Very positive experience

Before ordering from Uvinum I read reviews on here and was a bit concerned, but decided to place an order anyway
.I'm now glad I did. I ordered 3 litres of whisky and waited expecting a minor disaster. From the outset their communication was outstanding, albeit by email
I was able to track my delivery every step of the way and it arrived a lot faster than expected, well packaged and protected. All in all a smooth and stress free experience

Twice now I had a problem with delivery…

Twice now I had a problem with delivery that they just don't seem to be able to resolve; last year because of an address error the carrier was not able to deliver so my package was returned to Holland (from where it was dispatched) & resent a second time having amended the address but using the same tracking number. The courier seemed to have a mental block on the tracking number & the delivery failed a second time & was returned to Holland again. Only on the third attempt was my parcel delivered after a month delay.
When I repeated my order in May this year I carefully checked the O/C to make sure all the address details were correct but the shop in Holland decided to specify only part of the address using the incorrect postcode, so guess what - this parcel has also been returned to Holland. While all the ladies on the help desk have tried to assist as best as possible they are not very successful in achieving a solution. For this reason this will be the last time I use Uvinum!

Hi Nick, we have just checked what happened with your order again. We are sorry for the waste of time and energy with your last delivery.
In fact there has been a serie of problems to have this order delivered to you (and another order from you last year with the same shop). Both time the shop in Holland did not really understand your delivery address when they had to complete the delivery address fields internally for Post NL and they could not have Post NL to solve this and deliver either, even when the parcel was waiting for instructions in the UK... It is frustrating for us too and we have had a chat with the Dutch partner about your case and other UK address they did not put entirely too. Hopefully things have gone better with their UK deliveries this summer.
Thank you for your patience anyway and hope you will give it a try to reorder someday as the issue was only with this shop, not with the other orders you placed in between last Autumn.

Would have scored this higher but there was a slight problem with fulfillment which in truth was sorted very quickly. Definitely use this service again.

Great service and communication!

I ordered 12 bottles of vodka for a party and then I read the reviews. I stressed myself silly for 5 days thinking that it would turn up late, the order would be wrong or that everything would be broken!
I was very wrong and I think that everyone's reviews regarding this being a scam should be rescinded as its very misleading.
I ordered on Sunday and received today (Friday) and I was given full communication throughout the whole process. 5* quality. Cannot wait to order again.

email offer scam

I should have taken more notice of all the previous bad reviews here and on google maps. I receive regular invites by email, at least one a week. Each time the Pago de los Capellanes is intentionally priced lower in the email offering, than it is when you try to buy it online from the email link. In this case the wine is advertised at 10.10€ in the email and I placed an order and the credit card was charged. My friend then also tried to purchase the exact same product immediately afterwards and it had jumped to 18€ . After a few hours I received an email stating that the product was not available and I could either have a full refund or a credit on my account or an alternate wine?

This is a premeditated scam basically getting people to make orders based upon email offer prices that turn out not to be correct and then the product is not available, but only after they have charged your credit card.

Their intention I guess is that you will leave the funds on the account or take a substitute wine

I haven’t read yet a genuine positive review on this company and on the few times I have attempted to purchase product it is all ended in failure.

Order 368062I Misleading information.

Order 368062I have a problem I made your support team aware of on the day I received the delivery of the order above.

They have been sympathetic but have done nothing despite numerous calls and emails.

My patience is exhausted so I write to you directly.

The order above was for 6 X 75cl Ch. Lynch Bages 2015
You may be able to recognise that label from the thumbnail on the e-receipt

The wine I received was JM Cazes Paulliac. (Bottled at Ch L B but hardly its first wine as Uninum suggested)

Perhaps the low price should have told me this is unlikely be the 1st wine of the Chateau. But the price I paid was way, way in excess of the average cost of the wine you sent me.
Having ordered from you repeatedly in the past I do not believe the misrepresentation made of the wine or the poor service I have received to be anything more sinister than an overworked team. How would you propose my problem is dealt with fairly.

