Lied about delivery time, which continued for a week. Finally today they told me it had been delivered, just couldn't tell me where it had been delivered. Requested refund, not to worry, I'll never... See more

Customer service via chat and phone are…
Customer service via chat and phone are the most condescending, non-helpful, ignorant and non-English speaking people I have yet to encounter. Cannot get anyone to answer as to why a return order that has been processed has not been picked up for 3 days after the initial set up date. HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!
an office chair of a $250 investment
an office chair of a $250 investment, almost worthless after just 1 year of use. Seat material worn through with very little actual use. Sale prices mean zip, when quality is so low.
Office Depot Lacks Accountability for Its Mistakes
I spent days driving around to stores trying to find the perfect office chair and settled on a Serta, but none had the color I wanted (beige). I placed an online order 07/07/2026 and received the chair in a box marked beige on 07/15/2026. It had obviously been opened and retaped poorly, arriving partially split open. The chair turned out to be in good condition, but it was charcoal gray. I called immediately for a return and replacement request, spending 20+ minutes on the call with a rep I could barely understand. He promised I'd receive an email within 24-48 hours from a resolution team (to perhaps discuss this matter further?) before confirming the courier pick-up date and that he reordered the correct color for me. He issued a reference number. I waited four days (96 hours) with no email or other contact received. I phoned and was told the ref # only showed that I placed a call. NO notes, no refund, no return request and no reorder was documented so time has been wasting while I attempt to work without a proper chair. The rep said I wouldn't be refunded until it arrived back at their warehouse in Georgia (opposite US Coast from me) and then not for an additional 7-10 business days. She said I would have to reorder the correct color and PAY AGAIN to get new shipping in motion (while waiting for the unknown refund date). Alternatively, I could wait out the entire refund process to take place over the next two+ weeks, and then reorder (at which time I'll note this chair will no longer be on sale). This is totally unacceptable when it is Office Depot's mistake in sending me the wrong product. The chair parts were not even wrapped in new plastic as one would expect--just old brown paper with copious pieces of tape all over the torn edges from a prior customer's unboxing. For all I know some assembly parts could be missing due to no fault of my own, and they might not agree to refund me. I should not have to pay double to get the right chair sent. I just wanted an immediate exchange--not a refund anyway. I escalated this matter to a supervisor who was sympathetic and polite but who had ZERO negotiating power to correct this or meet any of my requests even halfway. "We do not have a replacement program" I was told. During the many times I was placed on hold between these three representatives over two different call dates, I read online reviews of the store only to learn they were absolutely abysmal with mostly one stars. In the end, I was given contradicting info: the website says I can make online order returns in ANY store. Two reps told me no, not the case. One store employee also told me no when I called to ask if that was possible before I even ordered the chair online. Now, the supervisor tells me I CAN return this chair in store, but for the fact they already created a return ticket. In that case, they cannot as the return is already in process--and yet the resolution team won't see the request for a couple of days, so I can try. I told him I will drive 45 minutes out of my way to the closest Office Depot to learn the truth and hopefully hand the chair to a physical person in an effort to expedite the return (since they only allow 14 days for return anyway, and time is swiftly passing). It remains to be seen whether this will work but at least I'll have quicker confirmation in order to get the next chair in motion. If I could buy this chair from ANY other store, I would instantly. I will never purchase from Office Depot again. I cannot believe they would make me pay double on my credit card and rely on MY good faith to trust that 1) they will refund me timely and appropriately and 2) the next chair will arrive timely in good condition and in the correct color. Worst customer service I have ever encountered. AVOID.
