Never shop any Gap store again

Made an order for 7 pairs of jeans on line 3/28/36. Received the wrong items on 4/13/26. On 4/14/26 I CALLED customer service to reorder and make sure and confirm I ordered the correct items, after being on the phone for 40 minutes placing the order I was told I would receive the order in 5 days. On 4/22/26 I received the wrong items again. On 4/23/26 I called customer service again and while speaking with customer service for 53 minutes I was disconnected so I called back and spoke with another customer service representative for another 22 minutes and was not satisfied with the conversation so I hung up.

I started going to the Gap with my parents in 1969 at the San Francisco store because my parents were friends with Don and Doris Fisher. I will never shop at any Gap owned store again. The worst customer service of any company I’ve ever dealt with.

Rude employee didn't ask once if I…

Rude employee didn't ask once if I needed help for me family. It took my ten minutes to get the employee off her phone to get any help .I had did all my family's back to school shopping at the Gap. Had $2,300 of items. Once I finally recieved help all the employee was worried about is how fast she could get back to her phone messages. She let me know all the clothes were nolonger on sale discount. I told her I never seen the fake sal3s ad and had more than enough to purchase anything they sale. Are shopping day just begun we had several other stores to visit.I will never shop the store again . Most of the clothes was out of date, the service was bad and the store sm3lt like a strong old lady perfume the kind that takes your breath away. It's a CHINA 🇨🇳 owned company. BLACK ROCK INC.

This really is a bad company

This really is a bad company. They have no morality when it comes to working with customers. I've repeatedly had issues with deliveries being made to the wrong address, and being lost. That happened 2 times last week. On the last shipment, they denied my claim, and sent me a report card (not kidding), showing that I had problematic returns, Yes! I have b/c they seem to be unable to deliver to my home. I went as far as to contact the delivery service ahead of the last shipment to ensure I would get the package, that did not work.

After paying my parcel I had to send it back (poor quality)- but I have found out, sending back is possible only on my expenses. This was one month ago, still waiting for my refund!

Knowingly had not shipped items and refused refund

I purchased 5 items on Nov 30. Got an email stating my items would be delayed on Dec 4. I waited as it’s a busy time of year. Nothing arrived and my shipping info status has not changed in one month. I called on Jan 2 and customer services explained that the item had been lost but as I had not called within 30 days I would not receive a refund (not even store credit, which I would have declined). I had no communications from Gap about this since the email about the delay. I had to go through my credit card company to dispute this charge. It’s a complete joke.

GAP is now a total let down

GAP is now a total let down. There is new management and the change is painful. The style and quality of clothing, especially their underwear has gone backwards, while paying more. Highly disappointed, as I have been a customer with GAP for more than 20 years

Loyal customer (Enthusiast level) disappointed by awful chat customer service

Loyal customer here (Enthusiast level), rewards program member and GAP credit card holder. I make high-value purchases at Gap, Gap Factory and Old Navy. I had to reach out to Customer Service via chat. They have either a Virtual Assistant or agents based in India (outsourced Customer Service). They have no email address where they can be contacted. The agents based in India are totally inefficient and act more like bots, copying and pasting canned responses and trying to get rid of you as soon as possible. They say they can't escalate to managers. GAP does not care for their "valued" customers. I will definitely consider taking my business elsewhere, where I feel really valued.

False Advertising - "40% Off" is Actually Only 20% Off

Beware of Gap's deceptive pricing tactics during their current "Holiday Kickoff Event."
I've been watching the Extra Heavyweight French Terry Zip Hoodie for weeks. Last week it was just above $50, which would have been a genuine deal. I hesitated, and now I'm paying the price for it.

The Math Doesn't Add Up:
Gap is currently advertising this hoodie as "40% off" with a strikethrough price of $108, bringing it down to $86. Here's the problem: 40% off $108 should be $64.80, not $86. What they're actually offering is only a 20% discount while advertising it as 40% off. This is textbook false reference pricing.
When I contacted customer service about this, they deflected with vague promotional terms and refused to acknowledge the math is simply wrong. I checked other items on their site and found the same pattern - products marked "40% off" are only discounted 20%, while items marked 20%, 50%, and 60% off calculate correctly.

Gap Has a History of This!!!:
Gap and Banana Republic faced class action lawsuits in 2024 for false reference pricing at their factory outlets. This appears to be a systematic issue with how they mislead consumers about discounts.

Suspicious Timing:
I get that companies love running early black friday deals early nowadays. However, Gap is running this misleading promotion during the current government shutdown, when the FTC complaint system is offline and there's minimal regulatory oversight. Whether coincidental or intentional, consumers currently have limited recourse.

Fake Scarcity Tactics:
Their cart displays a permanent message: "These must-haves won't be around forever." I've monitored this product for weeks - it never comes close to selling out and most sizes remain in stock. This is manufactured urgency to pressure impulse purchases.

Bottom Line:
Don't fall for Gap's false advertising. If you see "40% off," do the math yourself. You're likely only getting 20% off. I refuse to pay $86 for something that should be $64.80, or was genuinely $50+ last week.
Verify every discount percentage before purchasing. Gap is counting on customers not doing the math.

The overwhelming use of poly blend…

The overwhelming use of poly blend material is just not good enough. Cotton and wool natural fibres are best, linen wrinkles are ok. What happened to the great cotton track pants wth metal grommets wth nice thick ties? Why can I never find the stuff the models display? Why do the models look so very unhappy? If this is the social statement, then lower your prices like Walmart and TEMU and drop the pretension.

A go to

Gap has been a go to since i was a child. I am now 40 years old and am happy say i still shop at the Gap. I feel as tho they have gotten better in the last few years with design, listening to the customers wants, and keeping their merchendise budget friendly.
