Beware of Online Orders from Saks Fifth Avenue

Do not order online items from Saks Fifth Avenue if there's any chance you might have to return it. Due to my busy schedule I have done all of my shopping with a variety of designers online for decades and I have never been faced with such an unjustified, unethical handling of, what should have been, a simple return process. SFA recently exited Chapter 11 bankruptcy in June and it is the only plausible reason why they would not refund a gown I ordered. (SFA have cut their debt by roughly 75% during the restructuring process.). First I was told the dress didn't have tags (even though there was a huge, tag on the outside of the dress), and then that there were stains on it. After three phone calls and photos of the dress sent to "supervisors" it was agreed that there were no stains and that tags could, of course, be replaced. Once it was agreed there were no stains and that the paper tags could be replaced, however, I was then told that an "odor" had been detected on the dress. Yes! Even though I never wore the dress and I'm a germaphobe, extremely clean person. This was an outright lie. I'm furious with the down-right unethical, thievery of this situation and will take the gown to a Saks Fifth Avenue store next weekend so that someone can personally smell it. This is so unfair. Shame on Saks for lying and not handling a simple return process in a reasonable manner. I will never again shop at Saks Fifth Avenue.

Ordered a Ferragamo handbag

Ordered a Ferragamo handbag. Arrived poorly packaged wrapped in tissue paper - no dust bag. Bag was scuffed as well. Clearly it had been purchased and return at least twice because of plastic tags attached at different points. Unfortunately this bag is no longer in stock in this color, so no replacement was available in this color. They would not price match another similar bag because the price increased after this color was discontinued. Very disappointing experience - definitely not a luxury retailer. Will never order from them again.

Stay away from this company

Stay away from this company. Take your business to Nordstrom. This company will mail you incorrect size item and then act like there is nothing they can do about it and refuse to provide a return label. When you call the customer service, they are so rude. I am not sure where saks is getting their employees but I guess they just get them off the street without any decent qualifications. What a disappointment.

I placed an order online with Saks…

I placed an order online with Saks Fifth Avenue, but unfortunately, I never received my purchase\. When I contacted customer service to request a refund, my request was denied because the carrier marked the package as delivered\.

I explained the situation and provided photos of my front door to show that the package was not delivered to my location\. I also made them aware that it may have been delivered to the wrong address\. Despite providing this information and repeatedly following up, Saks Fifth Avenue continued to deny my refund request\.

I am extremely disappointed with how this situation was handled\. I expected better customer service and accountability from a company of this caliber\. I would strongly encourage Saks Fifth Avenue to investigate delivery issues more thoroughly and provide customers with a fair resolution when an order is not actually received.

Long time customer never to return

Extremely disappointing return experience with Saks. I ordered the same dress in two sizes, tried on only one, and never even removed the second from its original packaging. I returned both, only to have Saks reject the return because of nearly identical markings near the seams/darts and back zipper on BOTH dresses.

The fact that an unopened dress has the exact same markings should make it obvious that these are fabric or manufacturing defects, not damage caused by me.

I’ve now spoken with three Saks customer service representatives who all understood why I was disputing the rejection. Yet Saks provides no way to speak with anyone at the distribution center actually making these decisions. I’ve submitted photos and repeatedly asked for reconsideration, only to be told the items do not meet the return policy because they were not returned in their “original, unused condition.”

How could I have caused damage to a dress I never even removed from its packaging?

After multiple attempts to resolve this directly, I’m now being forced to dispute the purchase through PayPal. For a retailer at this price point, I expected much better customer service and a reasonable process for addressing an obviously questionable return rejection.

Saks sent me a damaged item and then…

Saks sent me a damaged item and then refused to take responsibility for it.

The item arrived missing a button, and I returned it for that exact reason. Their own records showed “RETURN-MISSING_PARTS,” but instead of simply refunding me, Saks rejected the return and later started giving different explanations about the condition of the item.

When I disputed the charge, Saks kept coming up with new claims instead of directly addressing the evidence I provided. Some of those claims were completely inconsistent with what actually happened.

The whole experience made me feel like Saks knew they had the advantage in the dispute process and had no reason to seriously address my side. I did nothing wrong here. I received a damaged item, returned it, and somehow ended up being treated like I was the problem.

I will not buy anything from Saks again.

The worst customer service

The worst customer service. I will Never Order online from Saks. The customer service needs profession training. I’m still waiting for a supervisor to call me back. It has been 6 days. Terrible

Sent 1 of 4, denied refund

Saks was supposed to send me a set of 4 placemats, but they sent only one piece and then refused to refund the missing three, repeatedly insisting that all four were shipped.

The evidence makes that impossible. One placemat weighs about 0.9 lb, meaning four alone would weigh at least 3.6 lb before any packaging. Yet FedEx recorded the entire package at only 2.1 lb.

So either 1) three placemats somehow disappeared during Saks’ packing process,

or 2) the employees handling claims cannot do basic arithmetic. Either way, Saks clearly needs better employee oversight and training.

Extremely Disappointing Saks Fifth Avenue Experience — Misdelivered Christian Louboutin Order and Unacceptable Customer Service

I am extremely disappointed with my recent experience with Saks Fifth Avenue. I ordered a pair of Christian Louboutin shoes on August 5. On August 11, I received an email stating that the order had been delivered and left at my front door. However, the package was not at my front door, on my property, or anywhere around my neighbors’ properties.

