Design problems increase
Last year I bought a Dell XPS Pro Laptop (for the second time after the first died thru overheating).
The XPS Pro 16 still has the same design problems as my previous 5-year-old one despite reporting the problem (Shutdown and fingerprint reader are the same key). In addition, the keyboard mouse has been dropped and incorporated into the keyboard frame, meaning right-click is now ambiguous with left-click. and the laptop requires an external keyboard to work.
Not good publicity for a firm with a good reputation.
Dell desktop computers have been…
Dell desktop computers have been outstanding for the many years I have owned them. However, the Dell 22 Monitor SE2225HM and likely all their monitors are junk.
This Dell 22 died after 4 months and 12 days. It's cheaply made of plastic and wobbles turning it on and off. But in trying to replace it under your whopping 1 year warranty period, you have to go thru 64 questions, send a photo of the monitor plugged in since they don't believe you anyway and all this aggrevation for a lousy $80 monitor? No thanks. I had a spare Acer just in case, plugged it in and was good - make that better - to go. They have all worked great and lasted several years - not a few months.
dell rewards points disappeared…
I had dell rewards points disappeared from my account called multiple times and they kept transferring me to person after person til I got the same person again who then gave me a disconnected phone number to call very unprofessional and shady .
Disappointing Customer Service – No Response After Three Weeks
I contacted Dell because our nonprofit organization was ready to purchase a new computer and needed to have our tax-exempt status applied to the purchase.
The Dell representative asked me to provide the documentation required to process the tax exemption, and I promptly submitted everything requested. Since then, more than three weeks have passed. Despite several follow-up emails asking for an update, I have received no response and no information about the status of our request.
What makes this particularly frustrating is that we are not even trying to resolve a problem with an existing purchase — we are simply trying to buy a Dell computer.
After more than three weeks of waiting and repeated attempts to get a response, we are now considering purchasing from another manufacturer. This has been an extremely disappointing customer service experience and certainly not what I expected from a company like Dell.

Extremely Poor Dell Customer Service
**Extremely Poor Dell Customer Service**
Very disappointing experience with Dell. My system has been non-functional for **45+ days**, and despite raising the same issue **6 times**, there is still **no clear resolution, no proper clarity, and no firm commitment**.
For weeks, I have received only changing and general updates from the support team. Even after escalation, there is still no clear explanation about the actual reason for the delay or what concrete action is being taken.
As a customer, I cannot keep waiting indefinitely based on uncertain information. **45+ days without a working system and still no clear solution is completely unacceptable.**
Very poor communication, poor ownership, and extremely disappointing after-sales support from Dell.
Terrible support
Terrible support. Every few weeks they make it a little bit worse. Now you need to talk to an AI robot to open the case via chat on the site, or call, and then you will be talking to 3 different layers of AI that will ask you why you are calling for and not understand the issue. When you eventually talk to a human, they can barely open the case, and then will do nothing else. You then have to call again to escalate because you cant even add a simple not in the case, yet you can add attachment, you you can communicate by screenshotting your notepad and sending as jpeg. This is retarded. And once the case is closed, the manages will keep calling youn to give feedback to fill their forms. It s a complete pain if this is what you call Enterprise support , well, good luck. I am not even an end customer, I am partner, with special process to open cases on behalf of end customers. The process is completely broken and nobody cares. This is ridiculous to be honest especially when you know the cost of support contracts.
Profoundly disappointed- Will explore…
Profoundly disappointed- Will explore other options in the future. Have been dell customer since 1999- professional. Bought multiple laptops, docking stations, monitors, etc.
Typical tech support was usually good, informed, competent. If new part required, typically a tech would quickly come on site to repair (motherboard replacement) or part would be sent Fed Ex 2 day service, sending back the replaced part.
June 22,2026, premium tech support diagnosed my dead docking station. He tried to order it and was reject- reason unknown. It had been a refurbished Dell docking station sent October 20, 2025, replaced on warranty. It was still under warranty till July 2026.
I DID NOT RECEIVE THE CURRENT REPLACEMENT DOCKING STATION UNTIL 08/11/2026, ALMOST 2 MONTHS FROM JUNE 22. The time DELL customer service could not figure out what was going on PASSED THE WARRANTY DATE!
