I've recently bought the Samsung Galaxy S2 9.7
It's a lovely tablet but:
I don't seem to have any control over it. Google wants me to be signed in for everything, which I hate and I can't even use the word packages etc unless I'm signed into Microsoft which is annoying. I bought a microsoft package which I'm supposed to be able to use on 3 machines so why it's controlled on this tablet, I doon't know. I don't like this kind of control so I've downloaded WPS office.
There is no access to a control panel which I always use on my laptop.
There is a bin but as with everything else I've just stumbled across it.
All in all it feels very restrictive and claustraphobic.
It's ok if you want to play games, watch tv, read a book, surf the net or use email but the size of the sceen restricts what you can see in one go, especially in email view and I used to like the spellcheck but haven't found one on email view yet.
If, like me, you use word a lot and like to control your files easily and quickly. Then keep that laptop. When downloading documents, I haven't been given an option to name it what I want or put it where I want. Although I have just stumbled upon a save as once the file is clicked on in file management! A better user manual would have been helpful. I suspect it's been written by someone who knows how to use tablets and thinks everybody else does too!
I have several courses on the go but couldn't imagine how I'd do them on here. I've realised that I certainly couldn't create anything serious on here. It would be too much like hard work. I'm a touch typist and even with this larger screen, I find it impossible to touch type.
It's a bit like walking through treacle using this tablet at the moment.
I'm so glad that I've kept my laptop.
Well I've had this for six months now and nothing has changed. I use memo for small notes but nothing major...
Google Drive doesn't always work. I can't always see what a file is (icon view). If I delete a file from my gallery, it no longer seems to work in Drive(!)
Dropbox seems to be better, so ling as you add files, not share files but far less space space, unless you pay.
Keep that laptop...
