The problem with Etsy customer service is, you have to wait until a specified date before they will provide support ...why is this important?
If sellers cannot be bothered to send an item, or update you on delays, and like my last order I waited over a month for, the seller "StillShelf from Ontario, Canada" did not even bother to reply to my messages.
If you really must order then send a message first to check they are reasonable in communicating!

For a Seller Etsy is a drama. I have a shop for two years now, only 5 stars reviews and I have been Topseller a few months. And than suddenly, out of nowhere there is a new identity check by Persona. After two times the verdict: my selfie does not match my passport, (????) And now.. I am on a forced holiday, everything is on hold and the contact with Etsy is a one-way traffic. I am waiting and waiting. In the meantime I lost my orders, my clients, my money and my trust. It is a nightmare every shop-owner should know: you are just a shop for them. They do not give a *****.

Paid for my books 12 April order#4029945236.Delivery was "sent" 17 April. Nothing was delivered. Followed up with Fedex. Fedex stated that tracking number was wrong and belonged to another client. No delivery. Shop no longer exists. Never ever use this site! I have emails to prove .

Interesting and Creative products/ Bad Buying Experience
The products (rugs) seem beautiful. However, once received, the quality was not quite as expected given the price. Both were delayed in arriving and the sellers had to be contacted to even get this information. Returns were very difficult. You can't even speak with a live customer service rep from Etsy-- only AI. Disappointed overall.

Customer service is really bad. I bought an item that turned out to be faulty just after 30 days. The seller wouldn't communicate with me so I tried to open a case but they said I couldnt because it was after their 30 day buyer protection period. I'm now left with a item that cost me £50 and is useless. Etsys unhelpful solution was for me to claim the amount back from my card provider. Never will I buy from Etsy again. An expensive mistake. Sorry if you're like me and reading all of these bad reviews after your purchase has gone badly.

After placing my order Etsy kept telling me to expect my order Monday. It's Tues now Etsy says expect you're order tomorrow or Friday. Don't have emails claiming something in the mail when it's clearly not. Usually Etsy is very good about this sort of thing but this time. Best avoid this website as too many unreliable sellers and ungoverned processes. I received no confirmation or paper trail of my purchase making it harder to reclaim. Although protected by UK consumer laws, most sellers neither know or care, and it’s a hassle to get a refund through your credit card.

I lost access to my buying account on Etsy. When I FINALLY found out how to contact them, they were WORSE than usless. Every email was from a different person and despite telling them EVERY time that it was my BUYING account I wanted to reopen they kept asking me what items I was SELLING. I gave them every bit of persona information they could possible want and more. The final email they sent me said they were sorry they couldn’t help because I hadn’t given them information on the things I was selling!!!!! CAN THEY NOT READ! Appalling company.
Unfair Account Suspension and No Support After Months of Appeals
I had a very disappointing experience with Etsy regarding my seller account “GlowSparklesCo”.
I was selling personalised handmade items that I created myself, and my shop was suddenly suspended on 25 December 2025. Since then, I have been trying to resolve the issue for over 6 months through their appeal system.
Despite following every instruction given, including:
- Paying all outstanding balances
- Removing any listings that may have violated policies
- Ensuring my shop fully complies with Etsy’s Handmade policy
- Repeatedly appealing and providing detailed explanations
My account has still not been reinstated.
The only explanation I was given is that my account was linked to another shop, but no clear details were provided, and I was not given a proper opportunity to resolve or clarify the situation. Every appeal I submitted was met with the same final response stating that the decision would not be reconsidered.
What is most frustrating is the lack of meaningful communication. My messages have not been properly addressed, and there has been no real support or willingness to review my case in detail. As a small business owner, this has had a serious impact on my ability to sell my products and grow my business.
I understand that platforms need rules and enforcement, but the process feels very one-sided, with no transparency or real path to resolution once an account is flagged.
After months of trying, I am left with no choice but to move away from Etsy and focus on other platforms that provide more fair and responsive support for sellers.
They're stupid
They're racist, stupid, and treat people badly. It's one of the worst services I've ever experienced.
Beware of dealing with them; I'm speaking from personal experience.
Unprofessional support service
I have found the seller support service to be unprofessional and lacking in respect. Specifically, my experiences with Aaqib, Joe, and Irene have been a total disaster. It feels as though they are doing everything in their power to make sellers want to leave the Etsy platform.

Etsy have a really vast and great range of stock. And I have had good communication with the seller. However, the postage is terrible, hence the massive drop in stars. They are using untracked royal mail which is like putting your hands in a lucky dip bag. So all started well until I found out who was delivering the parcel. Yes, we all used to be haters of Evri etc but royal mail have to be the worst mail service right now....