I could not get an explanation out of Dell why I was not getting a replacement docking station, starting on June 22, 2026. I persisted, making repeated calls- (premium tech package)- no explanation-left hand and right hand did not communicate.Made it up to Corporate Resolutions desk. They told me NOW the prior docking station was out of warranty AS OF JULY. I pushed back, saying it was due to their not figuring out how to replace it. I ended the call with understanding they had found a new replacement and that it would be covered under the warranty. I just saw my Am Ex and discovered they CHARGED ME FULL PRICE.
Profoundly disgusted with Dell.
My Dell Inspiron laptop is still under…
My Dell Inspiron laptop is still under warranty. So when I had a problem with the battery draining much faster than it should, I contacted Dell Support who told me I would have to send it to them to fix. First, they tried to sell me a different hard drive which had nothing to do with the problem. But even though I would have considered that, I was told my original hard drive would not be returned so I told them to just fix the problem I sent it to them to fix and leave the hard drive alone.
After several weeks and a hassle with FedEx because of Dell's shipping instructions, I finally was able to pick the laptop up. When I turned it on, I was shocked that I was getting a a piercing noise with a white screen that said "there is no hard drive installed" and to shut the computer down. I took the laptop to a computer tech I use. He opened the laptop and, indeed no hard drive was installed. I immediately called and emailed the service advisor I had been dealing with but he did not address that issue, only acknowledging he received my voicemail. But sheer happenstance, while I was at my tech's store, I saw an approximately 1"x4" strip on his work table that looked like what was stapled inside a baggie to a "Post Repair Letter" that came back with my computer from Dell.
I am not a tech savvy person. I had no idea that the little blue strip inside the small ziplock bag stapled to the Post Repair Letter was my hard drive. Once my tech told me what it was, I had to return home to bring it back to my tech's shop for him to install. Why would Dell ever return a computer to a customer without first reinstalling the hard drive???? That’s not how I sent it to Dell!
Once my tech reinstalled the hard drive more problems arose. The touch pad did not work. The touch screen did not work. My PIN did not work. The numeric keys did not work. He was able to fix the touch pad but my PIN still doesn’t allow access and I have had to leave the laptop in his store to work on some more. Apparently, someone at Dell created a conflict between the mother board and the hard drive that is keeping the laptop from recognizing a PIN and it is still not fixed. What the heck did the Dell techs do to my computer? They were only supposed to diagnose and fix the accelerated battery drain that would cause it to power off in less than an hour. Nothing else should have been touched. Instead, Dell's techs changed a bunch of settings and I don’t know if I will get it working again like it used to. In the Post Repair Letter that was sent with the returned laptop, it says: “Replace Cables. We ran full diagnostics on your system to make sure everything was running smoothly before shipping”. How is that possible when I have had all the problems cited above. It will cost me at least $200 to have it put back so it works like it used to and I still don’t know if Dell fixed the problem it was sent to them to fix. I emailed Dell's tech supervisor that I had communicated with about all of these problems but have not received any response.
I'd prefer to give 0 stars
I'd prefer to give 0 stars. I ordered two items and paid extra for faster shipping so they'd arrive on the day i was off work. Days passed and didnt recieve any shipping update. Its now past the delivery date and still says processing. Trying to contact them via phone or online is impossible. Online it sends you to their chatbot that is completely useless and wont connect you to an actual person. Instead it gives you a link that connects right back to the chatbot. Then when you call its impossible to even get through to a human being and when you do its someone from india that clearly does not even try to do their job. Save yourself the trouble and order from literally anywhere else.
Deeply disappointing experience
Deeply disappointing experience - broken promises and poor customer service .....I have been dealing with Dell for months regarding a defective laptop (Inspiron 14 5440). After 2-3 failed home repair visits and a service center that returned my device in worse condition (BitLocker screen, scratch, random shutdowns), I was offered a replacement instead of a refund.
I explicitly requested a full 1-year warranty for the replacement device as a condition of my agreement. This was promised but never delivered. The replacement device (Dell 14 DC14250) came with only the remaining warranty of the old defective device.
Throughout this process I was transferred between multiple departments with no resolution. Every department pointed to another.
I chose Dell because I trusted the brand. That trust is completely gone. I would never recommend Dell to anyone.
I purchased a new gaming computer from…dell
I purchased a new gaming computer from dell in September 2025. In eight months the hdmi and usb-c video out from the motherboard went dark. A technician arrived after a hell of a difficult effort to make them fix a warranty issue. The tech plugged the hdmi into the graphics card video out and to never mind the motherboard video out ports on the motherboard. Okay. Now at the eleventh month of ownership, the graphics card has gone dark. I’m done with dell. About three thousand dollars down the toilet. I will cannibalize.it for the non proprietary parts that will go into my homebuilt pc.
