Blackmailed by the owner of the company

Recently I was blackmailed by the owner of the company (we all know who he is) saying if i never took my previous review down none of the outstanding work would be carried out. I have email proof of this. He promised me compensation and the rest of the work completed. Neither has been done. He promised he would contact me start of April and now he is ignoring my calls. So I am going to put the review back up. He is nothing but a parasite feeding off other peoples money. Horrible man.

If I could give no stars I would. Alaris is an absolute shambles and disgrace of a company. It has been a nightmare since day 1. From wrong materials getting delivered to materials not getting delivered at all. Was left without a working toilet for 3 days and without a working shower for nearly 2 weeks. I was promised the bathroom would be finished in 1 week, that was the first lie. Then they told me the guys would soley be working on my bathroom until it was done. That was also a lie as they were sneaking off doing other jobs when I had taken tine off of work for them to be there.

The workmanship was shabby from units not cut straight to walls not skimmed flush. My aqua panels were also not clicked in properly either. They also thought it would be a good idea to cut metal on my carpet and not clean it up which is totally unacceptable as I have a dog and small children running around. Also had leaks under my new sink. It is a pity you can’t put pictures up on here as I have plenty. I can always go to the papers and through social media tho. My bathroom was started in October 2017 and I am still waiting for issues to be rectified yet.

The customer service I have recieved from The owner of the company has been disgusting. He is full of promises but never delivers. He is now ignoring my phonecalls and messages. They make sure they get their part of the money and then leave you in the lurch. No respect for customers what so ever.

If you are thinking of ever going with this company I would highly reconsider as they are the biggest bunch of cowboys I have ever come across. By the looks of it I am not alone. I have had to update my review again because the owner of the company decided to report my last one to get it down because he knows I am right in everything I have said.

Alaris Kitchens are "going out of business"

This company has stated that they are going out of business. They are informing customers of this by letter and stating that they cannot complete their orders. They are directing customers claim back money on their credit cards which will mean the use of section 75 of the Consumer Credit act 1974 to claim back money as they have stated they have no means available to provide refunds or fund the purchase of the outstanding materials for the existing orders
They are also no longer called Alaris Kitchens, they changed their name to Arena Kitchens and then Kitchens Online LTD in December and January.

Oh dear

Oh dear! As I read 'didn't do due diligence' snap me to.
My story....Paid deposit in June 2017, balance Sep 2017 to have early delivery items which arrived. However Mereway worktop required a template/ drawing which was delayed because of my contractor but supplied late Nov 2017.
Since then numerous calls and visits met with with'smoke and mirrors' responses. Mr **** ******, unhelpful, unresponsive and a lot more.
Hey, he responded today though, to my registered letter. To late for credit / debit card refunds.
Suggest we all keep eye on Edingburgh Gazette Alaris/ Arena Kitchens...featuring.

**In reply- my kitchen is not complete!

**IN REPLY- my kitchen is not complete because there are so many aspects of it that are wrong! And when I wrote this review I had a second hand hob from your showroom! You have not addressed the problems in my very comprehensive letter sent to you. I am also astounded at the response on social media about your company- it is absolutely shocking! I don’t know how you sleep at night.

Agree with all of these reviews and if nothing else, Alaris are consistent in their failings. From not making changes to measurements as per architect drawings to giving us second hand appliances, we are appalled at the service. Now they are ignoring us too and we have a list of problems that need to be fixed. Seems we are at the end of a very long list of people who deserve answers. I hope everyone who complains contacts trading standards because they are well aware of what is going on with this company.

Started well but is getting very disappointing now

I recently bought a kitchen from Alaris. It all started well and the designer was very helpful, listened to my requests and made them come to life, even arranging for some custom modifications. The kitchen arrived and he had made a mistake with measurements (Thankfully one we could just about accommodate), sold me a unit above the hob extractor that could not open properly because the ceiling in my kitchen is too low and let me continue with a design that could have been a fire hazard. So far, so not so very bad...

When I then needed a few extra bits though, they forgot to order them at first, then ordered it wrong. It is a minimum of 6 weeks delay before anything comes from the kitchen manufacturer (Why??). Now Alaris won't respond to my emails. I've been waiting several months to get a door (Standard size, nothing complicated) that was delivered back in November in the wrong size. We are now at the end of January.

Wish I had done my due diligence.

Wish I had done my due diligence.

Alaris (Aberdeen) Ltd. - Liquidated 21/6/16
Alaris UK Ltd. - Liquidated 21/2/17
Arena Home Improvements - Liquidated 21/6/16
Alaris Banchory Ltd. - Liquidated 31/1/17
Alaris Ltd. name changed to Arena Kitchens Ltd.

Check out Companies House for all the details you need.

I placed my order on 25th November. On 29th November, the person who took my order (son of the owner) resigned from the company. I have now been told that Alaris Ltd. (name since changed to Arena Kitchens Ltd.) will not be able to fulfil my order as they are going insolvent.

You have the information. I leave it to you to draw your own conclusions.

This information is not accurate at all. There is a big difference between dissolving a dormant company and liquidating a company.

Contacted Alaris for a Bora kitchen hob …

Contacted Alaris for a Bora kitchen hob as they are one of the few UK stockists for the German brand. I was in contact with the manager via emails for details and prices, at which point he was informative and helpful. When we decided to go ahead with the purchase manager could not get on the phone quick enough for my bank details and he had no problem contacting a Bora rep at this time. The product arrived in good time but some of the parts were wrong, which at the time I was not too concerned as there was time to rectify this. I again contacted the said manager who said this will be sorted within a few days. This was not the case, manager and his colleagues then went on to ignore my phone calls and emails. The few times I have managed to speak to the company, they habe claimed the new parts were delivered and then claiming Bora are not responding to him which I find hard to believe. My kitchen is now fitted with no extraction ducting which is not something I can buy off the shelf.
ONCE THEY HAVE YOUR MONEY THEY DON'T CARE.
Updated since seeing this review the company has eventually contacted me and the parts were delivered a couple of weeks later.

Sorry but the information we were given from you about the ducting parts that were wrong were wrong. You sent pictures of another brand which meant Bora couldnt figure out what was wrong

If anyone is thinking of going to …

If anyone is thinking of going to Alaris for a kitchen then I would strongly urge you to reconsider. I’m not one to publicly name and shame but after 8 weeks of sheer hell, with no end in sight, enough is enough!

My experience couldn’t be further away from the ‘first class service’ promised. I appreciate that things don’t always go to plan but the catalogue of failings from incorrect measurements and finishes; diabolical installation of work surfaces; delays of up to 7 weeks on some appliances etc etc is totally unacceptable, especially when there has been very little in the way of an apology for the shambolic service.

So, as I approach week 9 of the install, I am still without cooking facilities, a sink, or any reassurance/communication from Alaris as to when the issues will be resolved. Christmas dinner is well and truly cancelled in my house this year. 😞

Alaris - shame on you for the complete lack of respect you show your customers. You are most definitely NOT the professional set up you claim to be!
