You get what you pay for

I have used many vehicle rental companys' over the many years. Each has its pros and cons. But every time I have used SIXT, in any country, it has been a joy. No secret/hidden agendas to get you to pay more money. You request the car you want and that is what you get. Clean, tidy and issued to you with acknowledgement that that are their for you if you need them

To anyone who rents from SIXT car…

To anyone who rents from SIXT car rental. Take a lot of pictures and write all the information down. If you decide not to purchase the insurance coverage they offer be careful when returning the car. They are charging me for "damage" that we were not able to see when we dropped it off. But they went over the vehicle with a bright light and proceeded to send me a bill for damage. SIXT also stated that they cannot repair all damage but will bill you even if they are not fixing the car. I do not have the ability to dispute this claim. I highly recommend that you ensure you document anything you see on your vehicle. Even if it is less than 3cm( as they will send you a bill for this). I have rented all over the world with no issues( I have my own coverage so I declined their coverage). SIXT sent a bill to me for $365 EU for damage that will actually not be fixed. This is disappointing as my expectations were high based on all the feedback. Will not be renting from SIXT in the future. We did not cause the damage they are claiming.

I cannot recommend the overall…

I cannot recommend the overall experience. The only positive aspect was the car itself. From a service perspective, the experience was disappointing from start to finish.

The Memmingen office operates only between 08:00 and 18:00, and there is no support available outside these hours. At pick-up, no vehicle inspection was conducted with a representative. Instead, I received an email containing the vehicle condition report, which was difficult to understand unless you speak German.

We had to return the car outside office hours, which meant simply dropping the keys into a mailbox. Any additional damages are reported later without your presence. Unsurprisingly, a damage claim appeared on our report regarding the side mirror, even though it was not caused by us. Fortunately, we were not charged for it.

We booked through Booking.com, but the final amount charged at the desk was €20 higher than the amount shown in the reservation. To this day, I have not received a satisfactory explanation for this discrepancy.

The biggest issue arose when I accidentally left an item in the car. Since the key had already been dropped into the mailbox and there was no staff available, there was no straightforward way to retrieve it. The reservation also disappeared from my Sixt account, making it even harder to track the case.

What followed was a frustrating struggle with largely unresponsive customer service. After considerable effort and multiple follow-up emails, I finally received confirmation that my item had been found. The courier was only able to collect it on the second attempt, after further intervention from my side. Even then, I later received an automated message from the ticketing system stating that the item had not been found and that they were still searching for it.

Overall, the process was poorly managed, communication was inconsistent, and customer support was extremely difficult to deal with. I am still waiting for clear answers regarding the invoice discrepancy and the disappearance of my reservation from their system.

Palm Beach airport rental

Recently rented a car from Sixt from their Palm Beach airport location. One of my best rental experiences. The shuttle arrived quickly and took me to rental location. I was process and in my rental (2026 model) on my way within 10 minutes of stepping foot inside their office. The return a week later was similar. The drop-off took 2-3 minutes and 5 minutes later i was on the shuttle taking be pack to the airport. I did use the Sixt app (and got a very competitive rental rate) to rent the vehicle so that most likely played a major role in making the process so smooth.

Would 100% use again in Kauai

We didn't have to wait long at all to be picked up by the shuttle that took us to pick up our rental. We were helped with our luggage, comfortable ride, we did rush to the line so we were next in line when we arrived, so didn't have to wait too long. Tabitha B was so lovely and helpful and gave us tons of suggetsions and we appreciated the lovely flower in her hair that she said she makes an effort to wear a flower in her hair every day for work. We got the car we signed up for and even got to pick the color. Would definitely use again.

Man best believe SIXT will always get…

Man best believe SIXT will always get my business. First off Josh from the pick up downstairs at the harry reid rent a car location always makes it easy and hassle free everytime I pick up my rental. His customer service is a 5 star hands down. I come to Vegas every month for work and I always book SIXT for my rental. They Always have the most elite rental cars compare to the other companies for sure. Easily wipes the rest of the companies. Never disappoints, hands down 5 star. Keep it up guys

The staff at Gatwick Airport South…

The staff at Gatwick Airport South Terminal were all very helpful polite and knowledgeable. The car I rented was very clean and had no issues throughout the whole rental.

Friendly helpful service.

NRMA oganised the Sixt group for us when our car had problems on our trip.
The staff at Campbelltown, NSW were extremely helpful and friendly when we picked up our hire vehicle, choosing a suitable vehicle to fit us and our (rather capacious) luggage comfortably.
Because of this experience I would highly recommend the Sixt Rental Car firm.
