Myths about metal roofing and metal roofing costs

Metal roofing is shrouded with a variety of rumors. The myths are varied and colorful and range from everywhere between Roofing Materials and metal roofing costs. Experts will say that most of these rumors that you come across are baseless. There are benefits to metal roofing and these we will come to know about once we talk about the metal roofing material myths.

 Myth 1: People say that metal roofing materials are much more prone to getting struck by lightning. Actually that is so not true. Metal is a non combustible material and thus there is no chance for your roof to catch fire.

 Myth 2: Metal roof make a lot of noise when there is rain. This myth has probably originated due to old grandma’s tales about rusty corrugated metal roofs. Modern metal roofing materials are far from that and will not make such ear bursting sound when it rains. Today metal roofs are installed over solid sheathing due to which metal roofs make no more noise than ordinary asphalt shingle roofs.

 Myth 3: Many are of the opinion that Metal Roofing Costs a lot of money. Well thi is not really untrue but if you think about it in the long term, metal roofs are going to last much longer than any other. Metal roofing is the best bet when it comes to remodeling your house.

 Myth 4: No, metal roofing materials are not prone to rust and corrosion. Metal roof are built to last decades. The steel metal roofing contains a metal coating which is a protective layer that is made up of either aluminum or zinc.

 Myth 5: Metal roofs are susceptible to dents. Absolutely not. Years of abuse either by you or by the weather will be sustained by your metal roof.
