Horrible to non-existent Customer Service
I have one remaining 1ShoppingCart customer, mostly because she doesn't need the bells and whistles of many other platforms, and she's not a heavy user. As someone who used to use 1ShoppingCart myself and have been using it for clients for the past 15 years... at one time, it was THE platform to use. Now it's a buggy dinosaur. At one time, I actually used to recommend it to clients and prospects. The competition has long ago surpassed 1ShoppingCart and left them dead in the water. Actually, 1ShoppingCart has left themselves dead in the water with lack of improvements, innovation, and updates, and now with lack of proper customer support.
I've been putting up with bugs for years. It constantly logs me out when I click on certain areas or gives me error messages, which slows me down and wastes my time. The past few weeks take the cake though.
The client wanted to send out her newsletter (she doesn't send them very often). I set it up and tested it, only to find the links not working. Direct links to the website work fine, but it's the on2url.com tracking links that 1ShoppingCart turns them into that are causing Cloudflare to return a host error message. Clearly on the host end - on2url.com. This was happening with all links in all emails (no matter what browser or email account I tested with).
I submitted a support ticket in the support portal. The next day I decided to call to see if I could get faster support because client was anxious to get the email sent out. I had a horrible, frustrating experience. I couldn't seem to get the guy to fully understand the problem. He ended up putting the issue back on me and saying the error was on my end, when it very clearly was NOT. Google, Gmail, and Yahoo don't turn the links in 1ShoppingCart emails into on2url.com links. Web.com owns both 1ShoppingCart and on2url.com. I also know how tracking links work in email marketing - the hyperlinked URLs in emails are masked with the tracking links when sent out to track open rates, bounces, click rates, etc.
After a long period of time on the phone with this guy, I couldn't get anywhere with him, so I gave up and wrote a lengthy response in the support portal to explain my displeasure, more info on what the issue was, with screenshots, etc.
My first support ticket was submitted Dec. 18th. By Jan. 2nd, I still hadn't received a response. I do understand the holidays were in there, but there was time before Christmas and in between Christmas and New Year that they should have been responding. I sent an email late in the day on Jan. 2nd asking why they weren't responding to support tickets, including the support ticket number and account number. Several days later and I've received no response as of yet to that.
They really DO NOT care about their clients anymore. It's really quite unbelievable. I don't know why they don't just send an email out to their existing clients (if they have any left) and tell them that they're discontinuing it and shutting it down on a certain date. It's not usable as it is currently, but they're sure happy to continue taking money for it.
Thankfully, it seems now that this client is ready to migrate elsewhere. There are MUCH better (and sometimes cheaper) options out there, with better customer support too.
