Do not buy Nardi

I rent an apartment with a Nardi oven, cooktop, dishwasher, microwave and refrigerator. The fridge and oven are okay. I have to fiddle around with the microwave timer to get it to set right and the coating on the inside of the door is peeling. The control for one of the cooktop burners has to be turned just right or it won’t work. The dishwasher is totally unreliable. It might turn on or it might not. The door is deadweight - it has no hydraulics. I’ve had repairmen “fix” it 5 times in 3 years. I will not buy Nardi appliances - ever! I’ve never had trouble like this with appliances before. I owned my own home for 20 years and in that time only needed repairs once for a dishwasher.

How does it work

I have rented an apartment with a Nardi oven, and it seems you have to be a space cadet to be able to work it. All attempts at trying to find an English user manual on line have been unsuccessful.

Nardi Appliances Australia

I am a retailer with 12 outlets across VIC and NSW and I found Nardi to be a fresh supplier to the market. We are out selling other brands because their cost structure and that they are a genuine Italian brand. They have a small team that deals instantly with me and I am able to sort supply chain queries out on the spot or by email in minutes.
The reviews here don't seem to reflect the global business, and definitely not the Australian supplier in NSW as they have only been exceptional in my case.

Annoyed!

Ordered a Nardi oven at end of October 2011 and still not received! Waited 3 weeks and heard nothing so called them only to be told that the model I had ordered was discontinued (it is still advertised as in stock on their website even today!!). Admitted that they had forgotten to contact me to inform me of this. I agreed to accept an alternative which they told me they would have to order in. At the time I was happy to wait a few extra weeks as I am having difficulty finding an oven that will fit the small built-in space I have in my kitchen. Waited until after christmas but still heard nothing regarding the alternative. Have tried to phone numerous times but calls are not answered and they have no answering machine. Emails have not been answered either. I want to cancel my order but cannot even do that if they do not contact their customers! I have paid £269 in full in October and I want my money back. I thankfully paid by credit card and will be contacting my credit card provider to try to get my payment refunded. I would advise anyone to think twice before purchasing from this company.

Buyer beware

Before Christmas, I ordered a door seal and new knobs for my Nardi oven. Door seal arrived prompty, but had email from Ken Griffin to say the knobs were on back order with Nardi and would likely arrive in the New Year.
They have still not arrived and despite numerous emails and phone calls, nothing. My money has not been refunded either. I am now contacting Derbyshire Trading Standards.
I wish I had visited this site before making my original purchase.

Me too

im in the same boat, with a fridge paid for two months ago. All I can say is if you bought it on a credit card, you will be able to claim a refund from the credit card company under s75 consumer credit act. In a way, I feel bad doing this, cos it's not their fault that nardi obviously have no morals, but I can't afford to just lose that amount of money.

Nardi Fridge Freezer

I have bought and paid for in full a Nardi Fridge Freezer from this company and have still not received it. I have tried on several occassions to phone them on landline number , mobile and email them and no-one has ever answered the phone or emailed me back.
I am now really concerned afer reading some of the reviews below that it looks unlikely that anyone will email me or that my appliance will arrive.
I am in desperate need for it as I have a 6 month old baby and I am struggling to keep his food fresh.
As i trusted this company they advised me that the only way they would take our old appliance away if it was fully defrosted which I have done and has been waiting in the garden outside to be taken.

With anyone that has had a reponse from the company or have managed to get a hold of someone to speak to i would be very grateful if you could offer any assistance as to how you managed this as i just want my appliance

If anyone can prove me to be wrong then I would be happy to retract my review

Be aware

We have contacted Nardi in Italy direct about our problem with an oven purchased from Nardi Appliances and Ken Griffin; their reply is important, "We firstly would like to clarify that Mr. Ken Griffin has nothing to do with our company, as he is an independent retailer of our products and he is buying them from somebody else, not us. He is not our direct distributor/retailer."
Suggest you pursue Ken Griffin via Trading Standards Derbyshire as we will do, and in the meantime contact Nardi Italy direct through their website for your problems. And thanks, Han-Kemp for the advice about Trading Standards.

Ken is still trading on eBay.

I have a case open against him with Trading Standards.

Luckily it looks like i will get my money returned through my credit card company.

Poor service

After 3 weeks, I don't have my order, the company has not answered my e-mails and they are not answering their phone. I question if this is a legitimate company.

Appalling Communication

The goods I ordered were listed as available for immediate despatch. After not receiving my order for a week I attempted to contact the company by phone and emailed twice but received no reply to either. The order eventually arrived two weeks late but considering the lack of communication and that the order was despatched late and funds were taken out of my account as soon as the order had been placed rather than when despatched I would be extremely hesitant at using this company again.

Promt service

Ordered new oven seal, which arrived the next day. Very easy to fit - found the website easy to use and the product description spot on. Will use again and happy with the purchase.

Great service

The day after I placed my order online I received a call to say I had ordered the wrong item. Ken explained what I did need and how to fit it. He couldn't have been more helpful and the part arrived within 3 days. Great service, thanks.

FAULTY DAMAGED GOODS,SHODDY COMPANY!

Nardi appliances are the worst company i have ever dealt with, Ken Griffin is fine at replying to e-mails & phone calls before he has your money, but once the sale has been completed he just chooses to ignore any issues you have with the service or the goods. We waited weeks after paying to receive our fridge freezer & paid extra for our old one to be removed, the wrong model was sent without a receipt or any warranty papers, after just one hour of receiving the item we rang to complain & was told by Ken that it is too late to exchange as the fridge had been used.Since during the last 3 months the fridge has fallen apart,is over condensating & sending everything including the actual fridge itself mouldy. This has been a real issue for me as i have been pregnant throughout this & dare not risk any foods that may be turning bad so we are throwing good food away as the fridge is not keeping it fresh! We have sent letters, phone calls, used consumer direct & even a solicitor & yet to no avail,We are stuck with a useless faulty fridge that does not fit the space it was intended for as doors open the wrong way & we paid £600 for the privilage. We advise all potential customers to avoid this website & company like the plague. We are truly upset & very angry as we had saved hard to buy this fridge freezer & are now left with a useless piece of metal not fit for its purpose. This is all thanks to the very devious Ken griffin!!!!

Incompetent

Nardi are cheap but they underline the saying you get what you pay for. In their case appalling service.
Had to chase 3 times for delivery on an item supposedly "In Stock".
Paid for delivery, unpacking and sertting up - Range cooker left outside my house on a pallet! One man delivery team.
Offer from Ken was £25 for my hassle - oh and that was his one and final offer.
Totally useless at keeping the customer informed and then happy to wash his hands of the problem.
Pay that little bit more elsewhere and get it cheaper in the long run.