August 12 — First call to Saks:
I contacted Customer Service and explained that I had not received the package. I asked whether there was a delivery photo or other proof of delivery. The representative told me there was no delivery photo available. He opened a case and instructed me to call back after the promised delivery date of August 14.

August 13 — Second call to Saks:
I called again and explained that I had thoroughly searched my property and the surrounding area. During this call, the representative confirmed that the package had been delivered to the wrong address. She could not provide the full address for privacy reasons, but she confirmed that the ZIP code associated with the delivery was different from mine. Again, I was instructed to call back after August 14 so that an investigation could be initiated.

August 15 — Third call to Saks:
I called as instructed and requested a refund because I had not received the merchandise and Saks had already confirmed that it was delivered to the wrong address.

Instead of resolving the matter, the representative told me I needed to take a photograph of my front door and email it to Saks. This was a new requirement that had never been communicated during either of my previous calls. When I pointed this out and asked to speak with a supervisor, the representative hung up on me.

This is extremely disappointing. I purchased the merchandise from Saks. Saks selected and retained the carrier responsible for delivering my purchase. I reported the non-delivery, followed the instructions provided by Saks representatives, and was subsequently told by Saks that the package had been delivered to an incorrect address and a different ZIP code.

Delivery mistakes can happen. What I find unacceptable is how Saks handled the situation after being notified. The most troubling part is that I contacted Saks three times, followed the instructions I was given, and then on the third call was given a new requirement that the first two representatives never mentioned—followed by my request to speak with a supervisor ending in the representative hanging up on me.

I understand that delivery errors can occur. How a company responds when a customer reports a delivery error is a choice. In this situation, Saks did not provide the level of accountability, communication, or customer care I expected from a luxury retailer.

My item was lost in transit after my delivery date being changed more than one time. After almost two weeks of waiting, the customer service rep informed me that my package was lost. I would need to pay for another order if i wanted the item, and then they could request a refund on the initial order. Terrible way of doing business. 0/10 experience.

Never ordering from this company again

Never ordering from this company again. Paid for expedited shipping with a delivery date on the 12th. Item never shipped, and customer service wouldn't give me a refund for the extra shipping costs. Instead, without my consent, they just cancelled the order. Have the screenshots and will be taking this to someone who can actually help.

Never received my $400 dress

Never received my $400 dress. Customer service did nothing to help. Would not contact the vendor, nor FeeEx. Told me to give it more time. It’s been 2 weeks! I made multiple calls and they finally just refunded me. But the item is sold out so I can’t get another one. They were rude and awful. Calling out the supervisor, Wayne because he was so rude. Do better, Saks! Nordstrom would never!!

The online order is terrible!

The online order is terrible, no wonder they are in bankrupcy, no accountability for customer service,
I am not shocked by how many one star reviews they have. one item missing for weeks , another keeps saying they will deliver and its been 21 days. Representatives were nice, but completely unhelpful. For a high end store, I suggest you purchase in person and I will not use their online store ever again.

Terrible customer service! Not honest!

Saks fifth Ave has terrible customer service. They're the only online retailer that I ever had a problem with. A while back they didn't give me credit for a dress because they said it was not in the box when they received it! Over the years I had other return issues too. I had clothing that came dirty, missing belts.... They told me they will credit the return shipping but that only happened after numerous phone calls that took a half hour to an hour.
This week I had a very disturbing incident. I returned a few items. One of the dresses I returned I had reordered because it went on sale. A week later, I received a delivery with the dress that I returned. There was a paper inside that said they can't credit me because there was supposed to be another tag on the dress that was not on with my return. I sent the dress back exactly as I received it. There was a tag on in the neck but supposedly there had to be another tag on also somewhere else. The next day I received the reordered dress that I got on sale. That one had the extra tag on the sleeve. It was attached with a flimsy tiny safety pin. I called customer service to allow my item to be returned as I sent it back exactly as I received it. The first phone call was 30 minutes. The second phone call to a supervisor was over an hour. They still refused to credit me. I said if the tag is so important, maybe you should secure it better than with a safety pin? I asked them how many times a day does this happen to other customers? They said it happens and we always ship it back to them. Such a nerve! I will not be shopping at Saks anymore! you shouldn't either! Take your business elsewhere! Like Bloomingdales and Nordstom.

Buyer beware.

Buyer beware.

I had one of the worst online shopping experiences I’ve ever had with Saks Fifth Avenue.

My package was delivered empty. The box had clearly been repackaged, and I recorded a video of the entire unboxing, which shows there was no item inside. Despite providing this evidence, Saks refused to resolve the issue and failed to conduct what I believe was a meaningful investigation.

Instead of standing behind their customers, they chose to deny my claim and keep my money for merchandise I never received.

I have repeatedly requested to speak with a supervisor and asked for an immediate refund, but my concerns have not been properly addressed.

This experience has completely destroyed my trust in Saks Fifth Avenue. I will no longer shop with them and cannot recommend that anyone purchase expensive items from their online store if this is how legitimate claims are handled.

I am now pursuing every available avenue to resolve this matter, including consumer protection complaints and other appropriate legal remedies.

If you’ve had a similar experience, I’d be interested to hear how it was resolved.

Profits over people

This company had a promotion going on wherein the customer would get gift cards based on money spent. I couldn’t add the promotion. I made my order, contacted customer service while the promotion was still ongoing and asked to get the gift card amount I was entitled to. I said I’d cancel my order and re-order if necessary. Customer service waited until the promotion was ending and then told me they were not honoring their own promotion. This would have been small change to this store, which shows they do not care about customers. I will be shopping elsewhere.
