Pine agreed to pay me for a sponsorship, said they’d sent the money, then cancelled
In September 2026, Pine’s marketing team approached me about a paid sponsorship for my business community. We agreed in writing on $1,675 USD for a 30-day pinned community post and one dedicated email to my list.
Pine asked me to test the product before writing anything and to accept payment after testing instead of upfront. I agreed. I spent over a week testing it on real work, wrote two drafts, and made two rounds of revisions at their request. On October 5 they approved the final copy in writing. They then sent me an invoice and a campaign agreement, and I returned the signed invoice and my banking details.
On October 12 Pine emailed to say the payment had been sent. It never arrived. I asked twice for a transfer reference number and never got one. On October 18 they cancelled the deal, citing a change in company strategy, and offered platform credits and a coupon instead of the money. Two days later they admitted the payment had never actually been made. They then added a video requirement that was never part of our deal. After that they cycled through PayPal, Stripe and a payment link, and finally asked whether a friend or family member could receive the money for me.
As of this review, I have not been paid. I have every email, with dates, showing the agreement, the approved work and the payment claim.
My overall recommendation is to stay away. For the money, you’ll get more value from a general AI assistant like ChatGPT or Claude. In my experience, Pine’s leadership couldn’t make up its mind and didn’t keep its commitments. Judging by the other reviews here, I’m not the only one: customers and creators alike have been left without what they paid for or were promised.
