We have been with Sky for 7 years

We have been with Sky for 7 years, and unfortunately, our experience with their internet service has become extremely disappointing. We frequently lose our internet connection and have had ongoing problems with the service.
When we contacted customer service for help, we expected someone to investigate and fix the problem. Instead, the woman we spoke to did not properly answer our questions and kept trying to persuade us to sign a new contract. That was not what we were calling about — we simply wanted our existing internet service to be repaired.
Unfortunately, she did not seem to know how to deal with the problem or what steps to take to resolve it. The level of customer service was extremely poor and very frustrating.

Don’t use Sky as a broadband provider when things go WRONG

Have to give it 1 star as I couldn’t go any lower, anyways ……………

I work from home as a Regional Manager and need internet connection for my computer’s.

Ordered an updated sky internet package, for faster connection ( Fibre broadband) and booked a changeover on the 25th Aug.

Got a message that Sky were unable to attend as booked. Next appointment 11th Sept, I asked Sky to reconnect the old broadband and their answer was no can do, I was like wtf !

So no broadband connectivity for 18 days.

No wonder Sky has such an appalling customer service rating

They really don't value your custom.

They put the price up massively. I tried to downgrade the package to the one they advertise to new customers. No, I can't have that. I've only been with them for 27 years. Talking to a woman in India who didn't have a clue and had to keep putting me on hold whilst she took instructions but wouldn't let me speak to the bloke who was training her. Then she constantly tried to sell me broadband and I warned her that if she did that again I'd put the phone down. Then she wouldn't confirm the deal she offered by email and wanted me to confirm without knowing what it actually was. Then she tried to sell me broadband again. Then I put the phone down.
What an absolute swindle.
Then I tried again using the chat service. Got it for the same price as the woman in India offered and this bloke confirmed in writing on the chat which I screen shotted.
Even this guy tried to con me. Wanted me to sign up to a 2 year deal where they can increase the price by 8% at any time within the deal which would have come to £73 so I agreed a month to month contract at £72.
I only use it because it has a great interface that the wife uses for free to view terrestrial TV so I'm going to explore how I can find a decent interface box that can record etc.
Fed up to the back teeth with this lot of robbers.

I have been with Sky for broadband for…

I have been with Sky for broadband for 1 year and 4 months and currently pay £33 a month for broadband alone.
I telephoned them on 27/05/26 and stated I had been offered £20 a month by another provider. The lady stated she would check if the bill could be reduced. After waiting around for about five minutes she state that she could reduce the bill to £32 a month. This was actually insulting.
Also I never received the £50 retail vouchers that were promised by Sky after signing up and staying with them for Six months.
There Customer Services should be ashamed of their self.
Sky are good at emailing you bills, but won't try to sort out other issues. Very very poor service, stay away.
Just want to sell you extras and no loyalty on their part to reliable customers.

BE WARNED, SKY HAVE AN INTERNAL PROBLEM WITH Q BOX AND SMART TV s
The service received is terrible since getting a Sony Smart TV with loss of picture, SKY technicians have now been out six times and seem unable to resolve, while stating they know of problem with both Sumsang and now Sony. Keep promising compensation for over six problems and so far received nothing after six months of HASSLE
As a long term Sky Customer amazed how they have allowed such a situation to happen

We've been trying to downgrade our package with Sky since October now. The price just keeps creeping up and the service is very poor. Having managed to get hold of someone back in October, we asked for several services to be cancelled and removed, but keep netflix. They totally got this wrong, managed to log us out of all devices and had no access to it since October.

Today, we finally managed to sort this, along with sorting out the TV package, all thanks to Susan, who actually listened to what was needed and went above and beyond to help. We can't think her enough for getting this all sorted and back up and running! A massive thank you!

Avoid, other providers are available

I have been a loyal Sky customer for over 20 years. Over the past 12 months they have treated me as if I must be stupid to have stayed with them for so long, with regular unexplained price increases. I was definitely ripped off recently by a scam artist employed by Sky when I phoned them to ask why they were putting my bill up so regularly. He mis-sold me a broadband contract I hadn't asked for and refused to stop during the same telephone call! So many negative reviews and complaints they are ignoring.

Terrible service and communication!…

I received an email from Sky to come back to them after a year and a half following a house move. I contacted Sky to accept the offer and rejoin sky TV which was an ordeal in itself. As everyone I spoke to said they had no record of the offer, even though I had received the email. After approximately four days I received my new sky Q Box however, the viewing card was not enclosed. I contacted sky and was told that a viewing card would be sent out and I would receive it within 24 to 48 hours. I did not. I contacted them again after three days only to be rudely spoken to and told I should’ve never been informed I would receive it in that timescale as it takes at least eight days to create the chip inside the viewing card. I then waited and time passed the eight days still no viewing card. I contacted sky again only for a member of staff to say they were very sorry but it looks like a viewing card was never re-ordered or dispatched. It is now five days since that phone call and still no viewing card. Absolutely shocking service and will be sending the box back today.

Absolutely rubbish company.

Absolutely rubbish company.
Decided to cancel my sky TV & broadband after 20 years & sent my equipment back via the prepaid box provided by sky. They have contact me twice now threatening to bill me £117 unless I return the equipment even though they'd contacted myself saying that their courier had already pick the package up from my local post office. Luckily id also kept the receipt of proof of postage with the tracking number which they eventually confirmed they had received, however I'm sure if id not kept this as proof they would have gleefully billed me, my daughter also had exactly the same problem with them. Avoid these crooks!!

Charging for equipment that has been returned

I was with Sky TV for over 20 years and I cancelled the contract in December. Only because the contract doubled in price. I returned all the equipment as requested on 28th December 2023 and had confirmation that it was delivered to Sky on 2nd Jan 2024. Since then I have had 3 further requests to return the equipment via text. Each time I've called to confirm that they have the equipment which takes forever on the phone. Today 8th Feb 2024 I've had a letter requesting the return of the equipment or I'm now told I'm going to be charged £72. This is clearly a way of generating revenue. I'm guessing many people just wouldn't spend this amount of time following up and end up getting charged. They have a record of the return on Jan 2nd but still send out return requests. I know the next thing will be a charge for £72.

Sky Customer Services

I've always appreciated Sky Customer Care, I'm afraid that's no longer the case. Today I called customer services for what I thought was a fairly straight forward issue; 2 hours later & after multiple conversations with different operators in the Bulgarian contact centre (s) I've been left totally exasperated, frustrated and exhausted. I don't think it's fair to staff who have a limited understanding of English to be expected to provide these services, as it must be frustrating for them as well, and even though they were trying to help the communication barriers were insurmountable. It was so difficult I'm going to try to find an alternative supplier after being with Sky for 20+ years.