Total Incompetence and a waste of time
I bought several items at the Annapolis Office Depot today and had a very bad experience. When I placed the online order, which included two large foam boards, I used a discount that gave me 25% off. That discount was for signing up for communications from Office Depot. The receipt properly credited the discount against the total, but there were two problems. First, when I arrived to pick up the order, the two foam boards they had set aside for me to pick up were damaged beyond usefulness. The damage was obvious on both boards as the corners were bent in and there was other damage to both boards from mishandling. I was directed to the area where the foam boards were stocked in the store and found that the entire inventory of that size was damaged. As I was working on a project that needed to be final by Monday, I looked for other sizes to find a foam board that I could use. I did find a tri-panel foam board and realized I would have to buy it and try to adapt it into a solid piece. It was not what I needed or wanted but I took it. The cashier rang it up but would not give me the 25% discount that had applied to the original order. I asked to speak to the manager, and after 10 or 15 minutes of discussion, they finally agreed to give me the discount. The second issue was that the receipt for the original order contained a very large and prominent coupon: "You have an exclusive offer attached to your order. $10 OFF $30 from your qualifying regularly priced purchase. Valid to use today at pickup or on your next visit. . ." When I saw this on my computer I clicked on the coupon looking for any further information or a code that I could take with me. Nothing appeared and reading the Terms for use of the coupon, it did not set out any information that would somehow exclude use of the coupon. So I printed it out and took it with me to the store and bought additional items that totaled far more than the $35 required for use of the code. When I gave them the copy of the coupon at the register, they said that it could not be used without the electronic code that they said should accompany the printed copy of the receipt that accompanied the coupon. I indicated that I had clicked on the coupon when I saw it, expecting an electronic code or something else to take with me to claim the discount, but nothing appeared. The manager, Frank Stewart, said sorry, nothing he could do without the electronic code that would have appeared if I had clicked on the coupon when it appeared on the receipt on my computer. I told him that I had clicked on the coupon and no electronic code appeared. He told me that if he could see the coupon on a computer or on my phone, he would give me the $10. I explained that I didn't bring my computer or phone with me and he said that there was nothing he could do. I asked him to confirm that if I drove home, retrieved my phone, and returned to the store to show him the coupon, would he refund the $10. He said he would. I spent a good bit of time driving home, getting my phone and returning to the store. When I got there, I gave the phone, opened to the receipt and coupon and she clicked on the coupon and nothing happened. Then she said sorry, nothing we can do. I asked again to speak to the manager and reminded him that he assured me that if I went home to get my phone and presented the receipt with the coupon, he would refund $10. He took the phone and clicked on the coupon and nothing happened. Then he said that he could not refund the $10. I objected and asked if remembered that he had told me that if I drove home and brought back my phone, he would refund the $10. Then he and the woman at the register took another 10 minutes to figure out how to give me $10, and finally did something like give me a refund on another item I had bought, giving me $10 and some change. This whole thing wasted a huge amount of my time. I will never go into one of your stores again, and my next stop will be to write bad reviews about Office Depot on every forum I can find. You all are crooks.
Disappointed customer service
Disappointed customer service. Went onlline to find a store that carried the double roll raffle tickets. I first went to the store at 14929 Rivergate in PWY, Charlotte, NC. The Associates was not helpful at all. When I became persistant in asking her to check another store that would have the product, she gave me the store 10025 East Independence BLVD, which showed 6 In Stock. I hoped in an Uber and headed 30 minutes away, costing me $30.00 there and $30.00 back only for the store not to have the product. It is extremly frustrating and bad business to have an item on your website as being in stock only to get there and there are none, and the sales associate stated that there had not been any for a while. Clearly your website inventory is out of date. Not to mention the the money I spent to get to these places. Unacceptable Customer Service!!
I waited 30 min in line
I waited 30 min in line to get a picture copies and when I asked how much longer the response I got was however long it takes. Very rude lady at the SW Military Dr Store in San Antonio. I’ll never go back.
Horrible store
Good morning,
This is in regards to the store in Spring, TX located on I45 North near Cypresswood Drive.
The service there is absolutely horrible. The red-haired manager is one of the rudest people that I have ever encountered in a place of business. The print department will not give you the time of day if you do not want to join some select program to the tune of $50. When I asked to speak to the manager, Teresa came and was just as dismissive and rude to me when I would not purchase that membership. I will drive further to shop at the store in Humble where I am treated with respect and not pressured into purchasing memberships. There is a right way and a wrong way to sell memberships and Teresa's store does it wrong by promising to give you your printing free and on the spot only if you purchase the membership as well as telling me that I'll still have my $50 of free printing to use at a later time. Having the membership should not make me any more important than someone who does not purchase the membership and definitely should not be the reason that one is treated with quality customer service. Every customer should be treated with dignity and respect whether they are a select member or not. If I purchase a membership, it will be at the store in Humble. I will never set foot in the Spring location again even though it is much closer to where I live.
No Communication
For a week, I have been trying to complete a small printing order. The website is a nightmare. I talked with a total of four agents. Their training and customer service are almost worthless.
I have never had such poor interaction with these issues.
Keith at the Boardman Ohio store
Keith at the Boardman Ohio store was so helpful! My husband and I were having trouble printing invitation on the self service copier/printer. After the 2nd time being in to the store for the same thing ( and I still didn't have it right) Keith jumped right in to help. It even took a few minutes past closing to get everything squared away, but he did it and never made us feel like a bother. Thank you for all your help!
