CHARGER BLEW UP - BUT HAD A REFUND OF MONEY AND GOODS!
NEW COMMENT - LATEST COMMENT TO ADD TO THIS REVIEW:
TO BE FAIR TO THIS COMPANY - NOT ONLY DID THEY REFUND ME THE MONEY FOR THE CHARGER. BUT HAVE NOW ALSO REPLACED MY BATTERY FOR MY SAMSUNG GALAXY S2 THAT WAS DESTROYED BY THEIR CHARGER.
THIS GESTURE HAS AT LEAST NOW PLACED THEM IN A BETTER LIGHT - BUT I WOULD STILL KEEP AWAY FROM THEIR CHEAP CHARGERS! See original Review below:
You will buy from this company at your peril! You have been warned and here is my experience - there is an old saying in the UK when you get a bargain - it is said sometimes to be 'cheap and cheerful' well this was cheap but not cheerful - as it ended being very costly for me.
AND THIS IS WHY . . .
I purchased a charger for my spare Samsung Galaxy S2 19100 battery from the Cellphoneshop UK, the charger was advertised and labelled specifically for use for charging batteries for the Samsung Galaxy S2 19100 and the price was very reasonable, it was advertised at a greatly reduced price with more than £12.00 off the listed price (as part of a clearance sale, which is a label at the top by the header on their site). I receive the charger and put in my EasyACC LI-ION battery for my Samsung Galaxy S2 19100 and the charging light came on so I though great.
But as I walked away after a couple of minutes there was a loud bang! I rushed back into the room and found that the charger was burnt out and it had exploded my battery for my Samsung Galaxy S2 out of the charger! It was laying on the floor with one of the connectors melted. It also blew out the fuses on my extension lead (thankfully nothing else was plugged into the lead) and also thankfully my circuit breakers kicked in protecting my house!
So now I am left with no charger - and a ruined battery for my phone! I am not happy!!
Funnily enough just a few months ago there was a warning about fake or cheap faulty chargers being sold, and this was on 'Watch Dog' on the television - however I thought this was going to be genuine, but I have since seen found out that this battery charger was (according to the labels) imported directly from HONGKONG, with no indication of it being tested before distribution.
I also sent this to the PayPal resolution center and informed the Cellphoneshop UK. Who quickly refunded the money back I had paid for their charger - but this still leaves me way out of pocket with the cost of having to replace the battery for my phone.
NEW COMMENT:
THIS HAS NOW BEEN RECTIFIED AND THE COMPANY HAVE SENT ME A REPLACEMENT BATTERY. SO WE ARE NOW ALL SQUARE!
So they are not all bad - but I would still be wary of dealing with this company - as far as chargers go anyway. Getting a refund and replacement was nice gesture, however I still had a certain amount of hassle to go through.
But thank you 'Cellphoneshop' for dealing with me fairly.
