It works

I was skeptical at first. But I must admit, it does work.
Video quality does improve when using Topaz AI video.
I like the fact that you can have some default / auto settings to start with to get you going when you don't exactly know what your doing, but have the option to finetune as you get more experienced.
You do need a heavy computer or rather heavy graphical card if you want the program to run quickly

Gigapixel 7.0

I purchased Gigapixel 7.0 upon learning it replaces ver 6.0. I can often get good results with version 6.0, but not always, on images scanned from negatives or prints. The results depend on the quality of the resolution and my hope was that 7.0 would be a step up on low resolution images. Alas, it's better but still not acceptable on those low resolution images. I also own Photo AI and impressed how often it's updated. Topaz works hard and I expect the same with Gigapixel 7.0 and look forward to seeing the program progress.

After installing the current upgrade…

After installing the current upgrade and running Topaz Photo AI, Windows 10 had a hard shutdown (Windows System Error Log showed blue screen listing). This also was the situation with the upgraded Topaz Gigapixel AI. Previous versions worked fine without errors. I will follow-up with Topaz when I have some free time.

Topaz PhotoAI does a LOT

Topaz PhotoAI does a LOT! And it's smart enough to do what is needed to optimize the photo - whether it's in need of more bits' resolution or sharpening or noise.
I shoot high school night football and highly detailed shots in church services from the balcony. With my Olympus EM-1 MkII 4/3 format I can shoot upwards of 20,000 ISO and kill noise so long as my image is well focused, and I can shoot a church sanctuary with hundreds of worshipers and choir members at 1200+ ISO and retain individual facial expressions throughout. And crop/print up to 16 x 20 just fine.
It's my secret sauce for delivering superior quality images.
Occasionally I'll find some small detail that has sharpened with some stray manifestations, but they're nearly always very small. Earlier versions had somewhat of issues like this but it's really good now.

Easy to use and easy to adjust your workflow as needed.

Easy to use, always looking to improve their product, love getting the free updates during my one year subscription. And love getting the yearly discounted subscription price to keep my topaz subscription up to date. The product is still mine, even if I choose not to update....for me that is a big plus!

I’m still new to Topaz Video but so far I love it!

I’m still new to Topaz Video but so far it is seriously amazing. I shoot wildlife. There are a number of times when an animal did something but spectacular and unexpected that I should have been shooting in slow motion. I’ve now processed about a half dozen or so. They look great! No one would know they weren’t shot at 120fps. Wish it could process raw RED and Canon files. Maybe they’re working on that but for now I can just transcode them into a .mov or .mp4 An extra step but well worth it.

Amazing results

The quality of the output has really impressed me. Upscaling and enhancing older miniDV footage is something I have been looking for and with the flexibility and ease of use plus the ability to set custom templates has made this a reality. The speed to process when many of the AI tools enabled gets understandably slow so hearing audio on the preview would help for slicing down the clip accurately to reduce this processing overhead. Outcomes are incredible.

Topaz has become the detail improving leader

What we care about is the quality and practicality of your products. You've made tremendous progress in making miracles with respect to processing digital captures. Scans of film can't yet be well sharpened or scaled up with sharpening, but you've become the leaders in image detail. The various shortcomings of the AI sharpening and upscaling process, given that the processing speed issue has been pretty well resolved in both our hardware and in your code, are the top issue. I'm not sure yet whether the latest version avoids the excessive brightening of near-specular (tiny) highlights. That problem requires a lot of manual retouching to address. Also, the old problem of roughly 512 x 512 square, low-contrast patterns in smooth (e.g. sky) areas needed to be solved and may have been -- I hope. But keep at it! Amazing work. The upgrade price should probably not be as high as 80% of the new price... Also, the overlap in functionality between the various product options is hard to figure out.

Fantastic product

Whenever I have a photo that needs a bit of sharpening or to get rid of the noise, Topaz is here to help. In the past, I used DeNoise and Sharpen, but with the integration of both products in Topaz Photo AI, it's even better and faster to make those corrections.

Topaz AI ... it's a potential solution

The purchase process was as expected. The Topaz AI for many images works fast to process the image; however, it seems that in some circumstances, the saved file doesn't appear the same as the image on screen when brought up in LRC. I still seem to use DXO PR3 more often than Topaz AI as I have saved and worked numerous images on both platforms with DXO looking much better.

AI Photo

The AI Product on Mac platform is fabulous. It is fast and does its job very decently. While there are cases where it fails and i have seen heavily cropped images of birds not coming up correctly.
You should introduce the RAW version were light and color correction are also possible

The windows version is a let down, it is too slow.

SW is unstable on my new MacBook Pro M3 Pro. I have to move mouse outside application to see result. Waiting for an update that can fix the issue. The result on the photo is good, but not the user experience.

I use all the Topaz AI software apps often

I use Photo AI, Megapixel AI, Sharpen AI, and DeNoise AI routinely to bring out faces, enlarge JPGs, sharpen my bird/animal photos, and remove noise. I think your products are amazing in how they bring out faces and sharpen and remove noise. I improve good images and save poor images. Truly amazing results!

Topaz Photo AI experience

I recently purchased another year of upgrade. My experience with Topaz was really good. The upgrade purchase was easy and I downloaded and updated without any issues.
I have been using Topaz softwares for the past few years, and very satisfied with the results that I achieved.
I can have more keeper than before.

The software is excellent, but...

The software is excellent, but if you take all the programs, too expensive for me personally.
After all, it's unfortunately not the only subscription you have these days.
That's why I only use the most important programs for me and not all of them.
Otherwise it would have been 5 Stars.

Up-rezzing a film/video library…

I've been up-rezzing a film/video distribution company's library (150+ programs) from Standard-Def MP4 files, mostly ripped from DVDs.

Starting in June of 2021 the up-rezzed videos mostly looked fantastic, especially close-ups of on-screen talent. But when processing a head-to-toe mid/wide shot, the talent's mouth and lips and teeth and tongue appear with ugly and distracting artifacts. It was probably a residue of imperfect de-interlacing.

Finally, in mid-2023, Topaz added a new algorithm called "Iris," which does a MUCH better job of facial up-rezzing. I'm now re-processing several files that didn't look good in their first up-rez.

So with AI and Machine Learning progressing so quickly, and Topaz updating their software every other week, I'm starting to realize that up-rezzing has become an ongoing process. Sigh.

Cannot load the application

gave the survey this score as I am unable to load the application even though I have attempted many times.

Each time I receive an error message.

If I could run the application, then I might have the opportunity to provide a more suitable rating.

Topaz… new level

I have had all their programmes since Topaz debuted. At the moment, I am only renewing my subscription for Video and Photo, and using the old version for the others. I will use them as long as I can afford them because they are worth it. Topaz has set a new level for graphics and video processing.

Topaz Photo AI rescues photos

Topaz Photo AI has rescued some of my best photos from the recycle bin. The noise can make a great photo unusable, but this program does a great job of clearing the noise away and preserving the photo. It also has several other features built in that have helped enhance great photos to make them just that much better. I highly recommend trying the demo on photos you think are a loss to see if this program will be right for you.
