a "new server". After I did so, I was then told my old site was too huge to move! When I insisted they restore my site to a pre-2023 version, I was told there was no backups prior to January, but now I'm told I'm using 79GB of data. This is a company of spiteful, morally bankrupt liars. 12 years of my life is gone thanks to this horrible company. Never use them

Find another host really. They are that bad.

It was going good when they bought out host excellence. Then my site got hacked (probably through
their website) Absolutely no customer support after that.
I migrated my site to another hosting service and It has been a nightmare to get them to stop charging my credit card. Worst ever fing another host

We chose this company many years back…now it sucks big time

We chose this company many years back and it was awesome, somehow the company got sold and now everything sucks. Logins stopped working and you cant't remove your credit card details, needed to call my bank and blacklist this company from using my creditcard because they wouldn't remove my creditcard details.

It deserves zero starts - they rob customers money

It deserves zero starts, Thieves, they keep customers car on file, and take hundreds of dollars from customers bank before billing date, then they say it is their policy and that they cant refund. Stay away from this company. And always remove your car info from everywhere, cant trust any of these companies. they make policies to rob people and use their policy to justify robbing people.

Deterioated in the last few years

I was hosting my website since 2006 and the company was on top by that time. Now they are not really competetive anymore: poor service (40 dollars per year for SSL?), very expensive, poor costumer service (my website got hacked and I had to search for professional help). There are plenty of other good providers out there an I am glad that I switched recently (even if I never got my 300 Dollars (2 years contract) reimbursed. Site5 became really bad.

Used to be so so good hosting websites…

Used to be so so good hosting websites with Site 5 but now stay far far away. Worse company to deal with Cannot get a straight answer always excuses Very Very poor service. Emails down daily cpanel down website flakey and their technicians have no idea how to resolve a simple issue. If you want to waste money and have headaches everyday sign up with Site 5 Cannot believe I am taking my time to write this as its not worth my time it but to warn others

Lost my sites for over a week

Lost my sites for over a week, support was awful, always disconnecting and given a new story as to why. Found out they migrated my server without telling me. One tried to tell me my disk usage was over plan and I need to upgrade, Which was complete BS. When I call him out, he disconnected.

Migrating to a new host now, these guys suck.

Quality of service has been going…

Quality of service has been going downhill.
We have been using Site5 since 2012 for our websites.
Prices have doubled since then for the same Legacy server. No SSL with Let'sEncrypt possible ; PHP version stuck at 7.0 not possible to upgrade, and causing HTTP Errors 500.
We decided to move to another provider.

Do not host with Site5 otherwise you will lose business.

For six days I was without websites and emails. Their support team was very poor during this period.

Due to a loss of service, I visited their server status page where it stated they were migrating some reseller accounts to a new and improved server. It should be resolved within 3 days. There was no prior warning about this. 3 days turned into 6 days.

No response to complaints either about this.

Very poor service. Do not use Site5,

Terrible

Terrible! Their servers constantly had problems and frequent downtimes. Eventually, when we moved to a different hosting company and cancel with Site5, they were not even considerate enough to offer partial refund for the remaining term. STAY AWAY!

Stay away.

Stay away.
Site5 has deteriorated in service and support so that they are now completely unreliable. I hosted my site there for years but since a recent sale to some faceless new company Site5 is now among the worst businesses I have ever had the misfortune to come across.

Border line scam

Phishing email from Site5??

Cancelled my account with them several years ago. Today I got an email saying...

"Your payment has been declined. Domain: (my domain name here.com) Our information indicates that the payment method you used to purchase your account with Site5 was declined. Contact your bank for more details on the refusal of payment. To avoid interruption of service, update your payment information now."

The email headers indicate this came from site5 but since I don't have an account, I have no idea what they are up to.
