Don't entertain this company

We had a salesman come to quote for a bath lift. We saw this product in a TV listings magazine with no price mentioned (first caution !) Thinking this company were the sole manufacturers and suppliers of this product I stupidly did not do my usual internet search for alternative suppliers. The salesman quoted £2.400 pounds. This wasnt acceptable so he then immediately dropped the price to £1,950 on offer for that day only .I asked him if I didn't accept the lower price how much would it be the following day he said £4,000 ! (second caution PRESSURE SELLING !)
Mistakingly thinking I couldn't get this product elswhere I stupidly accepted the lower figure then the day after I had signed the contract looked at several other suppliers, including Amazon selling the same bath lift direct to the public, some for less than £800. I could have bought one on- line myself then have a local bathroom fitter install it or even installed it myself for a fraction of the cost. Be warned PLEASE DON'T LET THIS COMPANY HAVE YOUR BUSINESS !

Where do I start

Where do I start. Got rep round to design. Good. He used to be an installer, so hopefully he knew what he was doing. Had to wait weeks for surveyor to come who said "you can't have that, it can't be installed". Not happy with what happened next. Rang their head office and was told "it IS subject to survey". Took umbridge at being told "then your sales rep shouldn't boast about their past installation ability" (although should always be aware anything commission only sales reps say is probably fiction!) End result was case handler would be assigned to deal with things going forwards, get another surveyor round to review the plans ASAP and find out why what I wanted could not be installed? Never heard from "case handler" was told "she's out of the office". So Friday, next day at 5pm, I cancelled the order, explaining to area sales person who gave me this offer, that having spoken to him to air all my gripes I'm dissapointed nobody ever contacted me and here I am chasing you at 5pm on Friday. "You had your chance to prove yourself and blew it. How many more chances do you need to prove you can do what you told me you could do at the beginning?" (A fair point they considered! Couldn't really argue with that!)

Sunday evening got phone call call from sales rep who set up the entire cock-up. Still pleading his case that a deal was in place, finance agreed so could turn this around. Really, as I pointed out, this smacks of a sales rep on commission desperate to keep a sale. "I have cancelled the order! End of story! Be told!" The end result when asked "Do you consider yourself a good judge of character?" (Yes I do actually! Big mistake for cocky little sales rep to try this way back in). "Past experience has taught me if I gave someone another chance in a situation like this, it always proved I was wrong to change my decision. If I gave you another chance and you messed up I would kick myself for doing so against my better judgement and I MIGHT also think you'd done a bad job on purpose. We can continue this conversation all night. My decision will still be no!" I also said "and in future don't boast about your technical past when you are selling".

The icing on the cake here was going back to the "local office" in Home Base Winchester to let them know "what happened next"after their introduction. They were a bit shocked ut I was just glad I had not spent my money!

To be avoided at all costs.

Quite simply, overpriced, lacks quality, all with a service that would be more at home in the dark ages. Imagine being mugged and all your money stolen and you've been left with nothing, and you've just had the Dolphin experience.