I placed a large online order which…
I placed a large online order which included a 4 pack of printer ink. Everything looked like it was just drop kicked into the shipping box. The outer shipping box arrived in perfect condition but my $96 box of ink looked like it had been ran over by a truck. I submitted photos. They are sending a driver to pickup my damaged product in 3 days, then AFTER they receive it back, I’ll get my $96 back but it’ll take up to 7 days. The audacity of them to ask me to go out and buy packing supplies to properly package it to return was it for me. I also believe they sent this to me obviously because they knew they couldn’t sell it in the store in that condition. I’ll never shop here again. We have a business so we shopped here a lot both in store and online. I’ll pay double somewhere else just to avoid them in the future.
incredible experience
I had an incredible experience with the Office Depot in Orland Park, IL. The local store staff went above and beyond, but what really blew me away was the regional manager, Shaun who stepped in personally to work out some fantastic deals for me on things the local store standardly isn't authorized to do. It is rare to see regional leadership so hands-on and dedicated to customer satisfaction. Huge thanks to the Orland Park team and Shaun for making this happen—they have earned a customer for life
This Company Needs To Shut Down
Once again, total disgust w this pathetic company. I'd bought a new laptop after Hurricane Milton at Office Depot, which turned out to be a painful experience, the incompetence and dismissive attitude of the manager you wanted to slap him. Today I lost my charger and surprise.jh
I have been a customer of Office Depot…
I have been a customer of Office Depot for over 20 years, but the customer service over the past eight years has been consistently terrible. Giving them another chance was a mistake.
In February, I placed a $230 order that I never received, yet my card was charged in full. When I contacted customer service to request a refund, I was told the issue was handled. It wasn’t. The invoice still shows the order as “out for delivery.”
I called again and was informed that the previous representative never documented anything—not even the confirmation number they gave me. This level of incompetence and lack of accountability is unacceptable.
Office Depot has completely gone downhill. After this experience, I will never use this company again.
Oh, I forgot to add I called and the one representative hung up on me.

I ordered a box of paper for our office. Like I have done dozens of times over the past 6 years of employment at this particular business. They decided to use Fed Ex and 3 times I get a call from an India help Desk saying our address is invalid. Been here 15 years. When they use a local carrier, no problems. All CSR's are India based too. I cancelled all orders and ordered from Amazon with no problem.

I would give this company a negative…
I would give this company a negative zero if that were an option! I order an HP Printer after getting a suggestion from a chat agent. Once I received the printer it was Not WIFI Capable and it doesn’t double print. I was on chat daily for a week and after 5 DAYS I’m called and informed my REFUND WAS CANCELLED!!
Refusal to ship or cancel, non existent customer service
On Feb 4th I placed an order for a fabric shaver. There was a specific brand that I wanted, and Amazon was sold out so I thought I would give Office Depot a try. When I placed the order, the estimated delivery date was 02/10. The weekend came and went with no shipping notification, and so I reached out via online chat on 02/10 to get an order update. The "virtual assistant" opened a case for me and "escalated it", meaning I go NO answer and I had to wait for someone to email me. I got a very generic form email back saying they were reaching out to the supplier. This goes on for several days (same email over and over again), so I finally call them. Per the other reviews, the call was VERY difficult due to a major language barrier and I explained that I would like to cancel and they said they cannot cancel, but they can put in a request to cancel. Then I got hung up on. So, I also put in a chat request to cancel. So far, I have received two emails saying they have contacted the outside vendor requesting to cancel, but they will not cancel my order, despite it being two weeks with no shipment. Absolutely RIDICULOUS customer service. Worst I think I have ever encountered.
Do not order anything from them online
Do not order anything from them online. Should it arrive damaged, or for any reason needs to be returned, it is not an option. I ordered a keyboard for a Microsoft Surface - my husband already purchased the keyboard so I didn't need it. They will not let me return it unless i go to a store location. Obviously they have very few locations and none near my home or office. No online return option.
Adding to this review. I tried again to contact someone about a return option. Received several emails that they cannot because the product comes from a third party vendor who is not reachable to issue a return. I’m lucky it wasn’t a laptop or something really expensive. Very strange experience but hopefully this will save anyone from placing orders with Office Depot.
Blatantly false advertising, abysmal customer service
Office Depot’s website flat-out lies about returns, claiming online purchases can be returned in store when staff routinely refuse and send customers away. I wasted hours, including a two-hour call, was dumped on an unresponsive contractor (Veyer), and even had a $10 Visa gift card never delivered. Countless other customers report the same thing online—this is deceptive, systemic, and designed to falsely signal easy returns.
