Very disappointing experience with the…

Very disappointing experience with the staff at Gdańsk Airport. When my mother had a problem and asked for help, I approached the employees and asked: “Do you speak English?” Instead of trying to help, they made a rude face, turned away, and simply said “no”. They did not try to understand the situation or find someone who could assist us.
I understand that not every employee speaks English, but basic politeness and willingness to help should be expected at an international airport. I hope management will pay attention to staff training and customer service standards.

This was an awful experience

This was an awful experience. Extremely rude and shocking behaviour from passport control staff who quite frankly take joy in making you feel uncomfortable and being aggressive towards you. When asked where I was flying to, I answered. The passport control lady screamed back at me aggressively saying what do I not understand about her question? This didn’t make sense as I answered her question clearly. She took joy in making me feel small and that we were foreign.

SubjectFormal Complaint – Unjustified Baggage Fee and Unprofessional Conduct

Subject: Formal Complaint – Unjustified Baggage Fee and Unprofessional Conduct

I am writing to formally complain about my experience on the above-mentioned flight.
At the boarding gate, I was forced by a member of staff to place all my belongings into a single backpack. As a result, my handbag and duty-free items purchased at Gdańsk Airport could not fit. Despite being bought after security control, these duty-free items were incorrectly classified as additional baggage.
I was therefore compelled to pay a fee of 298 PLN, which I believe was unjustified and contrary to standard baggage and duty-free policies.
The situation was handled in a highly stressful and unprofessional manner. The staff member’s behaviour was rude and pressuring. Due to this stress and lack of proper assistance, I involuntarily left behind a white cashmere scarf, valued at approximately 400 SEK.
I felt misled and treated unfairly. I was not clearly informed of my options and was effectively forced to pay the fee in order to be allowed to board the flight.
In light of the above, I hereby request:
A full refund of the incorrectly charged baggage fee (298 PLN), and
Compensation for the lost cashmere scarf (approx. 400 SEK).

Utterly disgusting

My experience entering Poland via this airport was brilliant but leaving was incredibly awful. Not only were the staff rude, inconsiderate, had a lack of humanity and disrespectful but so were the airline itself. I am disabled and was using my sticks but really needed to sit down but people wouldn't give up the seats that their bags were sitting on, even the staff wouldn't help. Eventually I had to struggle to sit on the floor. I was in excruciating pain and even when I tried to speak to the staff they would just say in perfect English "sorry I don't speak English, only polish" a lady ended up translating for me. After a while of sitting on the ground my partner managed to get hold of a wheelchair for me. It eased a little of my pain but not much. I ended up needing the toilet and whilst there the staff removed the wheelchair knowing I was using it. After what seemed like a life time of waiting for our flight we were all told to go to a different gate. I went to use the lift and was told I wasn't allowed to use it and had to walk even tho I had my sticks and was in pain and crying. Once I reached the gate they told us all the flight was cancelled. We were all told the airline was going to book everyone hotels and transport for the following day (Sunday) this never happened. They told us eventually we had to just book ourselves a hotel and transport. We booked a hotel for the night so I could be comfortable at least but now we must now fight to be refunded for that. The airline at one point during the waiting that night offered us all €8 for food or drink whilst we waited for our flight but no-one could use them as the shops had closed. But considering a packet of paracetamol with 8 tablets cost €6 it wouldn't have got much. Then the following day we went to the shop to use the vouchers they added to the ticket the night before only to find they revoked them. I am so glad to be back in England. I will never use that airport again. It was a terrible experience that I hope no one else goes through.

Vip Lounge

Today I visited the VIP Lounge at Gdańsk Airport and had a very disappointing experience.
The gentleman attending the lounge was extremely rude and disrespectful. I informed him I was an accompanying guest, but he said he did not know how the system worked. Whether it was due to his poor English or simply unwillingness, his attitude was completely unacceptable.

In a VIP lounge — especially at an international airport — one expects staff who are well-trained, professional and able to communicate in English. Instead, I got unprofessional behaviour.

Additionally, the food offered was substandard and clearly needs improvement. The staff member spent most of the time on his phone rather than serving guests — another sign of disrespectful service.

Overall, it was a very poor experience. I cannot recommend this lounge under these conditions.

Unprofessional staff during boarding…

Unprofessional staff during boarding process with extremely low standards. As a frequent traveller (aprox 70 flights per year) this is the first time ever they took my cabin luggage considering it non compliant. I flew with Lufthansa where I also have a silver status. In addition I arrived with the same suitcase 2 days before and it was not a problem. I used to consider Gdańsk as a good airport but from today onwards I can only give negative reviews.

Really awful airport

Really awful airport. Silent airport with no last calls, but then they're always saying something through the speaker. Rude staff too. Uncomfortable in every possible sense.

Rude staff

I sincerely can't realise how such a rude staff work with other people at the airport. My mother had a flight to Finland and she had just one question on where she could scan her boarding pass. The airport worker - woman responsible for assisting with scanning refused to help her and YELLED at her because my mom 'didn't speak Polish or English well'.

My mother's question was understandable with minimal Polish knowledge. But the airport woman decided to ignore her because of Ukrainian accent!!! She acted in unprofessional way. And this mustn't happen to any tourist.

Such a shame.

I love this airport, but some staff is not for its level.

Very unclear way how to get to the main train station

No matter how modern this place seems to be on face value, getting here is a total disaster and waste of time by public transport. As one can imagine most foreign visitors would like to visit Gdańsk centre and not go to some little village nearby . We were supposed to catch the bus which goes to the train station and together with few other people we boarded the bus which went to the train station in Osowa ( nobody ever heard about such place abroad I can guarantee). Why the hell the buses are marked as going to Dworzec - dworzec you would expact the main railway station and not some little village station. Also why there is no direct train to Gdańsk main railway station after 17:00 hrs? This place has very unclear markings and the way to the city centre is not indicated in the clear way .

Stay away from the executive lounge and its rude unprofessional staff

I had a terrible experience at Gdańsk airport today, namely at the executive lounge.
I arrived too early for my flight and decided to avail of its service. There is a machine in the departures hall where you can buy a ticket which I used. It was a very straightforward transaction. The price of Zl 150 came up. I inserted my credit card and got a ticket.
On arriving to the executive lounge, I was told that I could only use it no earlier than 3 hours prior to my departure.
The staff member wouldn’t call a supervisor, wouldn’t let me use the service now instead of later, wouldn’t refund the cost and actually told me to leave.
She was extremely unhelpful, ignorant and confrontational. She actually enjoyed the situation and her power over it. She kept telling me about the rules, but nowhere on the machine in the process of buying the ticket, did I see any notice about a 3 hours timeframe.
The ticket itself didn’t specify it either.
I respect the rules but they should be clear, visible and transparent
So two major problems, confusing and well hidden rules and terrible staff in the executive lounge.

Unprofessional man at the security check

At the security check they are very impolite and rude, when they rub on you the paper to check if you have explosive traces, specially one person I noticed, doesn't ask to rise the shirt and he does all in a very unprofessional way. Specially when females are involved. Hope you realized that this is a serious matter and many people are complaining and you take the right decision out of this.

Nice airport

I liked the airport. Very clean, the security process was easy, good amount of shops and restaurants. Nothing too crazy.
