They are scammers

They used to be good, but they are now scammers. I'm an indie software author who has partnered with them for over thirteen years. They recently asked me for a $150 risk screening fee, or they would close my account. I refused to pay it and requested they pay my remaining funds and close my account. They did close my account, but they never paid my remaining funds.

When I asked them about the remaining funds, they lied to me. They said they had paid me already, but I didn't receive the funds. Then, I wanted them to provide proof of their payment, such as the transaction ID. They didn't provide it and said they generated a new payment for me again.

But they lied to me again. I never received the funds. And now they don't reply to my tickets anymore. No paying funds, no proof of payment, no reply. That's how they run their business now. They are scammers.

Edit:
Reply to FastSpring.
Please stop sending canned replies that do not point to the subject. I was talking about how you lied to me twice, saying that you have paid my remaining balance but never actually paid. At the time I am writing this reply, I am still not being paid. I don't care about why you have to ask for the risk screening fee, and I didn't question that. I care about not receiving my remaining balance. You lied to me twice, and then you don't reply to my ticket regarding I'm not getting paid anymore. I have support case number 01450492 regarding this, which was created on Jan 25, 2024, and has been unsolved for nearly two months now. Dare to explain it?

Hi Hong,

We have been listening more closely to our sellers' concerns with our changes with risk screening and aim to do better in future communications. After over 18 years in business, we’ve built up a large number of customers who either use FastSpring as a backup or may maintain their FastSpring account despite only using FastSpring for a small amount of their sales. As the number of such customers have grown over the years, the administrative costs of risk audits have grown quite high, so we decided to introduce this fee.

To clarify more on your comments above, as a payment provider, FastSpring is required to perform ongoing risk assessments on all of our customers in order to comply with various regulations and rules. For customers processing more than $5,000 per year through the FastSpring platform, ongoing risk assessments are free. For customers processing less than $5,000 per year through FastSpring (e.g. using FastSpring as a failover / backup payment solution) there is a $150 per year fee to cover the administrative costs of ongoing risk assessments which isn’t fully covered by FastSpring’s fees for customers processing less than $5,000 per year. If you’d like more information on the fee or have additional concerns, please contact us at support@fastspring.com.

Update: Thanks for sharing more information, and we'll have our team look into your case again and communicate through that support ticket.
