Awful airline
Awful airline. Needed to change my flight following the death of my Mother and while flights were empty they wanted 150% of the original fare additionally to change the date. They cancelled one flight and made the departure time earlier which caused massive issues and then added another stop on the return flight to have two stopovers! Flight duration was extended by 3 hours.
Horrible experience
Horrible experience! Wingie and Air Algérie are avoiding responsibility for my flight refund under The authorities couldn't even reach them due to their evasion. They are withholding my money! Resolve this immediately or I will continue escalating publicly
They are Racist if you are black…
They are Racist if you are black never use that Airline
I was detained in Algeria on that Airpot for 18 hours and my documents were confiscated, they even denied me to go and buy food or water, I was on a connecting flight from London to Johannesburg and they said my passport is fake whilst I have used the very same passport for over 3 years traveling different countries they still denied me passing despite showing them my UK Visa linked to the very same passport, they deported me to back to South Africa and the passport was deemed Authentic and then AirAlgeria station manager named Nasri Zacharia came and said they will rebook my flight to London, and gave me an email to send a claim up to today that man is blue ticking my whatsapp messages and ignored my email, customer service my number was blocked and I can’t call, this cause serious emotional distress and a huge impact on my mental health and financial impact
Terrible experience with Air Algérie
Terrible experience with Air Algérie. Our 09:40 flight was delayed until around 20:00, with almost no clear information provided. We were kept on the aircraft for more than four hours in extremely stuffy and uncomfortable conditions. We received contradictory information throughout the day, no announcements were made in English, and passengers were given different gate numbers and repeatedly issued new boarding passes. As a result, we missed another flight. The communication and passenger management were completely unacceptable. “When I collected my suitcase, I noticed that the protective wrapping I had paid for had been torn open and that my luggage had been searched through.”

Air Algérie are scammers—the worst airline in the world.
I had a ticket booked with them for July, traveling from Rome to Johannesburg. They cancelled the Johannesburg–Algiers leg of the journey but kept the other segments intact, instead of simply rebooking the flight for the next day. They aren't responding to inquiries, and they’ve blocked my IP address.
They are scammers; I do not recommend them.
Airline Ignorance Costs Time and Money
For these guys to detain and deport someone because they do not know their passport. This is a person travelling to UK and Kingdom of Eswatini with other airlines succesfully Emirates, Egypt air, Ethopian but because of ignorance decided our passport is fake. Avoid their airline especially if you are not a popular ciuntry. You risk deportation. Had to restart journey from South Africa with airlines that a more clued up. Wasted day and money. Cant believe they cant find ways to verify aunteticity mx

Very disappointing experience with Air…
Very disappointing experience with Air Algérie. Our flight from London Stansted (AH2057) was delayed by over 2½ hours due to a baggage issue, yet passengers were given almost no explanation and were simply told it was a “control check.”
After take-off, we experienced very severe turbulence that left many passengers terrified. I understand turbulence is beyond the airline’s control, but what disappointed me was the lack of care afterwards. Apart from a brief announcement, no cabin crew checked on distressed passengers or offered any reassurance. I spent much of the flight crying, and the silence from the crew made the experience even worse.
Safety comes first, but so do communication and customer care. Unfortunately, this experience has left me reluctant to fly with Air Algérie again.
Very poor experience
Very poor experience, I urge the Passenger Protection Authorities to take required actions to protect the whole country's tourism image, I am expecting an urgent flight with refernce number AH6193 to take place at exact 13:20 Local Time; to find myself and my family unnecessarly awaiting an unjustified delayed flight without even knowing when we will be departing! A shamful experience that is repeatedly taking place without any actions taken against it.
Absolutely horrific customer service
Absolutely horrific customer service. Attempted to book a same-day flight to attend a funeral. They took my money and failed to process my ticket. I called customer service and was spoken to by an absolutely useless wannabe-French young woman who told me to request a refund online. I then attempted to book another ticket and the same thing happened again. Pathetic customer service, slow, lack of urgency and not supportive whatsoever given the circumstances. I had to call my bank and process the refunds. Very disappointed in the airline, making Algerians look like scum. Been a loyal customer for over 20 years, horrible!
Worst company ever
I have never been on a SINGLE air algerie flight that was on time. And this one isn’t any different. Absolute trash of a company. Always has been, always will be. I hope you never have the misfortune of having to fly on this company. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE
plus de 8h de retard sans indemnisation
For Algerian travelers
For Algerian travelers, I understand that many people do not have a lot of alternatives when flying to Algeria. But for everyone else, I would strongly recommend avoiding Air Algérie after the experience I had today.
Check-in was refused for only a few minutes of delay, despite other passengers being accepted afterwards. No real assistance, no customer consideration, and inconsistent treatment at the airport.
Very disappointing experience.
