I ordered 12 bottles, on 28th September.
Delivered 4th October, so far so good.
The wine was the wrong wine.
I complained, and asked for them to swap it.
They said that the wine that I had been sent was the latest version of it, which replaced the one I had ordered, so no swap necessary..
As it came from a different bodego, unlikely to be true.
Next they sent me an advert for the wine that I had ordered, so it appeared that it had not actually been replaced replaced?
I asked for the wine to go back.
They then started to make reference to the shop that supplied it, as if this was nothing to do with them. I reminded them that my contract was with them, and so they had to refund me. Their relationship with the shop had nothing to do with me.
They said that they would ask the shop to organise it.
Whilst we were away, in Canada, they turned up to collect it 2 hours after sending me an email saying they were coming to do that. So it was not collected.
When I returned, I asked them to try again.
Nothing happened for a while despite frequent reminders.
At one stage they said that the shop had said that they had tried twice to collect it, but I had decided to keep it, so no refund required. Again just not true.
Finally, on the 1st December they collected it.
I emailed daily to say that I had not received my refund yet.
Eventually, on 28th December they authorised a refund, exactly 3 months after my original order.
I suggested some compensation as a goodwill gesture, given how badly their customer care had been, but perhaps not unexpectedly, they were silent on the matter.
I will never buy from them again, as in particular they do not supply you directly but complicate it by dealing through independent suppliers that they have no control over, and would advise great caution to anybody considering to do so.