- No refund or replace of defective goods -

I've ordered 5 bottle if islay whiskey for a tasting. One of the bottles the Lagavulin 16 was in a rather high discount, which is also one of my fav. Islay so far, I was so happy to get it for a even better price. But to our surprise this bottle had a rotten taste and none smell. The cork was obviously not air tight.

I contacted the support how to get a replacement (for the open, but still full bottle) because the whiskey was rotten. They refused to refund or replace anything at all, without any chance. My arguments that I could also send the bottle in to proof my claim got ignored.

Instead they are insisting that I in person contact Diageo to solve the situation with the distillery directly, this is against law and I will contact my credit card institute to book the money back because of fraud.

Never again.

As a matter of fact and as our suppor team has explained you already, we and our partners do not take care of claim for faulty whiskies, even more when the Lagavulin you chose is one of our best seller and nobody ever claimed us about a faulty balt or faulty taste on one of those bottles. Also, the bottle you received was in perfect state when you received it; so our part of the job does not show evidence of any negligence or malpractice.
If you had to send the bottle in to proof to follow with a claim it is to the producer though. You can attach the purchase confirmation from us, to show them where you bought your bottle of course, but the producer is the one who should respond to our doubt about the smell and rotten taste. This whisky being part of Diageo group (https://www.malts.com/en-row/our-whisky-collection/lagavulin/lagavulin-16-years-old/) you can contact Diageo or contact directly the Distillery in the Isle Of Islay, Scotland +44 1496 302730. They are the experts of this field and the ones who should be able to advise you better and see if they have a solution for you.
I wish you would understand that we, at Uvinum, are not responsible to that type of incidence. We take care of sending you the goods you buy, so as the say, we take care of the service relating the your order, but not quallity issues. Finally, we are a serious company with a good reputation in our market.

Beware!

Beware! If your consignment is damaged whilst in transit (with UPS - twice so far of 4 orders) YOU will be responsible for loss on shipping costs. Uvinum will refund the base price of the broken bottle but they will not refund the shipping cost. Worse, their “Customer Services” department will insist that this is correct and fair. They refuse to replace the broken bottle and they will not make a pro rate refund. I will never place orders with Uvinum again.

Thank you for your review although it is not good. We just wanted to confirm that it is correct that with your last order with us, 1 bottle out of 12 was broken during the transit of your parcel unfortunately. So you were refunded the price of 1 bottle.
As people normally would understand, we, with Uvinum shipments, follow a policy and a series of rules to replace only one bottle. As your shipment was to a foreign country and your order did not match with the minimum price per bottle, the price of 1 bottle has been refunded to you instead of proposing you a replacement. We are sorry for the inconvenience caused because of the breakage. We respect your point of view, also the carrier is not refunding us and compensating us for the breakage so you would understand we cannot offer a free shipping either as a matter of compensation as you received your order ok, exceipt one bottle. And the carrier is charging us full price for a shipment of 12 bottles.
Also we can assure you we, in Uvinum, make sure the breakage rate is low with our carriers and the protecton inside our partners' parcels are reenforced in order to keep it low and give the best service to our customers at a very reasonable shipping price.

This is my worst ever internet purchasing experience.

I ordered 12 bottles, on 28th September.

Delivered 4th October, so far so good.

The wine was the wrong wine.

I complained, and asked for them to swap it.

They said that the wine that I had been sent was the latest version of it, which replaced the one I had ordered, so no swap necessary..

As it came from a different bodego, unlikely to be true.

Next they sent me an advert for the wine that I had ordered, so it appeared that it had not actually been replaced replaced?

I asked for the wine to go back.

They then started to make reference to the shop that supplied it, as if this was nothing to do with them. I reminded them that my contract was with them, and so they had to refund me. Their relationship with the shop had nothing to do with me.

They said that they would ask the shop to organise it.

Whilst we were away, in Canada, they turned up to collect it 2 hours after sending me an email saying they were coming to do that. So it was not collected.

