Ableworld are the largest mobility retailer in the country and believe this is because we genuinely care about our customer’s well-being. We employ professional, caring and knowledgeable staff to work in our stores, and provide quality mobility aids at value for money prices.
We pride ourselves on being an ethical trader who will not pressure sell items and if we feel a product should have an assessment we will not sell these online, as we want to ensure our customers that they are getting the right product for their needs, not just the most expensive mobility aid.
Our stores stock all types of mobility aids, including Mobility Scooters, Walkers, Powerchairs, Bathing Aids and Stairlifts. You can be assured that in all of our stores we provide the same caring approach to looking after our customers, and the same range of quality mobility aids.

I was served by Julie who was truly the best. She was really patient and helpful and answered the millions of questions I had. She was very informative about the products and my father's needs. Bless her, she was the kindest soul when I started crying and was very sympathetic. I'm sorry for being a baby but Julie was really sweet - she is the perfect model for good customer service. She deserves a pay rise or at least a few extra days off.

Ok went to look at a scooter that was available to hire over Easter so the wife could join me out and about as at the moment her mobility is severely limited and she ends up waiting for me in the car so I end up not seeing things that I want to see hence the wish to hire a scooter due to wanting to visit beamish museum. That’s the background of the visit that I hope will help explain the review. Quality of life for us both not just the wife was going downhill and I really didn’t want to get to Beamish for her to say no she doesn’t want to hire a scooter as she has been fighting against the idea of using one for at least 2 years. We were looked after and I mean LOOKED AFTER by Andrea and Julie. We were introduced to and the she had a test drive of the scooter that was for hire and the penny finally dropped that a scooter at this moment is a requirement. So at this point it’s now turning to buy not hire. So now Andrea and Julie are helping with their knowledge of what suits our requirements out of a very good selection of choice and she has a drive of a few others that are for sale not hire. It’s at this point the Mrs has a bit of a moment at the realization that she can’t go on fighting against her needs and that a mobility aid such as a scooter is a requirement to improve both of our quality of life. Due to this moment they sat her down and sorted her out and made her a cup of tea reassured her and and gave her time to compose herself. She is now the proud owner of a scooter and i know that’s going to to make a dramatic difference to us getting out and about. So thank you Andrea and Julie for your help your compassion and your understanding and support today

Andrea in the Burton store.
Andrea couldn't have been more helpful. She helped with the selection of the right chair, was careful to make sure it fit properly, and that it met all requirements. She was simply fabulous when it came to scheduling a delivery, and on the way home from the shop, we received a call asking if we could accept delivery the following day. That was just perfect, and we couldn't be more grateful.

Everything was great, easy to order on line, delivered quickly and we used a key the next day. Will be ordering again in the future if we need other items. Thank You

We ordered a stairlift from Ableworld which was due to be installed but unfortunately our circumstances changed and we were unable to go ahead with the order.
I rang Ableworld and they gave us a full refund on the deposit we had paid.

Visited Burton store to look for an electric wheelchair; met on arrival by Russell who was extremely patient and helpful. Russell suggested a few options that might work for me and let me try out the chairs around the store. Russell made our visit very pleasant, would highly recommend Able World.

Excellent customer care from both Matt and Kirsty. We were looking for a new Scooter for my cousin who is a young chap. Matt was our initial customer assistant who was extremely helpful in finding out what my cousins needs were and advising on suitability etc. My cousin was able to sit on the scooters and even was allowed to test drive a few. This was extremely useful for him. Kirsty also came to assist and her knowledge and advice was amazing. They both spent time and care with my cousin. He was made to feel special and chose his perfect new scooter! My cousin (Aunt and Uncle) live in Ripley, Derbyshire but said they would 100% visit Kirsty and Matt at the Burton store again

We visited today for the first time and had a fantastic experience from the minute we walked in. Kirsty came to us and advised us on a lightweight wheelchair - went through everything with us and we ended up purchasing.
Also a new walking stick and a back support which Kirsty really took her time taking them out the packets for my mother in law to try on and she was very happy with the outcome and purchased one.
Just want to say thankyou very much to Kirsty and Matt for their excellent service today
Kind regards Deb

I would like to send a huge “thank you” to Kirsty who was very patient and understanding, helping my 80 year old mum, buy her first mobility scooter. Kirsty answered all our questions and helped my mum test the scooter. She provided several demonstrations so that we understood how it came apart and was put back together. Kirsty made it a stress free experience for us all. I would wholly recommend Kirsty and Ableworld Burton - 5 star service ⭐️

We’ve just bought a mobility scooter from Ableworld Burton. We were looked after by Andrea, the shop Manager. What a lovely lady - professional, knowledgeable and able to answer all our questions. Andrea gave us excellent advice as well.
Andrea has a knowledge of the surrounding local areas and knew exactly where I wanted to use my mobility scooter - we found this very useful & informative.
Thanks Andrea you’re a credit to the company!

Ableworld at Burton was recommended to us by a friend whose mother was a customer. It's impressive. A huge range of aids both high need and less so (eg joint support etc -- I'll be recommending my son to go there as he has serious joint issues). We had looked at the website and were pretty sure of what we wanted and were in and out in about 30 minutes. No high-pitched sales, the staff just made sure we were happy with what we'd chosen and knew how to use it and deal with it (folding wheelchair), giving a short 'tutorial' and offers to help us out into the car park and the car. Thank you, Chris and Andrea -- you were friendly, helpful and jovial. It was a good experience for one who is struggling against deteriorating ability. I hope I won't need to return -- but you would be first in line!