Air Algeria earned my good review
We recently travelled with Air Algeria from London to Johannesburg, via Algiers. We were rather apprehensive to fly with this airline, given the poor reviews online. At the time of booking our trip, the Air Algeria price was significantly lower than other airlines so we decided to book and accept that this will probably not be the greatest trip, how wrong we were!
From check-in to inflight, we honestly could not fault the service we received. The London - Algiers aircraft is quite dated, but the Algiers - Johannesburg plane was an Airbus A330 900, very modern and better than many other airlines I have travelled long distance with.
The Algiers airport is very modern and we were happy to lounge around for 4 hours in transit. The cost of a drink and a meal is very reasonable. GBP12 for 3 cuppachinos and 2 pastries. You can also buy beers at some of the cafes. There is no Visa Passport lounge in Algiers International, but you can buy a 4 hour access for Euro44 pp. The biggest letdown at the airport is the poor state of the toilets. There are cleaners full time, but there is no loo rolls and the floors are always wet due to "water being sprayed from the loo".
The reason I am not awarding a 5 star, is because the inflight meals are not great. We were served rice and chicken on most legs (not very tasty), and even the same chicken for breakfast. Having said that, the flight from Johannesburg to Algiers served really good meals, but we opted to eat a big meal in Johannesburg prior to departure.
Be aware that when you travel on the A330 900, you must pack your own Bluetooth headset, as the airline does not provide headsets.
Nothing Justifies such an expierence
Air Algérie — The HOPE Way (Evidence-Based Review)
H — Hygiene & Environment
The hygiene standard on this flight was unacceptable.
Visible dirt buildup on seat panels and tray areas.
Grime accumulation in high-touch zones (seat hinges, armrests, compartments)
Worn, cracked seating materials indicating long-term neglect
Cabin surfaces appear uncleaned over extended periods, not just a once-off lapse
The toilets were extremely dirty and unpleasant, making them difficult to use during the flight.
> This is not just poor hygiene — it reflects a systemic failure in cleaning protocols and quality control.
O — Operations
Operational delivery felt bare minimum and outdated:
Only one meal option — no choice
Limited beverages (water and juice only)
No visible effort to enhance passenger comfort or experience
For a paid international flight, this reflects low service design and poor customer experience planning.
P — People (Service Experience)
Cabin crew interaction was cold and unwelcoming.
Service lacked:
Warmth
Responsiveness
Professional engagement
In aviation, staff carry the brand. Here, the experience felt transactional rather than service-driven. We waited 2 hours on check in process.
E — Experience
Overall, this was a deeply uncomfortable travel experience:
Hygiene concerns affected comfort
Poor service reduced confidence
Lack of care diminished the journey entirely
At this price point, the experience felt misaligned with basic airline standards.
Final Rating: 1 / 5
What this highlights is critical:
> Cleanliness in aviation is not cosmetic — it is directly linked to passenger trust, safety perception, and brand credibility.
When hygiene fails, everything else collapses — no amount of pricing or routing justifies it.
Totally destroyed my suitcase
Totally destroyed my suitcase. Filed a claim at the airport then the long convoluted process of their non-working email address and website glitches. I submitted all the requested (excessive) paperwork and then they simply asked for it all again. I responded that they already had this info and now radio silence for months, despite repeated requests for compensation.
Worst experience on earth
Worst experience on earth. Flight was supposed to be on 12th of April at 15:20, then it got delayed two three times, then we went in waited insane huge line, sat down and started to fly, the plane turned around and asked us to leave. Then they promised another flight on same day at 21:00, then they cancelled it. They say new flight at ~5:00 and “brand new plane with crew from Canada”. They said we will get hotels to rest. It was at the time already 22:00, we went to get new boarding passes, new refund paper then were asked to wait for other to come as apparently they board “women first”, I was a woman. Then they changed their talk said “women with kids and old women” it was only few people around, waiting for other to come could take hours. Then they said the reason is the hotel is booked, and it’s not their fault, I’m in foreign country where should I sleep?
We came back for flight around 2:00 to be up for flight at 5:00 only to find out it’s rescheduled at 8:30.
We boarded the plane late again and waited for around 2 hours for it come up and yes the plane turned was brand new, just maybe in 1950s.
Thank you for making my first experience in Algeria the worst with in possible way, and also we got nothing, no refund, no hotel, no extra meal or anything to make up for anything. If you want to be treated like trash, use air Algeria. I still have nightmares when I sleep. Also sounds of plane, people were about to fall apart and collapse and fight almost happened.
Not the best but good enough
Not the best, usually late, but still serving free meals, free seat selection and options for refunds and to rebook, very flexible personal. Overall a lot cheaper than any other carrier flying to Algeria.
Worst company ever
Worst company ever, I travelled on 19 March 2026, I waited for a long time to claim my luggage, I received one luggage without getting the second one. I'm calling them but no one is answering, I sent emails through lost and found but no one is replying.