I purchased a battery for my Dell…
I purchased a battery for my Dell laptop on Amazon. The reason why I bought it cause it was inexpensive. Well the performance was not up to par. I should go to Dell and purchase one so that’s what I did when I put the battery in my laptop, it said this is not a genuine Dell battery. I was shocked because I purchased it from Dell when I tried calling in only thing I got was automation they would not adjust the problem. I wanted to know how this occurred no answer. I returned it.
Deceptive marketing & non-existing customer service
I bought two new laptops from Dell.com—one for myself and one for my son heading to college—and traded in an older, high-spec machine. The entire experience has been a masterclass in deceptive marketing, underwhelming hardware, and non-existent customer care.
Dell marketed the trade-in payout as a "Visa debit card." What they conveniently buried in the fine print is that this card is effectively Dell-only store credit with an aggressive six-month expiration date. When I contacted support about this misleading bait-and-switch, they were completely dismissive.
Only after I filed a Better Business Bureau (BBB) complaint did Dell bother to respond—and solely to push the conversation into private email chains to avoid public transparency. Even when I attempted a reasonable compromise by offering to spend the locked balance on a specific keyboard from an existing brand partner, Dell flatly refused, attempting to force me into purchasing unwanted items from their limited inventory.
To top it off, the hardware itself is mediocre. The new machine feels underpowered and overheats during routine tasks as basic as a standard Windows update.
Dell’s trade-in scheme is misleading, their machines run hot and sluggish, and their support operates purely on deflection. Save your money and buy elsewhere.
upside to the laptop is fast acting
upside to the laptop is fast acting, keyboard is smooth with the keys, screen and texts are clear, speed is smooth. no problems
Screen issues since day 1
I have had screen issues since the week that I received my laptop. Screen freezes, has pixel issue, has lines across the screen, sometimes goes black.
This laptop has had the most screen issues I've ever experienced, albeit the most expensive I've purchased.
I bought a top-spec Dell XPS 17
Expensive products that aren't fit for purpose. I bought a top-spec Dell XPS 17, and because they've crammed such powerful components into a slim chassis, it constantly overheats and crashes and slows down to the point that it's unusable, even for simple tasks such as video calls. To spend so much money on a laptop and it then be unable to do things that my ten-year-old laptop can do is just laughable.
Avoid Dell at all cost
I had a laptop Dell 14 Plus for 6 months which showed hardware issues since it arrived. Eventually it got a motherboard replacement (which is a major repair) but that did not solve the issue. Since then technical support has been basically useless and just going round in circles since they have no clue about what the problem might be. As the technical investigation has not resulted in any resolution despite months of cooperation and a major repair, I have decided to exercise my statutory right to withdraw from the contract and request a full refund of the purchase price under German consumer law. This has been obviously denied without any explanation. I do not recommend Dell to anyone! Avoid at all cost!
Don't buy it, just don't ever ever buy dell laptops.
Ewwww, really bad company man, really producing shit laptops, totally making Chinese laptops i bought laptop 2 year ago i first 6 months motherboard gone, another year was full of heinous experiences, Hinge Got Broken, wires got off unexpectedly laptop getting turned off and not turning back on, totally Baddest decision ever to get dell laptop, trust me dell was an company back then with trust but now its totally sucks and destroying peoples lives. Shut down the company if not gonna deliver valuable products.
The most trashy laptop I ever had.
The most trashy laptop I ever had.
I got an XPS laptop from my employer. It wouldn't be my choice, but whatever. It is noteworthy, that it is premium line, with pricing equivalent with Macbook Pro with the same hardware.
I involuntary burned or stripped cables of 3 adapters, which never ever happened in my entire life. But this is just beginning.
The laptop never got a working touchpad, I never managed to get it running, then screen started to blink, unfortunately, it was just when the guarantee run off.
Overall quality and support of the laptop is absolute crap, it is a lot of plastic with wannabe luxurious, with many features that don't work on linux users who don't want to go through lobotomy of Microsoft Windows 11.
Speakers used to be good as long as I remember in previous models which my friend had - which is no longer true. The same holds for cam and microphone.
So while their laptops used to be good, the enshitification completely destroyed them to a fragile toy.
Lastly, the laptop's dying features and problems forced me to swtich back to my 10 year old functioning laptop.
I luckily have a comparison with Macbook AIR, which is 100x better.