When I returned, I asked them to try again.

Nothing happened for a while despite frequent reminders.

At one stage they said that the shop had said that they had tried twice to collect it, but I had decided to keep it, so no refund required. Again just not true.

Finally, on the 1st December they collected it.

I emailed daily to say that I had not received my refund yet.

Eventually, on 28th December they authorised a refund, exactly 3 months after my original order.

I suggested some compensation as a goodwill gesture, given how badly their customer care had been, but perhaps not unexpectedly, they were silent on the matter.

I will never buy from them again, as in particular they do not supply you directly but complicate it by dealing through independent suppliers that they have no control over, and would advise great caution to anybody considering to do so.

We have just read what happened with your order again before replying to you here and in fact from the beginning there has been a mistake from the shop that was sending you the wine from Spain. They thought the wine they sent you was the correct one, but finally, thanks to your detailed replies, we could have them pick your bottles up. They do not have exactly the same wine on sale (same name, same grape, same vintage but different cellar) apparently. We are sorry again for the inconvenience caused and the time all this has taken to be solved.
It is true that we in Uvinum are not the direct seller sending the wines. We are which is called a marketplace. However we are in charge of our webpage, we do the customer service between the final customers and the shops who put their catalogue on Uvinum and above all we feel responsible for the service the shops give to our customers. This position sometimes can complicate things but many times, believe us, we are the voice of the customers buying Spanish wines from abroad and we work hard to listen and take care of our customers. We really aim to provide our customers relevant and helpful information as well about our wines and get a good follow-up about their case in case of a problem. Now your case is solved, but we hope next time we will be faster!

Reviews not correct. Please read.

I read the reviews on trustpilot before ordering and thought I would chance ordering 3 bottles of rum and 6 bottles gin before Christmas with the site saying that they would be delivered after Christmas....... however I was very suprised that half my order was delivered 4 days before the specified delivery date even though it was Christmas Eve. And the rest was delivered a couple of days after. So please trust this company. I read so many bad reviews that I thought I may never get anything. I now believe this to be rubbish. Perfect product. Well packed and delivered I very good time.

Whatever you do read all the reviews

Whatever you do, do not use this company before you research carefully all the REAL reviews on them here and elsewhere. Just google Uvinum Reviews. The wine I ordered was substitued and one bottle broken, I had to pay to have wine I never ordered delivered and returned. Their support I think have already claimed independence. Good riddance Spain doesnt need these econ-merce clowns.

A good service and a wide range of products.

I have been buying from uvinum for several years. I find their service good and reliable. Deliveries have always been very prompt. The prices are excellent, as long as you are prepared to buy at least a case and spread out the carriage costs. I also like the fact that their service makes accessible a lot of products, such as the less well known (in the UK) Sherries and Spanish Brandies which I like, but which are not easily obtainable over here.

Drive you to drink

I was told a product was out of stock, I chose another product only to be told that the shipper supplying my order didnt supply it. went back on the website and restricted to the shipper, only to find they did stock it, sent an email to Uvinium to the person I had been dealing with only to here nothing at all just ignored me.

This was not the first time I have had problems with orders, but in the past mainly due to delivery.

AVOID at all costs!!

AVOID at all costs!!! I would give it to no stars! I should have read the reviews before purchasing. They do not have a care about customer service. I wanted to complain about customer service representative and was told that my complain will go to him, there is nobody higher up that he reports to, truely shocking! There are no complain procedure policies in place, it's one clan doing it all. Extremely disappointed. Please take my piece of advice and avoid this company for the sake of your wellbeing. You can get your wines from trusted suppliers in UK who provide quality produce and customer service as well as wine from all over the world.

A good firm to do business with & buy …

A good firm to do business with & buy from, l do find the Univem site a little difficult to find my way through. The dilevery charges vary so much between the various suppliers, but help is always at hand.
The Staff l’ve spoke to speak excellent English & have been very helpful.
